+ 1 IGF-1 linked to cancer

ad

Found a very interesting study that I thought I would share. Here is what I thought to be most important excerpt,
"Individuals with supra-physiologic levels of GH (acromegaly) appear to have an increased risk for cancer development, possibly via an IGF1-mediated mechanism[3,23]. Conversely, patients with Laron syndrome (IGF1 deficiency and insensitivity to GH) seem have a lower cancer risk than their relatives[24,25]. The influence of circulating IGF1 has been documented in mouse models of tumor development [26]. However, there is a clear distinction between murine and human IGF axis. While mice present high IGF1 and almost undetectable IGF2 levels in the postnatal life[19,27], postnatal human IGF1 remains at low concentrations. In addition, human IGF2 is not only highly secreted but also functionally relevant beyond birth."

They also did a study on tuna and peanut butter and said those who eat a lot of it were also getting cancer. Those who eat more then 2 times a day are getting cancer. I won;t get into a big debate on it but my opinion is if you have cancer running in your gene pool; you are at higher risk period. If you do not have cancer or anyone in your family die from it then the only real way you will get it is if you expose yourself to great amounts of cancer causing substances. That doesn't mean to go and roll around in a tub full of asbestos, peanut butter and tuna. Let's face it; as soon as your born your dying.

tuna is very poluted, very high in mercury so there is a point
peanutbutter tho... no idea how that works

But your comparance doesnt make sense at all. IGF is one of the most powerful promoters of cancer growth ever discovered for cancers of the breast, prostate, lung, and colon
It not metter of opinion its a fact but afcourse some at higher risk then others

That would share to the guy's with family history Of cancer and also using or thinking of using IGF-1.
