Post Cycle and Maintenance

ad

Been working out since my 20’s. I just completed a 12-week cycle of test-e 300 mg/week, and could use advice for post cycle and ongoing maintenance.

I came late to the game at 55. First cycle. I’ve been plateaued quite a few years and was looking for a boost. I’m 5’10" and went from 180 to 194 lbs. No sides except sore ripples for a few weeks. I did not take bloods during the cycle, but prior it was:

Total Testosterone: 610 ng/dL
Free Testosterone: 77.7 pg/dL

Prior to the cycle, I increased my macros to about:

190 g protein, 280 g carbs, 80 g fat.

I plan PCT using Clomid 4-weeks - 50-50-25-25.

I’m looking to hold off on TRT for as long as possible, for now at least until my natural level is lower. My short term goal is to retain 50% of gains and reduce body fat.

I’m thinking it’s best to keep my current macros for the next two months and then get bloods to see where I’m at. At that time, I reduce my macros from 2600 kcal to 2000 kcal to trim fat while maintaining workout intensity.

Questions:

Stick with current PCT plan or extend Clomid for two months?

Does the diet plan sound good or should I start cutting calories sooner?

I’ll check blood in 2 months and again in 6. Reassess what I’ve retained. Options are to stay natural, do a low dose cycle 1x/ year, or TRT.

At 55 you might as well just go on TRT. I know you plan on running another cycle so can you wait 36 weeks including PCT before blasting again? Whatever you decide it always wise to get labs at least once a year and monitor your BP, 02 and glucose daily. Diet can always be better, but you don't specify types of carbs or fats. Diet defines your gains and mood. Keep it simple and real!

Thank you. Good advice. My T levels were not considered low so the doctor wouldn't put me on TRT, but that's something I'm monitoring. If I did another cycle I'd probably wait nine more months. I want to see if I can retain some gains from the first one, and lower the body fat a bit.

My diet improved considerably when I got a remote job and could move to five meals per day. Most of my fats are coming from protein sources like eggs and chicken. The carbs are mostly from potatoes, vegetables, and fruit in a protein shake. Improving diet was one of the factors helping me get the most out of this first cycle.

First cycle is always the best. PCT can be a bitch. I suggest you research it before you completely come off your cycle. Clomid on its own is not enough! Hurry and use a domestic site as you don't have much time before you start losing your gains.
