What's Your Favorite Lift?
ad
First, I hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day Weekend.
I was working out yesterday and I got thinking about certain lifts that I love to do. After thinking on it for a few minutes, I realized that behind the neck press was my favorite lift to do. Why? I just like how I feel when I do it and I get an a amazing pump from it. It's an old school lift and I rarely see anyone do it anymore.
What is your all time favorite lift to do and why?

Laterals! Slow & controlled none of that bouncing chicken head shit, I love be able to see the muscles work.
Flat bench for me!
AnonDeadlift without question.
It seems strange but I don't know if I have a favorite lift. I do have a favorite body part, chest. Now that I think about it, maybe back is my favorite. I'm getting so confused now. I do like db bench presses and pull ups. At least I know that. I get a good feel and contraction in the muscles with those and the pumps are awesome.
I love the snatch, it's my ab solute favorite. I don't do it much anymore, but that one and the C&J have always been my favorites.
AnonI love the snatch to. Big girls can be a challenge though. Dont wanna pull nothing.
Don't we all.
Don't know if we all do? Does ace?
Haha!
I'll admit it. I laughed a little.
Deadlift
Lifting my fork to my mouth.
I ve seen you eat... you usually put your head down to your plate ;-)
I do tend to rush when I eat and bring my face close to my plate , many insist that I'm institutionalized but I'm not buying it =)
I love to dead lift ;-) and I like to go heavy there is nothing more satisfying (and painful) than moving large amounts of weight '-)
Preacher curls with barbell
Bent over barbell rows.....live that shit!
Svend press!!! Burns like hell cause pecs engaged at all times!!! And barbell hack squats!!!
Deadlift
Push press was my fav for years. Likely due to me holding my schools DLine record for it, but that was a long time ago. These days it varies, whatever causes me the least pain so I can move heavy weight without worrying about injury. 1 arm bent over rows is probably my current favorite.
T-bar rows. Old school with the barbell in the corner. Plus I think it looks cool with all the weight on one end. Ten 10's baby!
X2 you dont see very many people do these Something I always throw in on back day. Back is probably my favorite muscle group to work out
That's another old school lift. Love that one as well.
Squats sumo stance, heavy as hellll
TronI'm going to throw something out there for you guys to try if you haven't already.. The Turkish get up with a kettle bell..do 3 or for sets of ten on each side and see if it doesn't kick your ass Lol..used more for performance and functional strength rather than to build muscle..but my favorite for weight lifting has got to be the squat..just you vs the hundreds of pounds of weight on your back..bar digging into your flesh, bending over your traps..staring into the mirror knowing you are about to go for your new personal 1 rep max..then you do it!..that wonderful feeling of accomplishment and confidence leaves with you as you walk out of the gym.
As an added bonus, a great exercise for forcing any and all flatulence you may have built up straight out your ass.
TronLMAO!
I also love doing incline DB flyes, get a nice stretch and pump in the chest doing these. I've heard Vike was a huge proponent of incline exercises, anyone have any they'd care to share?
A 21 year old Blonde, as I perform my flag salute.
God I love. Being a vet around the summer!
Ace VenturaThat's a tough one. Once upon a time I probably would have said flat bench dumbbell press. Certainly not the most beneficial though.
1) clean and jerk
2) deadlift
3) squat
There's something about seing the bar bend that motivated the hell out of me.
Clean and jerk! That is a classic and not many people do it anymore.
My favorite lift out of them all, and probably the best one for raw power
I'm going to second pale here, I love my deadlifts.
I also have a newfound love for farmers walks, and zerchers.
I recently also began doing svend presses as a variation into my routine. Gives my pecs a nice pump. I've also seen a bunch of other guys start doing them since I started - always a great feeling when you begin a new movement in the gym lmao.
Deadlifts are fantastic and one of my top 5. Don't know zerches (maybe by another name).
Zercher squats, when you hold the barbell in the nook of your elbows and squat.
I would say my favorite lift is the dead lift. I don't really go heavy (315) but man, when you bust out reps you always feel them.
Dead's are always a fantastic lift. One that you really "feel". I think that's kind of what I was going for with this post. There are lots a lifts, but there are a few that you just make you feel good (which can include pain).
