Steroids and Kidneys

ad

I recently had blood work done, the Dr. called back and says my kidney function is at a 42. Should be above 60. I only take Test C, Deca, and Winstrol. What I'm wondering, which steroids are the easiest on the kidneys. I've found on the computer that Winstrol and Deca are apparently pretty bad, I've been a big user of both of those. I'm wondering if I should just cycle Test only at 400-500 mg, or if I just need to quit and do my prescript TRT dose. Which would suck, this is really the only thing I enjoy doing. Everything else, with the exception of slightly elevated cholesterol and hemocrit, was fine. Thanks.

My creatinine is 1.6, which is considered high. Two docs freaked, and sent me to urologist. She then freaked and sent me to kidney Dr. I was sitting in her office sweating it, waiting for the bad news. The door opened and I stood to meet death. She literally looked me up and down and said "you're fine." I asked how she could determine such a thing with a glance, and she said it was because I was jacked. People that work out with a lot of muscle aren't considered "normal." And they often don't fall in the normal ranges.

My creatinine runs between 1.6-1.8 and like you the nephrologist that I ultimately saw after all the other docs freaked said the same thing exactly. Creatinine, after all, is a waste product from muscle metabolism. The more muscle, the more creatinine. Also, creatinine, is produced in large amounts during intense workouts from muscle breakdown. So, when you look at a blood test here on eroids and you see low creatinine, you know immediately a couple of things - the guy has no muscle mass to speak of and / or he isn't working out very hard. I PM'd Viking about this once and he laughed because most people don't know this and when they post bloods they don't realize how much they are telling about both their training and their physiques just by the creatinine number.

dropping Winstrol would be a good idea.

a simple check up on a medical website and one of the main things it says is this:

Before taking stanozolol, talk to your doctor if you

  • have liver problems; or
  • have kidney problems.

my point is that although winstrol is most damaging on the liver, that doesn't mean it's good for the kidneys.

You just finished it so the blood work is reflective of the effect it had on you. Diet and other factors also come into play however as stated in comments below

Here is a great read:

Gear head wrote this and has extensive knowledge on the subject. Shoot him a PM is you'd like and I'm sure he'd help out.

Have you ever known anyone that had to do dailisys? Hours per day hooked up to a machine to clean out your nasty ass kidneys. It's shitty and it's basically the beginning of the end. Nothing is worth that.

what number was 42? typical kidney values are BUN and creatinine, and neither of those are dangerous if low, just means you have great kidneys or were over hydrated for the test. i would ask your doctor for what value is low. High kidney values are a concern though.

i would guess at 42 its probably your creatinine that your doc is talking about. The normal level of creatinine is usually 60 to 110 micromoles per litre, have a number for 42 wouldnt be a big deal. look into it and call your doctor and clarify what number was off and what it means.

a 42 eGFR is very low bro, anything under a 70 is considered low, . But my doctor told me some peoples creatinine and GFR are always on the high side ( creatinine) and gfr is on the low side. Mine was like 1.7 once and my gfr was 52 i believe, it reflects stage 3A CCD and she said i shouldnt worry due to the muscle im carrying i have alot more breakdown which will cause high creatinine and result in low gfr and high creatinine, along with the intense workouts causing more muscle breakdown and creatinine in the blood. Along with the high protein diet. Make sure youre very hydrated for the test, if not your results wont be accurate. But over hydration will do the same. Just make sure youre drinking a gallon a day everyday and your results will be accurate. Kidneys only function properly with adquate water supply.

ahh GFR, yeah your best bet is to come off and retest and have a talk with your doc.

Slow bro is on point !!!!!! I agree find out what he is talking about as far as aas going back to your script and seeing if it goes back to normal you don't wanna loose the kidneys my friend no quality of life there I wouldn't freak out over 1 test result unless it was off the charts multiple tests will help

I would personally drop everything and go back to your script and see if your levels rise. I wouldn't risk my kidney.
