Possible low test levels

ad

I had bloods done not so long ago and my test levels came back at 288. Seems very low to me. I do drink daily and it's been about 7 months since I was on cycle, but last time I was on it was for about 10mths. I went through pct and supplemented with hcg on and off through out the 10 months. Question is would my test levels be this low if I didn't drink daily of is it maybe from the 10mth run. Libido is lower than usual but is still there . Any feedback appreciated. That being said I do drink about a pint of whiskey daily but wouldn't think it would crush test levels that much. I'm 33 yrs old. 19 percent bf diet is ok but I have always been able to eat what I want and do cardio to drop bf to about 14 percent. Only lifting 3 days a week tops right now and no cardio. I'm not looking for bs critisism just some feedback. Thanks

Congrats on quitting the alcohol. It will help with your overall sense of well being. See how eliminating the alcohol improves the quality of how you feel etc. Eating properly and training right.
Talk to your doctor about TRT. It will do wonders for your outlook on life, energy, etc.
Let us know how it goes!

I'm newly on TRT. my bloods came back at 268. 4 years ago I was at upper 300's. I used to use Androgel. Thats a pain in the ass, every day gel is just inconvenient. I was not good at that. So this time I read shots are way more effective. I wanted to get a grip on the low T level. Its a major cause in depression. My Dr put me on 200 Test Cyp biwkly. (that can change to weekly after your into it) Man, I was 1 month into that and felt so much better mood wise. I started to lean down some without trying. My training got much better too. You should definately look into that. Newly married you definately dont want depression to kick in, especially if it runs in the family, like mine does. Good luck!
Hopefully you are starting to also think about kicking the drinking too. Best of luck. Thats a life long task too.

That's how I've felt. Depressed not much sex drive, increase in bf. Quitting drinking has helped some mentally although it has not been that long. I'm going to try 1/2to 1 ml of sciroxx hexadex I recently obtained. That. Should put some fire back in me. I felt worse for 4 mths now. Wife thinks I'm full of shit and bs-ing her. I'll update later. Thanks bro

Down below you stated that you recently quit drinking. That's the greatest gift you can give yourself brotha. Alcohol is poison to the human body and from everything I've read and have been told it can inhibit nutrient absorption, damage the entire digestive system, esophagus, stomach, intestine, liver...etc. Also alcohol tends to edge out food in the diet. I've been there, holiday binges where you just nibble on chicken wings or veggies, just enough food to keep from passing out. My fellow eroiders have you covered on that 10 month cycle, so I'll leave that alone. Best of luck to you, keep us posted and friend request a few of us. Always here to help, or point you in the general direction. ~~~~later

Thanks bro. And yep that's basically been me. I used to drink on weekends and started drinking daily when I was going through a wedding and custody of my kid and working 70 hrs a week not making it to the gym much and it happened all at once. I just got married in October and now have my boy full time and was shrinking like mad. Alcoholism runs in my FAM. I hope not drinking will help to turn all this around and not need try. I will def keep the cycles to 12 weeks then break. I honestly figured with the HCG on and off throughout the cycle would stop me being shut down. Ya live n learn

What did your doc say about your levels being 288ng/dl?

lttlsean's picture

Nothing. Said it was in the range. But I know its low. I feel it in my enegry levels and libido. And I

UncleYoked's picture

We're the same age. I think the bottom end for us is around 350. You're low and any doc that says otherwise needs to be kicked in the dick. I'd find another doctor if it were me. No telling what else they could be missing.

lttlsean's picture

Yeah no shit. When she sent me for bloods she left out a bunch of shit. Estro, Lh, FSH? So I we used to check the boxes in what I wanted checked before going in. I found my blood work just been lazy on posting it

What kind of doctor said it was in range? It's in range on the test levels but not in range for normal sexual function. I just started HRT and my level was 399 and I was feeling a bit lathargic and my libido tanked. The reason I went to an official male hormone doctor was because my first doctor (a urogolist) said those levels were fine and he gave me no script. My hormone doctor said a man needs to be in the 1000 range and that is his goal to get me too. I'm on 400 mg/day of gels and 50 units of HCG M/W/F. Huge difference.

How much test are you on?

Alcohol is a major suppressor of testosterone. It also has catabolic properties, holds salt and water which also contributes to higher estradiol levels. What were your E2 levels at? Also what were your FSH and LH levels. But more than likely it is as Yoke suggested and because you ran cycles for so long.

UncleYoked's picture

If I'm not mistaken, bourbon metabolizes at a quicker rate in the body than say beer wine. That's the reason most alcoholics who only drink liquor tend to be far thinner than those who drink beer. I think at that level of daily consumption, a host of things can be going on. Full blood panel with CBC, estro, test, ect needs to be done soon.

UncleYoked's picture

You've got some issues going on brother. You're test levels are low because you shut your natural production down running gear for way too long without a break. 19% bf is high for running gear, and with the amount of booze you drink you can hardly say your diet is ok. The whiskey isn't responsible for your low test. The poorly ran cycles have caused it. You need to talk to your doc about TRT. Probably need to quit drinking too. Gear and alcohol don't mix well. Get your liver enzymes checked ASAP as well.

lttlsean's picture

When I was running gear it was around 12-13percent but I figured I was the cause of my own demise. Hope I can get back to norm eventually. I drink like a fish and no that's no good combo. I'll post my bloods. Thanks

alloneword's picture

Drink daily? Like drink alcohol daily? I've read that booze will suppress natty test.

UncleYoked's picture

Not to that degree. His 10 month long run on gear without a break is more likely the cause.

alloneword's picture

I missed that. Ten months of on cycle will do it.

lttlsean's picture

Yeah I figured it might be the long cycle and not so much the booze. I recently just stopped drinking. I'm an alcoholic. I know that and since I came off gear I drink more and workout less. I'm trying to turn that around. I'll post my blood work so you guys can see cause isn't know what it all means. My n my wife want to start a family and I wanted to see where my levels are at. Hoping I didn't ruin myself to the point of not having kids. I told the doc what' I've done and why I wanted testing. Thanks for the input everyone. I appreciate the info

UncleYoked's picture

Btw, I've been TRT for a while and was still able to get my wife pregnant last year. I came off gear completely for about 6 weeks for blood work to see where I was at and my natty levels were about 5 points below normal. Just high enough to give momma another baby. The doctor can put you on an hcg protocol to help with that if you have issues in that area.

alloneword's picture

Good luck bro, hats off for your honesty.

lttlsean's picture

Hope I'm not shut down for good and unable to have more kids. I'm having bloods done again in a couple months after quitting the booze. Should I still consider trt though..?

UncleYoked's picture

Once your bloods come back, your doctor will go over some options with you, with the priority to try to get you back to normal. There's guys out there that have recovered after similar situations under doctor supervision. The lab results are really where your answers will be. I drank like crazy until I figured out my hormones where fucked up. Sat around depressed and fat. Went from about 220 and 8-9% bf to almost 300 and who knows how much body fat, but it was a lot. Started TRT and rarely touch alcohol now. I drank because I felt bad and I simply don't feel bad any more. Get your levels under control and maybe you'll be able to start drinking less as well.

lttlsean's picture

That's bro for all the input. That's where I'm at now and exactly now I feel. I'll locate my bloods and post them tmmrw. I think my doc was an idiot but she wasn't a trt doc either

UncleYoked's picture

I told a friend today, you've got to have a doctor that you're comfortable with. My doctor is actually my ex girlfriend. No kidding. It's awkward at times, but she knows everything I'm doing and I taught her well about AAS. Not everyone can be that fortunate though.
