Permanent effects from first cycle

ad

Hey guys,

I finished PCT for my first cycle about 2 months ago. The cycle itself went on for 3 months.

Cycle was as follows
466 mg Test E per week (200 mg E3D)
Aromasin 12.5mg ED

PCT
Nolva 40/40/20/20
Aromasin 25/25/12.5/12.5

Cycle was quite successful as I gained about 10 kg and managed to keep about 7 kg of this.

Initially I started my Aromasin dosage at 12.5mg EOD, until I started experiencing increased nipple sensitivity, after which I upped it to 12.5mg ED, This helped but I started experiencing left shoulder problems soon after. Had my shoulder ultrasounded, which showed nothing, so I pushed through it and upped my dosage for PCT purposes. The pain later became unbearable so I got another ultrasound which showed me to have subacromial bursitis, which I presume to be as a result of estrogen problems. I had mid cycle bloods done which showed estrogen to be increased, but still within normal range compared to pre cycle bloods.

My shoulder has since gotten a little better but still feels sore whenever I do chest and shoulders during the work out and usually the day afterwards. Also to note, I've had acne ever since I was a teenager, managed to get rid of it with a course of roaccutane. The acne came back on cycle and has not left since. I've also noticed increased body hair, especially in locations where I am usually quite hairless.

Has anyone had similar experiences with AAS? It would seem that I am quite sensitive to androgenic effects of hormones.

Man.. Hurt shoulder, acne, body hair?!

I'd be more worried about all the STI's, snapped banjo strings or cock burns you'll get from all the pootang you'll be slamming now you're swole.

This was more of a light hearted joke as I completely agree with what the lads said below.

I have had trouble shaking acne from my last cycle and have tried everything on this site to fix it. Nothing works. Don't want to go the accutane route just yet. Obv can't cycle until it's gone or it will get worse. Crazy that some people could run the same cycle and have no issues at all.

All part of the genetic lottery sometimes mate. I'm 2 months post PCT and acne not showing any signs of going away. Doesn't seem to be too uncommon

its because you are still producing tons of endogenous test........... add to that an exogenous amount and BOOOOM!!................ break out city.

Thanks alot for the information and advice guys. After reading all these replies, I am very much inclined to agree with you all. I am most likely lacking the foundation necessary for AAS which probably attributed greatly to my shoulder injury. I was well aware of this prior to cycling and did not fall prey to ego lifting, in fact I only increased my lifts by about 20% before my shoulder injuries began to surface. Whether or not this is expected, I am not entirely sure.

My main reason for diving into AAS was I always felt I was lacking behind others despite putting in hard work in the gym and into my diet. People who I introduced to the gym and almost personally trained would surpass me in a few months time. It frustrated me to the point where I got my blood tested and surprised surprise my testosterone was actually BELOW the normal range. I was however for the most part asymptomatic (libido was fine and only slight lethargy). Naturally, I was quite disheartened by this as I'm currently only 25... I was really only looking for a slight boost in muscle mass to eventually achieve my current goal of 80 kg as I wasn't really sure what other avenues to use given my situation. Body building is a big part of my life right now and something that I am not prepared to give up.

I'll work hard on my main lifts and look to at least fix my shoulder problem and attempt to put on a few more kilos of muscle before cycling again.

Great community here, keep up the good work guys!

So totally agree with all the fella's have said below. You need food, rest and training to grow not AAS. But I don't see anyone addressing your question of the shoulder pain/subacromial bursitis. What makes you think this is caused by estrogenic effects of the cycle? I have plenty of experience running cycles and with shoulder injuries - including subacromial bursitis. I have never known this to be caused by the aas/side effects directly (confirmed by my sports physician and my orthopaedic surgeon). It's fairly common issue for body builders, power lifters etc. You should get into physio and work on shoulder mobility exercises and ensure proper warm up with dynamic stretching and sufficient warm-up sets. Pushing too hard on bench press is a very common way to injure the shoulder and will often present as subacromial bursitis. Next step would be to try an ultra sound guided intrarticular cortisone injection. And after that there are surgical options which should be avoided if possible. I have done all of these. The aas can of course allow you to push heavier than you are actually ready for and this be an indirect cause if your injury. I suspect this may be what has happened in your case. This is another reason why running aas at your age and weight without having build the muscle and strength natty to support the amount of weight you're pushing is not a good idea.

As to acne this is fairly common and there can be multiple causes particulalry if you are already prone to acne. There are lots of posts on this here and on other sites so use the magnifying glass uptop and Google to research further and for options to treat (and just to be clear I am not suggesting more drugs here)!!!! Again given your age and that your endocrine system is probably still developing (even at 25) if you are acne prone this is going to be a significant risk factor from a side effect perspective. Good luck and eat, rest and trim natty my friend and enjoy the ride doing this drug free.

Thanks for the detailed reply mate, much appreciated. I had always attributed my shoulder injury to a drop in estrogen as the two seemed to coincide, however what you say does make good sense. I have since switched to dumb bells which has helped slightly; my shoulder feels more uncomfortable now rather than painful. I have also made an effort to warm up my rotator cuff muscles before every chest and shoulder day as well as employ plenty of warm up sets. Is there anything else I should be doing to aid with my shoulder recovery?

I will take your advice and lay off the AAS for the mean time at least until I can fix my shoulder and build a stronger foundation. Thanks again for the informative reply!

Sounds like you're on the right track. There are plenty of dynamic stretches you can do pre workout with a resistance band. You should look into getting one of these. Google is your friend and look into a book called "How to Become a Supple Leopard". It's excellent for this and other things. You can and should use the resistant band and other techniques to do static stretches post workout or intra workout to help with this. If you could get to a physio they could also show you exercises and stretches that are specific to your injury. Keep the weight light and practice proper form. Good luck.

sounds to me like you shouldn't be running any cycles. Things are probably going to get worse if you keep cycling. Your body is not ready physically or hormonally.

Firstly ...
Why are you running a cycle at 25 and only being 80kg..couldn't you wait and give your body more time to mature and try increasing weight with food and a correct training program.

25 is just about cutting it fine when starting a cycle, but at 80kg also...wft fella, you need food not anabolics

Catalyst's picture

Bare in mind 80kgs is AFTER the cycle gains. 73kgs at start point......

cd1's picture

And we all know that the 7kg added isn't going to be muscle.
May be this guy isn't really 25...just a thought

Must have fucking hollow legs

In regards to the hair growth, the same happened for me. It doesn't go away. It only gets thicker and darker as you continue. I practically shave my whole body at this point.

Oh convenient you're 25

Have you had post cycle bloods done?
