+ 2 Mid 30's precycle prep questions

ad

Hello Gentlemen, I'm a brand new member here and before I ask a question, I'll list my stats for reference sake.

34 yr old
165 lb
12-14% walk around bf
5'8.5

Lifting for 8 years.
Stopped the 4 day a week schedule and just maintained for the last 2 years and worked on Triathlon training. Ran my first Olympic Triathlon later that same year, then a duathlon (biking and running) and 4 - 10k races which I sucked at but finished in the middle pack.

I dropped down to about 155 with all this cardio but was quick and could run 8 miles at an 8:30 pace which for me, is pretty damn good considering I was still muscular and anyone who still has a chest will agree that it starts to kill on your shoulders the faster you get.

I'm done running Triathlon's because believe it or not, its so hard on the body to continue at that level or progress. Plus, you end up looking like a twig compared to what you were. I still had great definition/size but my arms and legs were getting noticeably smaller(tighter?) and my calves were getting bigger from biking and running. I now have great stamina however, plus obliques for days so the trade off was worth it.

I've started lifting again this past month and I'm on a 5 day a week schedule doing a half circuit training routine since I'm trying to get every muscle active and not isolate yet. I've gained 4-6 lbs of clean weight and my size is starting to return where it should be.

The questions I have for you guys are the following :

  1. Whats the normal level of Test for a 34 year old? I'm going to get blood work done at each level but what should I even be looking for at my age as healthy or normal? Every source has a different answer, I'm curious as anyone else mileage on their bodies as in actual testing they've done. I exhibit no signs of low test at all, should I be waiting until it starts to drop or something?

  2. I see different manufactures making mixes of Test, they all are e,c,p, but is that still consider mixing compounds? To me, it doesn't since it's all test with different esters but is that something a new user should consider? Any benefits to mixes like this that are all still test? I've google'd reviews but none answer that question in particular.

  3. I still make gains and feel strong but I'm worried I'll miss my opening to use AAS effectively. I'm a lifestyle gym guy, its part of what I do on a daily basis so I'm not worried about losing gains or motivation (5:30 a.m since I started) but I don't want to wait to take them at 45 and miss my window to gain mass as opposed to taking them at 45 to compensate and try to get back to my shape 10 years prior, if that makes sense? Thoughts on guys my age thinking about this window to really break your plateau at an age?

  4. Even though I'm in shape etc, I'm giving myself a year of a 4/5 day a week schedule, alternating through different routines I've gathered throughout the years, to get as big as possible and to reach my genetic potential at my age before I take any AAS. I'm worried about how much time it takes to order and gather sources etc. I see orders that don't show up, incomplete, etc. Would it be wise to get enough for two cycles from two different sources? Its my body, I'm not fucking it up by not preparing, I'll spend anything to make sure I'm ok as I'm sure most of you agree. Like, tell me what you would have done if you did your first cycle over again, especially if you are my age because we all know how much different access to life is as a 34 year old as opposed to a financially limited 20 year old. Thanks in advance.

My plan is a conservative approach, 250 mg injections twice a week for 12-15 week cycle with all the appropriate AI, PCT, and blood work required of a man of my age lol. I can't believe I have to say that now, its a trip.

Anyway, thanks for reading and I'm looking forward to being around.

Sorry for being long winded.

Sounds like you have a solid plan.
1. "normal" varies for a lot of people. If you're over 600 total at 34 I'd consider you above average, but be sure to get free test and e2 done as well at minimum. Free test it was matters. You'll see a normal "range" on your bloodwork when you get it back next to your actual number. If you're in the mid range of that number you're in a great position.

  1. mixing esters is not mixing compounds, but it is adding a level of complexity that you don't want for your first cycle. I still don't fuck with blends. If you ever do get to the point that you want to mix esters, do it yourself so they can keep their own dosing schedules and ratios specific to your needs. But not your first cycle. Any benefit there may be in mixing esters (nothin is proven here but theorized and annecdotal), you will not notice or reap in your first cycle. Your plan outlined at the bottom is a good one, but you still need to read up a little more. I made this as a reference as to what to research before your first cycle. Check it out and use it as a check list as you're working towards your natural potential.
    https://www.eroids.com/forum/steroids-qa/steroid-cycles/answer-these-que...

  2. You're definitely not missing an opening to use AAS effectively. The closer you get to your genetic potential, the more you'll get out of them. Age is literally just that. an age. It sounds like you take care of your body and there are guys on here that did their first cycle at 40 and looked the best they have in their entire life. There is no window aside from are you healthy, responsible and close to your natural potential? If yes, then that's your opening. Not an age range.

  3. This is a very good outlook to have and plan to get close to your natural potential first. If you research and read through reviews, you shouldn't have to order 2 cycles from two sources. You have a while before you need to get anything, take that time to figure out where it will be from. You may want to buy from different places. You might want your test from place A, but they might not have pharma AI or PCT, so you may want to go somewhere else for that. Don't risk your health with UGL AI and PCT though. That's all I'll say about what to buy. Aside from that. Get a little bit more than what you think you need for each item (bottles break, you might need more AI than you think, you may have to extend PCT.. shit happens), but it doesn't have to be done all at once, and if you research your sources correctly you should be in good shape. Knock on wood, but i've never had anything not show up, and it's always come in a reasonable time frame. The one time I had to wait a while, it didn't matter, I just waited for it to come. There's no ticking clock that's about to run out and no need to rush. But if you buy like 2 months ahead of time and research your sources, you'll be fine.

Good luck going natty. Seems like you have a decent plan and know what works for you since you've been into various forms of fitness for a long time now. In the meantime we're here to help, should questions arise that you can't find the answers to yourself.

Oh, and I know you're new. But the reply button to someones post is on the top right of their post. use it or they may not know you responded Smile

Oh and regarding the test levels, I've seen certain sources say 200 is optimal for my age.

Others would recommend levels around what you mentioned.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2544367/

In that entire research article, it sources about 8 different studies and none of them have a mean average anywhere or a sliding scale for age or its too statistically irrelevant to post.

Its like I don't really know where I stand test wise. I feel great but I'm trying to time my decline in T with my future use I suppose. It may be impossible, who knows. My goals are the same, to use when appropriate or when my body asks, but I'd like to be as scientific as possible.

Thanks for the response again.

When you get you blood tested for total testosterone they show a range of what's "normal" next to your actual number. Go to my profile (click my name here) and then go to "pics" on the green bar. Look at any of those bloods that I've posted. Normal range used to be 264 – 1100. They just changed the range to 264 – 916. 200 is absolutely not "normal" and if you're at 200 you're out of normal range and would need to go see a doc if you couldn't get that number up through natural methods first.

That being said, the free test is the more important number as far as how you'll feel and your muscle building capabilities. If you're in the 300's for total, but your free test is in the mid teens (range is 8.6 – 25.1), you're still in good range. you know? But no, 200 is not "normal". That's clinically low testosterone. 264 – 916 is normal range, but at our age, 600+ is great.

and you replied correctly lol

You got a + from me for having a good mind set and going into everything the right way.

PS. I looked at that study. We're not "aging". We're not spring chickens but we're still some of the younger ones on here. not even 40 yet lol

Cool thanks brother.

Off to get a blood test, I'm going to make an appointment with my primary.

p.s. - I know but I'm into preventative maintenance. Plus, it feels like yesterday I was turning 30, blink, I'm 34.

Its surreal how quickly its going.

DfromPhilly's picture

no problem. good luck.

yea I hear ya. I'm in the same boat. And i know man. I'm a year younger than you but I swear it goes faster every year... I can only imagine how fast it's going for guys in their 50's

Thanks alot. Your response is so detailed and concise, it answered everything I wanted to know.

I learned about testing sites for aas that run pretty cheap so I'm going to order and test before I try it. Another friend of mine is in the same boat and we are considering timing our cycles together.

I'm going to overbuy everything. I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it, thanks for the advice there as well.

Thats really all I needed to know, thanks alot for your time. Looking forward to posting a log sometime in the future.

hope I clicked the right reply this time Smile

I can eat at different levels to suit my needs. Lately, its been to gain weight so I'm eating about 3,000-3500, 4 big meals and 3 small ones throughout the day, starting at 6:00 a.m. I don't gain weigh easily, but I've learned to eat big to gain weight throughout the years.

My gf is a triathlete and works in the medical field. We juice, we eat meat, salads. We take beta alanine, bcaa during workouts and do some yoga/stretching to keep honest.

I know I'm the same way with gaining weight it took a lot of work for me to put on weight and it's taking a lot of work to keep it lol
