I don't normally offer stock advise, however, you asked. I like to make money, not lose it. My suggestions; Apple Computer - ticker symbol AAPL. Look up the returns for the past five years. Next: Alibaba - BABA - some normal profit taking last week. A share of Amazon is $333.00 - BABA is $112.00. Alibaba is smoking Amazon in revenues. Next: Locheed Martin - Symbol is LMT. Our Air Force is 1,000 fighters short and Locheed will build most of them and the ordnance needed to smoke the Hajie's who scheme day and night on how to kill us all.

Mutual funds are good also. Go to Daveramsey.com and click on the investment calculator. If every 20 some year old put in $300+ a month at a decent return we would have a generation where they would all bank about $15ml or more by the time they 50.

I wish my dad showed me this stuff 40 years ago. My kids got it though.

Like everything else, do your own research - good luck.

I think you would be extremely hard pressed to reach $15ml in 30 years off $300/month, thats assuming a return of over 25% every year...for 30 years. That my friend, is not going to happen.

If a 20 something could put away $5500 annually (ROTH max), for 35 years, I think you would be looking at more like $700k, that's assuming a very fair return of 6% annually.

wow what a wealth of knowledge from my fellow eroiders....im happy to see others who actually open there eyes and are not blinded by the media and what not....america is such a controlled society "they tell us when to shop what to be affraid of and alot of the puppets just follow" people are worried about the latest iPhone and tablet that is out but when shit hits the fan they wont be able to navigate and live life because they will have no wifi to tell them how to survive or navigate around there own city....yes i was born here but i can admit we are spoiled as hell and i feel bad for the future generations "when the big dogs whos going to feed the pups"

Unless you have the actual physical silver in your hand ( I buy ingots from a mint), at some point EVERYONE will be a loser when this economy collapses. There is no way they can sustain what they are doing and there is no fix for what's coming. They could tax 100% of the inome of every working person in this country and it still wouldnt erase the debt in decades.
I predict the shit will hit the fan..... we go to war( a REAL war...not this phony terror shit)....and we start over.
I don't even look to the market anymore for long term...even guaranteed annuities are NOT set in stone anymore. Right now the Dow is skyrocketing.....but the Dow has NOTHING to do with the health of the economy in general.... if it did, the unemployment picture would be much better,
Those of you who live in small towns know this. Houston, for example, looks great.... But go to Detroit.
At some point, every major American city will look like Detroit.
People always pull back when I mention this and look at me like I'm talking about alien abductions or something----but those same people cant ever seem to tell me how things will be any different.
Stay comfy with your devices and color T.V ---- in denial. But Katrina was a preview. Once they cant cut welfare checks after the money dries up (YOUR money that they are giving to people who dont work), they are going to go apeshit in urban areas and there won't be anyone to keep the zombies from coming to your door.

Want investment advice????
Food, water, ...and the bullets to protect it.

themanmas's picture

alot of good points and yes i do have my share a collection of kilos of silver in person

(its said that we should stock enough food and water for a year)

rolltide3's picture

are debt is so great that the government could take every dime every American makes this year and it wouldn't be enough to even pay the interest on are debt. There change a brewing its just a matter of time before the American dollars not the world note and when this happens we will see a chaotic economy collapse. This is prolly the statement I agree most upon that u ever wrote. Us americans are very naive to what's coming. Luckily I live in a town of under a 1000 people that we all have guns and all hunters. People come here and there will be me and a little army ready to fight

Hustle28's picture

Hell yea bro the strong will survive the clock is ticking and any minute the Chinese can cut our life line since the B.R.I.C.S is tryin to de thrown us our time is done start storing seeds and guna and ah shit load of ammo or if ur Rambo style bow and arrows wit various tips

rolltide3's picture

There a reason the US government stop doin audits at fort Knox bc there is no gold left. They used to do audits every year why bc that is the average americans money that is supposed to be the value of the American dollar. They don't want the world governments to know there is no gold. It's just a matter of time before we collapse u can't keep spending money that's not there but make up for it by printing more money.

Greg's picture

money that is supposed to be the value of the American dollar.

That hasn't been the case since Nixon put us on the Fiat System.

rolltide3's picture

That's what values are American dollar is the supposed gold we have other wise it's just paper. Yeah they don't print silver certificate or things like that but all are economy is based on are supposed gold deposits.
http://www.kwaves.com/fiat.htm

They took this system bc they can't pay back there debts if the world looked into fort Knox and seen it was empty. The American dollar is gone.it's worth the same as toilet paper hence why they don't do audits anymore. It's americans money and every year they did audit for long time our debit started getting huge and boom no more audits just seems fishy

Greg's picture

Did you read the first paragraph of your link?

In a fiat money system, money is not backed by a physical commodity (i.e.: gold). Instead, the only thing that gives the money value is its relative security and the faith placed in it by the people that use it.

Simply stated, it's value is based on our ability to pay back or credit worthiness (thanks Obama for mucking that up too)

Nixon just followed what every other government was doing by going to the fiat. It had nothing to do with Fort Knox. As our economy grows, there isn't enough physical gold, silver, or other precious metals that can back our currency.

I do believe we should have some sort of modified fiat system where we are only able to print and have in circulation money equal to a percentage of our GDP

The gold in Fort Knox became irrelevant. Lending countries don't care about the vault only people who don't understand the fiat system and conspiracy theorists worry about it.

Bowyer2's picture

A big part of the decision making that goes into printing/putting more money in circulation through the FED via lowering the federal funds rate or discount rate has to do with predicted and targeted econ growth and inflation along with gov spending and a million other things. See "quantitative easing" for anyone out there that is curious. Theres also a lot of articles about Janet Yellen and the decisions that she has made lately to influence this rate.

Not that you did, but I would never give any specific investment advice to a large group of people. Everyone has completely different risk profiles. Myself, being a younger guy, I have no immediate use for my developing nest egg as a lot of you on here might. I would be much more willing to invest in a "riskier" vehicle as I have a lot of time for things to develop than many of you I'm sure. But yes, start early.

rolltide3's picture

I beg to differ but it's all good. That's why this site awesome. If fort Knox is empty like most think our economy collapses. That's my opinion u would see the American dollar drop like a lead weight fiat system or not. There supposed to hold billions and billions of gold there. Imo are economy is paper thin right now and could collapse

Pale's picture

I believe I read somewhere that all of the gold mined from the earth to date only equals a 50x50' cube or 16.6x16.6 meters. So like Greg said, it would have been impossible for not only us but all of the worlds economies to continue with the gold standard.

Correction: The cube is 19 meters square.

rolltide3's picture

http://m.livescience.com/32328-how-much-gold-is-in-fort-knox.html

There supposed to be 130 billion dollars of gold in fort knox if it's empty your crazy to think that would not affect are economy
http://www.usmint.gov/about_the_mint/fun_facts/?action=fun_facts13
147.3 million ounces is supposed to be the current amount of gold

Pale's picture

Our economy generates north of 16 trillion per year bro. 130 billion doesn't secure much. Our military alone spends more than 700 billion.

rolltide3's picture

Are debt is 17 trillion right now so 130 billion dollars would hurt the economy lol but it's all good brother u can have your opinion I have mine that's what makes the usa great Smile

Greg's picture

The US Government spends $318 billion per month.
And you're talking about disappearing gold that could have taken place over several decades.

But more than that, the gold is an asset not tied to our economy.

rolltide3's picture

U have your opinion I have mine I'm allowed to have my opinion. If that's how u feel awesome bro I feel different so I'm moving on. are economy is in shambles that's my opinion and could easily fall apart but if u think our economy is great awesome. by the way I hope your right bout our economy been good lol. I know way want a bad collapse. I just feel that are country is in for a rude awakening. U can't keep spending money we don't have. Btw there's millions and millions of Americans that feel the way I do so I'm not just a left wing nut. This will be my last post we can agree to disagree that's what makes the usa great have a good one brother Smile

Greg's picture

I never said our economy was good, nor do I like the way we are abusing the Fiat. I believe we will look like Greece if we don't do something soon. Maybe already too late. I'm just saying Fort Knox is meaningless as far as the economy is concerned.

rolltide3's picture

Okay I can agree with that the gold prolly wouldn't do nothing at this point ill agree Smile

Pale's picture

My whole point as well as Greg's is that the gold standard just isn't possible in the worlds economy right now. But yea, I a not losing any sleep about it. Smile

rolltide3's picture

Oh your not on tren huh? Then u would be losing sleep bout it lol Smile

Pale's picture

I am but I am just lucky I guess. Smile

Hustle28's picture

Yea bro I'm ready for this collapse I'm guna go into to the mountains like bigfoot cuz the cities it's guna be hell I'm loaded up probably guna take goth with me have him catching squirrels wit his sling shot lol but he has to bring all his gear and keep producing gear lol

7gothic's picture

Rent me a room brother---have sling shot will travel...LOL

rolltide3's picture

Living in a small town sucks there not even a bank here lol but if shit went down I know the whole town would come together. All anyone does here is hunt or fish and drink beer. If shit goes down I don't know if I don't get my tents and hit the woods behind my house lol

Pale's picture

Same here. This town is 20 minutes away from two of the FBI's most dangerous cities. Like with you this community is a gun loving one and would stick together well (in the early days). That being said it is only common sense to have a stockpile of weapons, ammunition, food and water. Hopefully we never need them.

rolltide3's picture

Oh yeah I agree hope we never see such days but today's threats against us imo are greater than they ever have been. Luckily I'm 90 miles from any city and the next close one is 230 miles

Oil; the prices are rapidly falling right now and OPEC is not posed to do shit about it. I will be buying a couple squares once my bonds clear this week and I stand to triple my money in a few months because of it.

themanmas's picture

oil stocks? what ones in particular if you dont mind

Pale's picture

I would be very leary of oil in the short to medium term. We haven't reached the bottom. You see OPEC realizes that our North American oil is a credible threat now, but shale oil is expensive to produce. They know the lower it goes the more squeeze it puts on us. Just like Keystone XL , you will slowly hear less and less about it now. It would be like shooting themselves in the foot right now to proceed with it.

Wait until Oil has definitely turned the corner back up again. Which could easily be a couple years down the road.

Bowyer2's picture

I would not classify shale oil (bakken formation) as expensive to produce. "Fracking" is relatively cheap and extremely fast compared to other methods. With the US predicted to become the worlds largest oil producer in the next 10 years or less, it's really hard to tell. If anything, I would go short oil futures as they will only become less valuable. The US shows no means of easing on production and oil produced in the US is a hell of a lot cheaper, not to mention transportation costs.

IrishMack's picture

I agree; but the time to get in is when it is dropping because once the change occurs in price you won;t be able to buy in without at least 25k FOR 1 Square and I have 2 squares for less then that I will triple my money when the scare comes.

iFit's picture

Index funds, dividend stocks and of course Apple (aapl) which I bought for $1.15

themanmas's picture

wow wish i got appl for 1.15 a piece that and goog

Pale's picture

Welcome back Ifit. I see you still smarting about Apple, lol. I had them at 102 recently, I dumped at 112. Alibaba has been a good investment, I am holding that one for awhile. I made a nice chunk on New link genetics during the ebola crisis as well.

Greg's picture

index funds would be a good bet right now and to balance that, REIT funds.

Bowyer2's picture

I have the majority of my funds in mutual funds and index funds as well. No REIT's for me. But, I have started a liking for ETF's. I recommend anyone who has an active interest in investments to take a look. Much more flexibility than traditional funds as you can go long and short no to mention many other pro's.

Hustle28's picture

This seems very interesting Greg I'm guna look into this ..... Cuz I love to flip money bro as u can tell my username is hustle;)

themanmas's picture
