VERY Disappointed in First Cycle

ad

I have wanted to do a cycle since my early 20s. 20 years later I finally found this site and nervously decided to take the plunge and ordered a Test P (150cc eod) & Winny (50mg ed for last 6wks) cycle from a VERY reputable source on here. I was excited as hell to start.

I never pinned before so I was really nervous but did it with the help of the wife. A couple weeks went by and didn't really notice much at all and was nervous that I was doing something wrong so I began reading and reading some more. I found that I was only getting 2500 cals and that wasn't enough to grow so I immediately bumped it up to 3500-4000. I did notice that I started seeing some change but it was real slow. I began noticing some strength gains and that I started feeling pretty good in the gym but was tired alot. I noticed that I began sweating continuously and started gaining weight really fast... I was bloating up big time. I let this go on for a few more weeks but my BP was skyrocketing and I was uncomfortable all the time. I noticed a little tenderness in my nipples so decided to to take a Novadex for a couple days to be safe. I wasn't taking any AI at the time so I got some. The Novadex worked great it got rid of the bloat I was feeling and finally I wasn't freaking out due to constantly feeling like my heart was going to beat out of my chest at night. I began taking .25-.5mg of Arimidex a few times a week as I felt I needed it.

The cycle went on and my strength in the gym seemed to grow but I wasn't seeing much more in the way of physical changes. I ate 90-95% clean throughout the 12 weeks and killed myself in the gym 5-6 days a week. I was loving the feeling but really only noticed a little more shape.

I just finished the 12 week cycle and really don't see much of a change at all besides I'm a little more toned.. except my stomach which still looks great when I wake up but as soon as I eat something it looks like I'm still fat.

I spent so much damn time in the gym, money on food, money on protein, money on gear and have received better results using legal supps... I don't get it. Seriously.

I never got blood tests done ( I know... I know).

Stats:
41 yo
205lbs
5'8"
Been working out since I was 15 yo.

Anyone have ANY clue what I could have done wrong???

Other than busting your ass, what was your training like? Split, rep ranges, lifts, cardio, etc...?

Other than busting your ass

At least five "NO HOMO'S" for that statement.

Sorry if Im wrong but, is not 6 days of training too much during cycle? You dont grow in the gym you grow in your bed, muscles need rest to grow. I go to the gym 4 days then rest 3 days, whether im on or off cycle

bishpeas's picture

The thing that is really weird to me is that I blew up from 205 to 216.5 after about 4-5 weeks in but then after I took the novadex for those couple days that's when it seems like I lost of my size and the cycle went south...

Thoughts?

Bulkdaddy's picture

Yep you lost all that water weight

I REALLY busted my ass in the gym (no BS) and noticed some strength gains in most of my lifts... I think my expectations were too high reading all the 1st cycle stories. I did lose fat. As a matter of fact, that might have been my problem as I started with pretty high BF. I should have leaned up some prior to starting the cycle. It just seems like I've made more progress natural before.

I don't fuck around in the gym guys, and I'm a decent sized guy already... Been working out for 26 years (have only taken off a total of 2 years in that time).

I'm not looking for pity or rude BS, I'm just new to this shit, just like you all were at one time, and I guess had too high of expectations

I think I'm going to try another source for my next cycle and see how it goes. Just sucks I have to wait 4 more months to try it again. :-)

BTW, I have nova & clomid and just to be safe I'm going to run a full pct cycle.

Thanks again for the advice.

You should be able to grow without gear if diet and training are up to par. Given not at a fast rate nor crazy gains being off but if you can't grow without gear there's a fucking problem adding drugs to the mix isn't going to change it smfh. Drug abuse.

Sir . Don't forget he is over 40 and in my opinion the human body need different calculating when you are over 40 . Different diet and different way to do a cycle , specially for first cycle also , but it's clear not enough read and home work ( searching ).

I think we just need to be even more disciplined with diet and training once we get over that magic age. When I was younger I could slip up here and there with diet and training it was really no big deal. It still was pretty easy to gain some muscle or lose some fat or whatever I was trying to do at the time. Now if I slack a bit or slip up it seems like I have to start over from the beginning. It is very frustrating but I have to give more respect to the older guys who continue to stay in shape because I know how much harder it is compared to being a young buck.

I don't feel we respond to the compounds any differently when running a cycle but we are just much more sensitive to diet and training and need to be at the top of our game with the diet and training even moreso now or the cycle is to be a failure. No more wiggle room left when we get older, but it is not the gear's fault.

Catalyst's picture

If you read below his diet is the issue. Doesn't eat enough and half of it is coming from mass gainer shakes.

tonytulo's picture

Don't call me sir , I work for a living. Over 40 just makes things difficult is all. I've watch many guys over 40 work magic. I know guys who are in the 40s and 50s who dominate the stage. His diet sucks. Yet he's been training since 25 and he's 41? And he's 5'8 at 208? No he's not eating enough. Why is it when people don't see the gains they expect the blame the gear or if they see huge gains everyone asks about gear and gear only. An this is why we preach blood work, takes the guest out of the gear end of things and immediately points the finger at training and diet.

Maybe the grocery store sold you some bunk produce.

vhman's picture

Damn grocery stores ripped people off!?! Makes my blood boil!!!

MorpheusMtx's picture

What about pics before and after? Maybe your progress can be evaluated only by some expert due to physical form.

Catalyst's picture

Below you wrote this:

Protein: ~300g daily
Carbs: ~250-300g

In your post you wrote 3500-4000 kcals per day. Where are these calories coming from? Eating only 250-300g of carbs per day and hitting 3500-4000 kcals suggests you're either eating a lot of fat OR you're over estimating what you're consuming. I suspect the latter.

bishpeas's picture

Sorry, I forgot to add in the carbs from the daily shake I was making which adds another 356.5g to that.

DfromPhilly's picture

You get 356.5 g or carbs from one shake? What's in it if I might ask? I have to eat 2.5 cups of brown rice (dry) to get 356 carbs. That's a lot of rice.

You also clearly learned a lesson here too and that's that you didn't do enough research. I don't care how much you read if you started at a higher BF% and didn't have an AI on hand, let alone thought you wouldn't need it, you didn't do enough research.

Catalyst's picture

So more than half of your daily carbs are coming from a shake? Considering the source, they're probably crap carbs too, (dextrose, maltodextrin etc). You aren't going to grow without fuel in the tank, steroids or not.

tonytulo's picture

Bingo. Hence why I didn't comment. Another one expecting magical gains from oil. Smfh

IrishMack's picture

I did not see what your BF is as it's not posted but this is a classic example of so much hype for so little gain. I heard so many people too say your first cycle will make you grow like a weed or you gain brutal strength, e.t.c. My 1st cycle I went in with an open mind and since my endo said it would make me feel normal again that's all I thought about. For 8 weeks I took my 150 a week and added 350 to it. I noticed some fat loss like crazy, but not much more as in strength or size. My second cycle I did the same thing except this time I did more heavy lifting and strength training and that's when my strength started going up. More fat loss. The point is its not a magic drug that makes you bigger stronger faster, One of it's main purpose is to repair muscle faster from being destroyed when you train, so if you don't destroy the muscle you won't gain shit. You need to set a goal, if you want to be stronger, focus training on strength, size? Focus on size, e.t.c. you can eat a horse every day and inject a gram of test a week but if you train half assed you get half assed results. Set a goal for the next cycle and you might be surprised. Shit you could have bunk gear and still grow if you have a goal and a plan and follow it through for 8 weeks.

Makwa's picture

strange...Even without gear if you are busting ass in the gym and nailing the diet you should have made some major improvements. Can't blame lack of results on the steroids. Anybody who is focused on a 12 wk transformation will see major results irregardless of AAS usage. Really look hard at your diet and training. I think that is where the problem is. it is to easy to just blame it on the gear.

Carlos Danger's picture

^^^ This is almost always the problem for nearly all of us when we aren't satisfied. I've had my fair share of blasts that I didn't give 100% on diet and I didn't maximize my results. I always do good on my training but my diet held me back from achieving my best.

For others it may be training and their diet is on point. For some it's both. Point being is it's always the first place I look to if my cycle results aren't where I want them to be. Diet and training. If both are 100% tight, then and only then would I look to the possibility of bunk gear.

Pale's picture

Diet, Diet, Diet, it is the most difficult part of all of this and the place where most of us drop the ball.

wanted's picture

All ive seen was what your calories are.
What is your protein aday
What is your carbs aday
What were your realistic goals
Maybe its the mirror playing tricks on you like it does alot of us.. I hope you pct

bishpeas's picture

Protein: ~300g daily
Carbs: ~250-300g daily

Wasn't sure what my realistic goals were... Just expected alot more after reading so many amazing results for the last year. Also, a few people know that I was pinning and said they only saw some difference...

I know I grew some, but not nearly as much as I believe I should have.

This was all I thought about every day for 12 weeks.

Just disappointed that's all...

wanted's picture

Trust only half these stories of first timers..
Ive heard B.S stories of guys gaining so many pounds on first cycle, Ask these guys there diet they have no idea !!!!! Take what you learned and go from there. Set a goal, then adjust,
Prop kicks azz at ED injections Im not sure whose gear your running, but dont give up so soon. The Mind is our worst enemy along with the mirror. Remmemeber the saying gear is a marathon not a sprint. Your focus should no be maintaing the size and weight you just added.

Seriously appreciate the advice...

Boom

bishpeas's picture

I know man. Will def do it next time. All I keep thinking is that I had inconsistently dosed gear. I'm going to try from another source next time. Really hate to do so since the source I used was great, but doesn't matter how great they are if you don't get results.

bishpeas's picture

Yeah man, I keep going over and over it trying to figure it out... My wife even said that I shrunk some beofe the cycle was even over. Really wish I would have got the bloods done.
