The Most well rounded Professional Body builder

ad

What I'm asking is What Body Builder from the 60's to Now do you think has the least flaws or the most Complete physique .

My choice is Flex Wheeler , the dude is basically perfect.

But If you take Lee Haney's waist and put it on a 2009 Jay Cutler it's pretty much game over no one could ever touch that.

Mike Mentzer when he was on or Lee Haney,
It’s a coin toss,
However Lou Ferrigno, Robby Robinson and Dave Draper are still jacked. If I’m looking at this as a lifetime, lifestyle perspective I’d rate them. 1. Robby
2. Draper
3. Big Lou

Robby and Draper are older and stayed closer the whole time to there prime. That’s why I’m putting Lou at 3.

Find it hard to argue which one was the best of all time.
I think you have to go by the period or era that the BB's were in. And pick them from that era. Its obv. changes numerous times and there are several variables that play into it.

Although not the most aesthetic to look at - I was always a big Nasser fan because of his massive thickness and strength he had:

I met Nasser years ago. Super nice guy to.
His sister was actually very petite.
He talked to me in great detail and was kind enough that send me some autographed photos when he returned to Cali.
I’ve still got them in the envelope they were mailed in.
Damn shame what happened.

Wow that's cool man! :-)

Bro, ElSombaty, reading his post, I was just thinking of this dude. I kinda feel people dont give Lee Priest enough credit either. Franco had a crazy upper body also.

bigbain's picture

Although very short, I have always been a big fan Lee priest.

How many guys have you seen doing 315 Behind the neck?! Lol

bigbain's picture

Not too many other than power lifters.......however it is something I use to do reps with at 24 years old believe it or not.

Jesus Christ my shoulders would just slide right out of the sockets.

Dude is a Beast.

Nicolai's picture

That's insanity! Dude's huge. I remember seeing a clip from Ronnie, talking about how ElSombaty had a beautiful body.

Dexter Jackson.....
Greatest physique over the past twenty years?!

Sam I Am's picture

I can’t disagree with that.

I always thought Lou ferrigno was one of the best. I believe he would have won first if he wasn’t up against Arnold Schwarzenegger.

A lot of people don't realize how big Lou actually was.,no homo..,esp. for his time.

Height, 6 ft 4 in (1.93 m). Weight, 285 lb (129 kg) (1975) 315 lb (143 kg) (1992).

Yea Lou is a once in a generation type of Bodybuilder , just in a league of his own.

Spark's picture

Holy shit he is a freak and makes Arnold look like a teenager next to him. He could throw Arnold across the stage like the Hulk does..,lol
Image what Lou would like if he was born later and completed in the late 90's with the mass monster. Having him on growth, all the different PEDs, more food, and running all the newer gear at high doses.
Prob be 360-380 in off season.

bigbain's picture

Keep in mind......Lou came back and competed again in the 90's ,and if I remember correctly switched to the master's.
He was bigger than ever this time around and certainly although it was the 90's looked as if he was on much more modern "stuff".

He'd look worse.
He, Arnold and others from that period back are aesthetically pleasing.
Today, they're freakishly large.

heavymetalmonsterD's picture

I totally agree..I'm glad the mens classic physique category was created..it's perfect for guys going for symmetry over size

I am not saying he would look better. But would be interested to see how freakishly large he would be.

maddogg's picture

There was a picture of him in Muscle and Fitness from a good while back. They had him listed at 6’5” 320, posing next to another bodybuilder who was 4’11” 143 lbs. it looked faked, but it wasn’t. He was quite literally more than twice his size. The 4’11” dude looked huge, he was just short. If you can find that picture, it looked unreal.
