Steroids in Hockey

ad

Just curious because not too many people talk about it around here, but I'm just wondering what everyone's opinion is with steroids in hockey. I myself am a firm believer that 99% of professional hockey players are using some sort of AAS. The explosiveness, aggresssion, and attitude all scream super human to me.

Having played the game for the past 33 years, coached it at many levels including junior programs in Canada... I can tell you that the use of AAS's etc is widely used and not at all looked at negatively as it has become for some of the other top 5 sports... Only speaking for myself and my experiences around the sport of hockey, I feel that the difference between hockey and maybe baseball is that the way/types of AAS's used/purpose and goal is vastly different in hockey than baseball... the desired muscular development, muscle groups/mechanics and implementation of these are not the same "end results" that are sought-after for a baseball player...

My brother in law played pro. I'll have to ask him when I see him next. I played hockey growing up. That aggression is ingrained in you at a young age.

I agree with you. I played ice for 16 years. The aggression is definitely engrained at a young age. I just watch the pros play though and their level of compete is endless and they just don't take shifts off ever. I understand they're pros, but as an AAS user myself seeing the athletic benefits, its hard to think that they're not using also.
