Isotretinoin and hair loss
I'm wondering if anyone else experienced hair loss while taking or after stopping isotretinoin. I have been taking steroids 20+ years more time on than off and always had full thick hair. I have also always cut my own hair. This past winter I noticed my hair thinning along the top, more so on the left side where my hair normally parts. The right side looks fully and not as thin.
It could just be I'm getting older. I know hair loss may run in the family but my father had cancer in his 40s and lost a lot of his hair and its thin now so I really cant really gauge going on that, I asked my mother about my grandfather and she cant really remember. I'll have to dig around for old photos to see.
The only new things I have taken in the past year is Anavar and isotretinoin, never have taken them before. I took the Anavar specifically because I'm getting older and read its safer I guess. I took low dose isotretinoin, 20mg/day to help with acne/cysts I was getting and it worked great, no complaints. I took it while on cycles, for 100 days straight, took a little break then took it for 50 days straight. Last time I took and stopped the isotretinoin was this past fall. Month or two later is when I noticed the thinning hair.
I searched around for isotretinoin hair loss and sure enough theres quite a lot of people, girls/women with horror stories with hair loss. A few of them have updates saying its growing back after a few months which is great for them, cant imagine being a female with major hair loss. Mostly from younger woman, and I'm older.
Just seeing anyone's experience with isotretinoin. At first I thought it was a great product and was recommending it, now not so much. I read Ketoconazole 1% shampoo may help with hair loss so I picked some up and use it daily.

Retinoids can cause Telogen effluvium, fortunately though unlike AAS it’s not hormonal. High levels of vitamin A and the reduction of sebum are essentially what can cause it. It’s not permanent, just try not to use to many compounds that will cause shedding in the meantime. What worked for me was rosemary oil on my crown and hairline and castor oil before bed, cover your entire head with the castor and rub it in. Then I’d use my ketoconazole, and keeps make a thickening conditioner. Basically don’t let your scalp/hair get to-dried out.
Accutane can cause hair loss mate. Often only short term though, so nay well return.
Won't Anavar too with it being a DHT bud?
And I was also running Proviron at the time. Though from my research it looks like I should have a greater chance of hair loss from D-bol and Test in general, and I have always been using them and never noticed hair loss/thinning.

I ran Accutane in the early days when I resembled a pizza lol It gave me horrendous cottonmouth like a St Bernard LMAO
I took 10mg/day for 4 months to clear up some cystic acne, it worked amazing, haven’t had an issue since. Can’t help you with the hair loss for mine was already long gone
I think it works fantastic at clearing up skin and was thinking about adding it whenever I do a heavy cycle. But now with realizing the hair loss I don't want to do it again.
