First cycle

ad

I've finally decided to go through with my first cycle. I've been researching for a while and have given it a lot of thought.
My first cycle is going to be a 8 week test-e cycle and nolva 40/40/20/20 and clomid 100/100/50/50 for pct.

I'm looking for advice on how my diet and training should change. I have a pretty consistent routine (PPL) and I work pretty hard to eat clean 90% of the time.

I'll be honest there is nervousness about the first pin.

I've read that the two work better together, clomid and nolva. Just drop the doses for light cycles

helloBrooklyn's picture

You're recommending an OTC "AI"?

Bkaddy's picture

The nolva and Clomid dosing was what I feel to be the middle ground between all the different dosing protocols.

Also I tracked what I normally eat throughout the day and you all were right, I'm a good bit under the bulking target. So that's what I'm going to focus on for at least the next 16 weeks.

There is only one dosing protocol for Nolv that is correct. It doesn't involve a frontload. This means you haven't actually researched Nolvadex or PCT properly.

CBBurrr's picture

Please tell me what that is.

20mg/steady state dose, throughout

CBBurrr's picture

What makes that one correct? And the Taper style incorrect?

I've done 20/20/10/10 and had good results. checked with mid pct b;lood work even

Please note I said 20mg / steady state dose, which should read 20mg standard/clinically effective dose at steady state. Standard dose being the recommended dose for women receiving estro exclusion therapy with tamoxifen (i.e. bringing estro to unmeasurable levels). Naturally the eventual medically recommended dose for men, should such clinical studies ever be done and tamoxifen be moved to a male also treatment, would be lower given the pro rata estro-levels in men, therefore 20mg is based on the known standard clinically effective/recommended dose.

Re: lower doses, they might fall into the clinically effective dose category (minimum effective dose), but still a taper is not needed, just the steady state working dose. If you have played with Tamoxifen and found that lower sweet spot, this is a good thing for you and still fits the rule/protocol, however it should not be recommended for others as a protocol as it is your subjective dose discovered through trial and error.
Re: tapering/frontloading - It does nothing for you. It has been proven with frontloading that although it gets tamoxifen plasma levels to steady state faster, it doesn't generate clinical response any faster or better than the lower standard dose.
Do you remember our discussion on Ai/SERM interactions in plasma versus efficacy on estro management and how confusing it is if you just look at it a certain way or get fooled by ambiguous language? Well this is very much so related... The plasma levels do not account for activity at the actual receptors. Therefore, if 10mg is your clinically effective dose, frontloading for 2 weeks and dropping for 2 weeks does nothing for you. (I know you like to play with other estro mgmt tools like ai's when on PCT, but this absolutely cannot be referred to as a standard PCT protocol and is still unrelated to tamox itself but is to estro - too delicate a balance to be anything other than completely subjective)

Yeah I see a couple different ways when I search. The one profile I read even says 10-40mgs ED. To my lowly knowledge that seems to be a big window.

giardap's picture

Try researching how the compound itself actually works instead of looking at people on the internet's suggestions. It will give you a greater understanding and serve your health much better.

There are lots of ways to do a PCT,
I did my first with 3 serms at low doses

torem, nolva and clomid and it kicked up the production of LH and FSH just like it oughta

Good to see you are rethinking. x2 on all the advice below. However, something needs to be hammered home, to save you time, expense, energy and so forth, in the future, and to give you something else to really develop knowledge in when you research that is extremely valuable when nailed..

Question: Why are you suggesting to frontload Nolv in your PCT?
Give an honest answer to that, im curious to hear your truthful answer...

Bkaddy's picture

Thank you all for the advice. Asking people with more experience/knowledge than me has saved me from some of the mistakes I see others commonly make. And if every ones advice is similar, there has to be something to it right?

Im experimenting with ways to manipulate my body with only food right now and tbh I never really understood what the big deal was because "its only food" but I will tell you it is amazing what can be done. I was complimented so much when I carbed up after going low carbs because I was so vascular. I loved it. Anyway, like said below dont eat when your hungry, make a plan with the proper amount of calories, protien, fats, carbs and stick to it. Eat every couple of hours. There are tons of good recipes on this site if your looking for ideas. I make probably 80% of my meals on the weekend so they are ready and makes it easier to stick to a plan

I was looking to bulk up, but maybe I should just hold off. I just have a lot of trouble eating enough to put on any serious weight. I end up walking around 8 miles a day and do landscaping for ten hours a day. Any recommendations on increasing my appetite then?

helloBrooklyn's picture

Yeah. Don't go based off of appetite. Make a plan in advance, figure out how you're going to hit your target caloric intake, and stick to it consistently. If you're struggling to eat it all, GOOD. You're doing it right then. I work a labor job too. You can pack a cooler with several premade meals in it.

I eat a lot of small meals through out the day breakfast is the hardest for me so I make a protein shake with peanut butter 6 eggs raw oats pecans and a banana that helps stimulate my appetite so come 9:00 am I'm hungry and I drink the same shake before bed

The guys below have all given good answers and advice , you would be wise to listen to them.

So with your type of work half the problem is simply eating enough. Your burning calories all day long and to gain weight you need to be in a surplus. That part is pretty simple math. Try getting an app to track calories burned during an average work day. You could try to start at 500 cals over your maintenance. This means you will need to keep track of what you burn and what your eating. Most people that have trouble gaining weight think they are taking in more cals then they actually are. One of the best things to do to stimulate appetite for me at least is to eat as soon as you get up. This gets the metabolism going and I have a better chance of eating all throughout the day. With your work you will need to eat a lot and often. Give it a shot. Wait on the cycle.

and you should be, sometimes guys dont bounce back to there perfect 26 year old natty test levels.

You should give a more comeplete break down of your stats and goals

Jayzgainz's picture

Bro, you can definitely grow more without gear based on your stats. Food is the most anabolic thing going. My thought would be to up your caloric intake a bit, recalculate your macros in a surplus but dont overdo it unless you want to get fat. If you do decide to use aas do yourself a favor and research more. Particularly esters, and half lives. And if your that nervous about pinning...dont

With your stats I assume you're gonna bulk up here. How many cals you plan on taking in? What breakdown of macronutrients?

PPL is fine. A lot of guys including myself prefer body part splits simply because it's fun and it's easy to hone in on weaknesses. But PPL works extremely well for naturals so there's no reason it won't work when you're enhanced.

Have you considered cracking, say, 200 pounds without steroids first?
