+ 1 Thoughts on sugar free drinks

ad

What are your opinions on zero sugar drinks?

Personally I try keep away as when I’m strictly dieting I am ridiculously strict probably too over the top.
Thinking of maybe having a few a week like a can of monster ultra which literally has 0 sugar and 15kcal and likes of Coke Zero is 1kcal and 0 sugar so surely they can’t impact your physique with pretty much zero everything.
I know they’re obviously full of chemicals which are not great but so is everything in our western world.

What’s your take on zero sugar beverages and can they in any way impact the way your physique look?

I love soda, but I think the zero sugar are probably just as bad for your internally, besides the extra sugar. They say Coca Cola can take the paint off of a car. People use it to unclog their drains, and cleaning companies clean filthy toilets and sinks. Can you imagine what it’s doing to our insides? I’ve cut back a lot lately and substituted it with V8. I figured I might as well drink something I enjoy. I can only drink so much water, and beer isn’t an option on cycle. At least, not for me, LOL

They cause cancer and are really bad for your brain. Most were banned until Donald Rumsfeld did some shady shit to make it look like they didn't cause cancer. Sugar isn't good for you period but fake sugar is a lot worse than real sugar.

I listened to a discussion on the radio recently discussing real sugar drinks bs artificial sweetned drinks because a new study had just come out confirming they do cause cancer and I believe cardio issues. They guy asked the scientist/doctor lady which was better and she said avoid both if possible but if you have to have one then go with the real sugar in small quantities.

Well, consuming large amounts of artificial sweeteners, such as those found in zero-sugar drinks, may be associated with negative health outcomes, such as weight gain and an increased risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. So I try to avoid them and use them only when I really do not want to have extra calories

I've never been a big soda drinker, though I do like an energy drink on occassion (used to be a few a week, now down to once a month or so). Since going low carb, I stick with the Monster Ultra since it is the best value for the money and I prefer the flavour over Red Bull. I like Bang energy drinks as well as they are zero sugar and zero calorie, but they aren't available where I currently live. I've never noticed any harm done by them, but I probably drink them too infrequently to tell if they did.

Still has fake sugar in it which is worse…

I didn't have any soda for years. Sugar free or not. Even fruit juice off season or in a cut so i am probably even stricter than you lol 1 coffee in the morning, rarely a green tea/herbal tea in afternoon. Beside that WATER. That's it. I just don't feel the need for any drinks, soda, energy drink etc.

If it's zero calories it won't affect much your physique. But it can affect digestion and kill your appetite. It affects the microbiome and like you said full of chemicals. On the long term If you want to pack as muscle as humanely possible I would keep my digestion intact. And just take super easy digestable food.

I eat whatever I want or else I get cranky. I main source of liquid is crystal light green tea peach mango. Same thing applies with food. I don’t have a big appetite but I eat what I want and if I am picking up McDonald’s for kids you can be sure I’m getting a meal for myself. That’s just torture otherwise.

Some have pretty significant sodium content which can make you hold water so if tryin to cut down be careful of the sodium content .

Yeah, that’s accurate. What happens is that the artificial sweetener “tricks” the body into storing much more of the incoming calories as fat for later use, so whatever calories you’re taking in with or around the zero-calorie drink will be stored instead of used right away. Also, there is so much published peer-reviewed science behind nearly all artificial sweeteners triggering aggressive tumors & autoimmune disorders that it is puzzling they are still used so freely.

There are rat studies or petri studies showing negative impacts of non-nutritive sweeteners but there are no human studies. In the rat studies for aspartame, the dosage would be similar to an average adult having a pound of aspartame per day. The dose makes the poison. Aspartame is broken down in the body into aspartic acid (an amino acid) and methane (lower quantity of methane than when you eat tomatoes) so it’s fairly safe to consume, unless you consume greater than 3 12 packs of sugar free soda a day.

0 cals is 0 cals bro

diet drinks can be a great way to curb a sweet tooth when dieting like a bodybuilder

I would be more worried about excessive caffeine making you hold water
