Are there particular compounds that are especially stressful on the Kidneys?

ad

I looked through the eroids archives first, but I couldn't find the answer, hence the post. For those that do regular on cycle blood work, has anyone had their creatinine level rise to a questionable level or with that or by itself had a rising or abnormal BUN or a lowering of eGFR? If so, was anybody able to conclude that for some, anyways, certain compounds in particular can stress the kidneys to the point that it becomes visible in lab work. I am looking for specific drugs within the arsenal of compounds. We know that excessive use of 17 alkylated orals is going to show a rise in anybody's AST and ALT - that we all see and it's common. Personally, I have even had Tren slightly elevate my liver enzymes. If the answer is that nobody has seen an adverse impact on kidney function in their bloodwork, that is a good answer as well. I would LOVE that answer, but I suspect I will hear otherwise. If a bunch of people want to know why I'm asking, I will be happy to talk about it but I'm not sure it adds much. The archives are filled with info on kidney care, but this is a different question. You can always find articles and clippings and WebMD type info making the assertion that "steroids are bad for the kidneys." But they never add any meat to such a broad assertion making it a baseless claim. The only "real" data on this rests in a community like this one. People that cycle and get bloodwork done (which should be everyone that cycles).

I'd imagine any kidney damage that comes from steroid use is likely to be from the high blood pressure that often comes with it. I think that's the reason why people often say that tren can lead to kidney problems since it seems to be notorious for massively increasing blood pressure. Things like superdrol as well could likely cause some kidney problems due to the minor diuretic effect that it seems to have. Other compounds that can have this diuretic effect would probably also cause these problems. IMO its unlikely there will be any direct damage to the kidneys from steroid use in the way there is on the liver and the heart, but that indirect damage from other side effects could potentially cause some problems.

Thanks bro. My nephrologist backs u 100% on that. Unchecked high blood pressure will slowly destroy the kidneys. I am recovering from kidney failure after pneumonia shut down most of my systems and the sepsis touched the pericardial sac and stopped my heart. I was in the hospital for 5 weeks. We didn't know if the kidneys would come back on line or not. I left the hospital in kidney failure. My legs were swollen beyond recognition because the water wasn't getting removed. But, they suddenly started to work again after 5 weeks of shut down. My legs are normal now and I'm back in the gym. That is what has led me to ask this question. Has anybody ever used a particular roid that showed up in blood work as having an adverse impact on kidney function?

Thanks bro as I'm sitting at my desk sipping on my bottle of ISOPURE whey isolate!!!! Smile Smile 40g pure potential ammonia. I'm kinda hoping that those in this community that do get labs done regularly may have noticed an impact on the kidney function values in the basic metabolic panel when they're running let's call it compound Z.

  • 1 on the mention of protien. Guys forget that excessive protien can be worse than excessive oral anabolics in some cases.

You know, I just found that out after a lifetime of training like - a week ago. Seems like that FACT and it is a fact, is not well known or understood. We're all conditioned to think the more protein, the better, and what you don't need you will excrete. Not realizing or thinking about organs like the kidneys working overtime to process out ultra high levels of protein metabolites. Has anybody ever written an article about that here?

Not that I remember.....but I do make it a point to get high quality whey---ON's Gold Standard for me..:)
