Blood work, first cycle

ad

Howdy folks, I’m going to be running my first cycle this week of only test e 400mg a week.

Based of my testosterone lvls, does anyone have any input on this dose?

Age - 32
Height - little over 6 ft
Weight - around 160

Free test - 60.2
Total test - 398

Any input on these levels and dosage is much appreciated

Did you get any blood work done before starting this cycle? Without a baseline, not a great deal to take from here otherwise. Sounds like you could have been experiencing low testosterone levels with some of the symptoms you’ve described, but obviously we can’t be sure without that.

On face value, think you’ve you’ve dived in a bit quick here fella. 6ft plus, 160lbs and you’ve not really been training by the sound of it. Steroids are the icing on the cake, not the cake. If you had low test, maybe a TRT discussion with a doc, but running a cycle isn’t the path to follow until all the other ducks are in a row.

Thank you for the info, these are my current levels without doing anything. Going to a TRT clinic might be out of the question due to no insurance. Than again, I haven’t really looked into the cost, I just know the cost of almost all medical stuff in the states is ridiculously expensive.

Maybe I should drop the starting dose to 250mg/wk. Most of my research was following a friends advice before I found this forum from Reddit. I have been in the routine of M-Thursday in the gym lately and plan on keeping that routine, I’ve also added creatine and protein to my daily consumption to get my weight up.

I tend to fast every morning so its tough to get calories in early, my appetite has seemed to increase in the mornings since focusing on my food intake though.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. Your current test levels are what would be deemed acceptable.

Seems like you need to work out your diet with this “fasting” you mention. If you’re not eating in the morning, you’re not going to build muscle effectively. could also be contributing to some of the other symptoms you described. If you want to gain weight, it’s not just protein and creatine you need, it’s carbs too. Personally I don’t think a cycle should even be on your radar and you should build at least some kind of base naturally, but obviously it’s your journey. Realise that takes patience, but reality is if you use steroids and don’t eat properly you’ll never hold onto the gains anyway.

Do you know why it says out of range on the results in blue, when your levels are in range?or is that just where they would write in your levels if it was out of range?

Anyways, if your looking to just have high normal levels then the dose is too high, and if your looking to run a cycle then it’s a perfect dose. Some guys would say you should start at 500 and some guys say you start at 250, so 400s a good compromise lol.

Also, how long have you been training? To be six foot

I’m not sure what the “Out of range” means, this is my first time ever having any blood work done.

I’ve been working out off and on over the past couple years, nothing serious. This whole journey started due to feeling like crap. I’ve been running my own business for 3 years and we’re looking to expand this year. The last 12 months or so I’ve been feeling like a slug, unmotivated, and like a train hit me every morning.

I’m looking to bulk up/cut up, but also to just feel better and have more energy in general. A friend of mine told me to start at 500mg/wk for my first cycle but from what I’ve seen and learned in my research, start lower and go up.

Idk what happened but I never finished writing my comment. What I was gunna say was, that you could gain a lot more naturally and get a lot more benefit from starting gear when you’ve gained more naturally. I think in the end you’ll be limiting how much you’ll be able to grow overall. And you may regret starting so early on. But having low test and feeling like crap can really effect your quality of life so you might get some benefits from starting now and there’s benefits to waiting so it’ll just be up to you, obviously lol
