TronThis is pretty cool... Maynard's best screams.

They have like 5 of the top ten most played on itunes right now. I think their new album is going to number 1 with a bullet
TronDamn.. have you seen how much those pre order CD's are going for on eBay?? Up to $100 for some of them and are sold completely out in most cases.
Wow, I have not. I do plan on buying it on itunes as well.
TronNow that they are JUST now releasing all their music via iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, etc.. the younger generation is gonna be like.. damn.. "This new band called Tool just came out and released 5 albums of the jump!"
Hahaha. That’s funny. It’s prob true too

hush. just posted on the 2nd by tool. looks like they just started a channel and threw all their stuff up.
they're letting people stream their stuff now on all platforms it seems. on amazon music too!
TronI went to see A perfect Circle on Halloween night right when they released the 13th step album. Maynard was dressed as a killer clown and when the song "Halo"came on he went to his knees swaying back and forth like he was in a trance lol. Super good. Some guy went out into the crowd and picked some girls to go back stage to meet the band afterwards. He picked 13 girls and my sister was one of them. I felt weird about it but she wanted to go. She said when she went back stage there were 13 roses placed separately. One for each girl. She said once they picked the roses up the band came out and talked to each girl. Maynard of course was not there and that's who my sister really wanted to meet. She met Billy Howerdell (I think that's how you spell his last name) and she just said it was weird. He was super awkward almost to the point of being shy.. awkward conversation. But nonetheless a unique experience.
Maynard is a super weird dude, I'm not surprised that his band members are too.
I don't know what your definition of weird is. The guy is a workaholic who also tries to enjoy some privacy.
I wasnt using the word "weird" in a negative way. To me, weird is a good thing. "Normal" is boring. The guy definitely has some crazy work ethic though, that's for sure.
That’s pretty cool. Yea I’d have mixed feelings about that but at least nothin happened lol. Pretty cool she got to meet them. Not surprised Maynard wasn’t there tho. I like a perfect circle but I’m more of a “hits” fan with them. Not like they’re on the radio but I like the more popular stuff and not as much of the slow stuff. I usually really like about half of each album lol. I tried getting into puscifer, and I like a couple songs but they don’t really do it for me.

Here's a recent upload.. unlike "ozninja" guy below.. I love this Tool style.. I love longer songs and I appreciate the intelligence and work it takes to put all the instruments and vocals together over 15 or 20 minutes.. to have them make sense and use completely complex different sounds.. then Maynard's vocals are just haunting... nobody can sound anything close to Maynard.. highly intelligent dude.. workaholic like Pale said.. has 3 highly successful bands.. has a vineyard where he markets his own wine.. and also takes time to train in mma.. mostly jiu jitsu where he's earned a purple belt through the Gracie family.. and for those of you that don't know it takes years to become a purple belt in jiu jitsu.. there's actually a video on YouTube of Maynard hip tossing a fan that runs up on stage to try and hug Maynard while he's performing.. Maynard takes his back and sinks the hooks in(grapevines his legs from behind).. then wraps the microphone cord around his neck and finishes the song.. it's not really violent or anything.. and the guys not resisting.. he's just liked tripped out on acid or something and I can only imagine what the fuck this guy is thinking with a head full of LSD.. a huge fan of tool.. now you're tripping balls with Maynard James Keenan on your back holding you down singing one of your favorite songs! Lol!... Super intense..
maynard fights a fan.. it starts at like 2 or 3 minutes into the video... Maynard tosses him pretty hard lol

I was just listening to that new one during my bench warmup last night on amazon music. When I saw the name I thought it was the whole album and got all hype then I realized it was just the title track lol
I like the longer stuff but I gotta be in the mood for it. Usually I only listen to music when I train so the slower more complex songs aren’t always great for that, but I love them in the car when I’m in the mood to listen to music instead of a podcast.
Their songs (especially the longer ones) are so complex they’re like mini symphonies. your right, his vocals are incredible. It’s just like adding another instrument to the song.
Plus I think Danny Carey is the best drummer I’ve ever heard.
And yea man Maynard is an animal. He does so many different things and seems to be good at all of them. I saw that video before it’s fuckin great. That dude’s got one hell of a story for the rest of his life lol.
As a drummer myself I am probably the biggest fan of Danny as well.
Nice. Didn’t know you were a drummer. I wish I played I always thought they were cool but never tried for some reason. I used to be able to play a mean piano though. Guessing It would come back to me if I worked on it for a few months. One of these days... ironically enough though drums are my favorite to listen too. That’s why I listen to jazz sometimes. Those guys are insane.
But yea dude I could just listen to Danny Carey play drums by himself for a long time. He’s a monster.
TronYessir, from the first album "opiate".
Prolly the one I listen to the least but it’s still a good one. Thought it was cool that they posted older songs when they got their YouTube page
Woop woop !!!
Looove Tool
Gonna check album out now
Can it beat wings p1/p2?!?!
Hopefully the album is good! Bout damn time for a new album
Top Song for me is Right in Two.
Such a deep song
Love A Perfect Circle - but sorry bro, the intro to that song is WAY too long and repetitive.
Agreed that it sounds like aenima a little. Hands down my favorite album from them. I’m super pumped about this. Maynard is kind of a noodle, but god damn does he make good music. Can’t wait for the 30th. It’s only been like what? 12-13 years? Lol
Fuck I better tell my brother but he might not be to excited cause he’s in jail lol
Thanks for the reminder and the link. I hadn't got a chance to hear any of it yet. It's great they have only put out albums which remained true to their sound and talent.
TronThe song "Invincible" in the link sounds like something from the aenima era.. my favorite tool album. Hopefully the whole new album sounds similar.
Yeah, aenema was definitely my favorite, opiate is a close second. They are great live. Have you had the change to see them?
