Agreed with all replies below. Are you an endomorph? Get some BF calipers and put a number on your BF%. Research HIIT cardio and incorporate that into your exercise routine, along with utilizing between 50-55% of your maximum weight that you lift. For example, lift heavy one week doing pyramid and low reps, then lift lighter the next week and increase your reps with the lighter weight being used. Start weighing yourself in the am and the pm.

Next, calculate your BMR plus activity and adjust your macros accordingly, along with your calorie intake. What is your goal you want to reach for weight? I know you said lean muscle, but let's put a number on it too.

Do this for six weeks and take various BF% readings. Document your data for calories, weight, BF%, and types of meals and their macros. Keep a log of the length of time you are lifting and monitor your threshold for pain and endurance. HIIT is amazing. I am an ectomorph and I have to be careful incorporating HIIT into my lifting and cardio, or I lose weight quickly.

After six weeks, utilize AAS per what GearHead has suggested.

And, always get pre-cycle, mid-cycle, and post-cycle labs.

Okay, elliptical and bike it is, then!! You are still going to do HIIT, either way you are meeting your goals. And, you cant let EROIDS community down....lol!!

I'm going to comment here because I am on TRT. If your GP is administering your TRT protocol, he may or may not be an expert. Most of the time, and this is logical, the doctor will want to reestablish a testosterone level that is normal for your age. I'm going to be super careful how I word this. The Test level that you now have MAY not be adequate to support the kind of gains you want at the gym. Before you rush into doing it yourself, see if your doctor is willing to go higher - you MIGHT want and need the Test level of a younger man. If not, and depending on your means and insurance, find someone with expertise in TRT. The other dreadful consequence of a doctor that is not an expert is the failure to order an E2 (estradiol) level when he checks your T-level. Any administration of exogenous testosterone like TRT is going to cause a rise in your estrogen levels. We are all different. In my case (just under TRT) my doctor had to add an aromatase inhibitor to bring my estrogen levels down. If your estrogen level is too high, it is counter productive for what you are trying to accomplish. So, in short, my recommendation to you is to max out what you can to with your TRT program first before experimenting. Seems like your heart is really in this - you'll do great but first things first. Whatever you do, you have a bunch of assorted chemicals there that can do you a lot of harm. Let the experts on this site advise and guide you. Please don't take matters into your own hands with the gear.

Thanks. I agree. I go see my new endo in a week to have bloods done again other endo was 70 and didn't do anything. I went to this one and he said my test was low so this is a revisit to him. a week after that I go back for going over results. he said test was low, but everything else estro, cortisol. HGH was all spot on. Cholesterol was 220 he wants that down but it is way better than before. HGH is normal but for my age. he said he wants test 600-700 . I asked him and the other endo about HGH they bith were nice but said they didn't see the need for it. I have already went from 3 blood press meds to 1/2 of one yea !

I would say look into a solid diet plan and workout routine before you jump balls deep.

Train properly for a year and once you've lowered your bf% and but some muscle naturally.

Once you have taken it seriously then do the standard beginners cycle.

Sorry I know this isn't what you wanted to heat.

No, I do want to hear. I am a newbie. Problem is/was with no hormones in my body I had no and I mean no motivation for anything. My wife is a happy woman never seen her like this. LOL married 24 years. Happy. She is very supportive too. Anyway seems like gains were and are real slow and recovery takes days from just one workout. endo also put me on high dose Vit D . I told him all this. As stated above old endo never did bloods new one is taking them for second time in 6 weeks. Just started seeing him.

Thanks and I agree on diet diet diet. . I have went from 300 plus to 250 but not too fast as I am trying to gain muscle. Kind of different for me than a bodybuilder as I didn't have hormones per endo for probably years. almost no body hair. low muscle tone was on 3 blood press meds now 1/2 of just 1. Didn't know what was wrong with me till one doctor 2 years ago ckd hormones for sex complaints. came back at under 100. yes under 100 test. tried all the gels and creams but they didn't work gave me shots and what a transformation. whew. loving life. That was old endo 70 year old new endo is doing more tests both say pituitary doesn't work usually happens to older men. but not uncommon. Both let me self inject. This endo want me at 600-700 test, he is taking bloods again next week. I want them higher to try and turn the clock back some. Just had big heart test done with scan ect. came back real good and zero blockage. Smile
