test E and liver problems

ad

hello guys I finished my cycle of 12 weeks of test. E (500mg / week) I did blood tests and transaminase is high, I did ultrasound and is fattened liver, the doctor says to suspend use of testosterone, because believes that the cause is just testosterone, I had some doubts because I never had problems with testosterone, in your experience, testosterone can cause liver damage??

supplement with NAC and TUDCA for a bit and go back and get bloods taken again. those two together are the holy grail for repairing the liver and deposing of bile. i havent seen any evidence compelling enough to think test only will affect the liver to any measurable degree, especially not full blood fatty liver. controlled scientific studies have shown testosterone supplementation up to 600mg/week for extended periods of time is relatively safe and will not affect bodily functions to a alarming degree. at 500mg you should be fine, something else is probably the cause, whether it be your alcohol consumption, genetics or something else

Hey mate have done several cycles of test, wintstrol, dbol, anadrol. Liver has always been in range intil last cycle ending with drol and my ALT rose to 195 AST 100. Ultrasound shows enlarged liver at 18cm, no comment on fatty filteration. Best case is to get on PCT for a while have a break and let your liver enzymes and condition improve. Only one life mate, Best supplements to help with liver function is TUDCA, NAC, SAME, Every morning when waking up drink fresh lemon water to help cleanse the liver.

What was your Liver panel numbers anything else showing abnormal? Do you have any symptoms?

Cheers

Hi Invoga.

As far as most studies go, there should be no liver toxicity caused from intramuscular injections of test.
Almost all liver problems in my own observations have come from overuse of oral compounds and poor diet.

So the fact yes , it cause because everything get into your body must , I didn't say maybe , no must go through the liver and from there go where supposed to go by the brain orders to the liver to send it where is supposed to go , everything you can imagine must go through the liver and if your liver not strong , of course there are reasons , like less water , alcohol , much coffee , food with heavy fat all can make the liver weaker , and much water during the cycle or when you are out the cycle too very important . This is the fact about our bodies , and this explain why when some people die the first thing they check to find out the reason is the liver . So drink water and by liver support its very important.

How much do you weigh? If fatty liver is the diagnosis then test is not the issue. How's your diet? What's your body fat currently? The treatment for this is super lean diet and weight loss.
Sorry if I missed this did your doctor do a hepatitis panel?

I did blood tests in March, and it was all ok ... I started the cycle in April, the cycle lasted three months, during these three months I drank alcohol only on Saturday nights in September ... I did it again and analysis I found transaminases gpt high, and enlarged liver, I do not think that drinking alcohol once a week is so dangerous to the liver but maybe I'm wrong

Some people can drink like fish their whole lives and their liver is fine. Other people can smoke cigarettes like a chimney and they rock for 60 or more years. Then there are those people who've never smoked a cigarette and they get lung cancer at age 40. Fucking genetics are EVERYTHING.

You may need to simply abstain from alcohol forever. Yeah, that sucks, but your health for the next fifty years isn't worth a buzz from a pint or two. You're WAY too damn young to have liver problems. Damn!

The old standbys of Milk Thistle and TUDCA (you can purchase it fairly cheaply off of the large website that's named after a huge river in South America) might also have to be daily supps for you. Regardless, please keep us posted. I'm rooting for your good health, brother!

Not sure where you dr came up with this reasoning ...

But if you do have non alcholic fatty liver ... Based on a cursory search through pubmed and other sites, test shouldn't cause it but actually improve a pre-existing condition not worsen it.

I'm not a MD ... Just something to consider.

Do u have an idea what ur body fat % is?

Did you do pre cycle bloodwork? Thats extremely important. if you did not this may have been a pre existing condition. Im no doctor but fatty liver disease from a 12 week test e cycle, idk if its possible to be brought on that quickly and i dont know if injectable test would cause it. Ill do a little research real quick on the condition.
And if you're using steroids you should not be drinking, that should be a thing of the past. Steroids means you're really trying to take it to the next level, drugs are not something someone who's trying to take it to the next level participates in. Even when you were natty building that foundation you shouldn't have been drinking.

ok, so according to medical studies its the exact opposite, men with low testosterone are much more likely to develop fatty liver disease

How high is it elevated and is that the only abnormal bloodwork value? And, how many cycles have u done?

Elevated liver enzyme (s) can be caused from several things. Lifting weights causes elevations in liver enzymes and cardiac enzymes, too.

Look into Tauroursodeoxycholic acid. Reseach this and incorporate it into your daily regimen as a supplement.

How much alcohol on Saturday nights? U wanna steer clear from alcohol, while on cycle...

irongame427's picture

id agree with you on lifting can causing elevations but he had an ultrasound confirming its fatty liver disease so regardless of how elevated they are he has NAFLD, or maybe he is an alcoholic lol?

MedDx's picture

U were right with pre cycle BW, too. Had he gotten it, he would have been able to determine if elevation of liver enzymes existed. So, his alcohol is probably major contributer to diagnosis. But, and here goes my peer review process...lol..i would get a second opinion from a Hematologist consult to determine if there is a correlation between primary diagnosis and elevation of liver enzymes. There is a margin of error that occurs with basing Dx on just one test. So, what i mean is US might not be that conclusive. Therefore, requesting another diagnostic imaging test to confirm what he is telling us would rule out any other underlying pathologies. I would use CT SCAN/MRI next. Reason being, from what u found out about testosterone and fatty liver is completely opposite from what his doctor is telling him now, which makes his docs Dx not hold water. U see where i am going with that? OP probably has Hx of alcohol consumption...like u said, and i agree with you on that. But, at this point, its hard to tell, exactly, whats else is contributing to elevation of liver enzymes. It could be a mix of both, which definitely needs to be addresed! Hopefully, OP will get back on here and reveal further abnormalties in BW because fatty liver should elevate alkaline phosphatase and ALT too. This is good...we need to keep this thread going...thanks for replying to me bro...

irongame427's picture

Ya I totally agree with you one test is not entirely conclusive, especially a Ultrasound. This may have been pre existing and he didn't get bloodwork until now or he could have another undiagnosed disease that could have caused this. Assuming he's not an alcoholic, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, certain rx drugs ( nolvadex being one), insulin resistance, and a host of other things.

Maybe he will chime in and give us some more info.

Have you taken any orals in the past? Was there alcohol involved while cycling?

invoga's picture

alcohol during the cycle, yes ... but only on Saturday night

JL's picture

Look into NAC. 1200mg per day. Stay away from alcohol, drink plenty of water and eat super clean. No pain killers or anything else that will cause increased stress on the liver. Also if your holding water cardio can help.

thelawnking's picture

Never personally heard of that, not saying it would be impossible though.
