Need Advice for a Worried Fiancé

ad

Hello, I'm new here (obviously) but I'm looking for some advice and perspective on my fiancés steroid use. (TL;DR at the end... Fair warning/sorry for the essay)

For some background, we have been together 3 years, engaged for 1, and our wedding is in 2ish weeks. We have always been great together, rarely fight, fulfilled, etc. About a year and a half ago, he decided to train for a physique competition, and I was fully supportive (we work out together a lot, nothing new for us other than improving diet lol) but I told him "as long as you don't take steroids that's fine." Well a few months later I found some pills of his with a fakey label and I confronted him and he said "yeah it's stupid, I don't know why I took them, it's not healthy etc etc"

Fast forward to a week ago: We got in a huge fight, he claims he's just starting to stand up for himself and he's sick of my bullshit, I admitted where I was wrong and realized my mistakes and am working to understand how to fix everything. His attitude is like nothing I have ever seen in him before. He used to be very patient, understanding, supportive, caring, thoughtful, and now he's much more self centered and doesn't even think of my feelings at all, or care if I express them. I can't even have a productive discussion with him because he immediately gets extremely defensive and hostile, and there's not much I can say that will get a decent reaction. When he's not mad, he's just stupid horny and like off the chain energetic with this major bro attitude.

I know he's been taking steroids again, I'm not sure for how long though. He is under Doctor supervision, getting blood tests, etc. so I know he's trying to be healthy and smart about it. He also has all the supplements that help support the natural function and estrogen blockers. I asked him about if he was using them again, and at first he ignored the question. I found his needles and asked him again. He said that was for all the stuff the doctor prescribed him, showed me the prescriptions, told me it was just to help him get to normal hormone levels. I believed him but then found a whole bag he has of legit steroids. I asked him what was in the bag, he said it was for his friend. I believed him. Today, I checked the bag again and found that it was all still there, just emptier... So I assume it's not actually for his friend. He has tren (which I found searches for on his computer), clen, and who knows what else. But seems to be a lot based on the research I have done.

Now, I told him I know he does steroids and I want to understand it and I'm not necessarily opposed to it, I'm just worried and want to know his side of the research he has done. He still denies it. I legit found his gear and he still denies it. I told him I want to get on the same page and he still denies it.

I'm worried because in the past year and a half, he got a massive infection (from injecting) and had to have surgery with a week in the hospital, and he has been to the hospital twice for heart problems which I know steroids have some affect on. I'm also feeling betrayed because of the lie but even more so because we have a lot of expenses, both of us work commission based jobs and I'm always stressed about money - and here he is spending literally hundreds or thousands of dollars on steroids. Like he drained a savings account and pretends to not know what all those withdrawals were for.

TL;DR my fiancé is taking steroids, seems to have health problems associated with and/or exacerbated by them and his whole attitude and personality have changed. He lies about it and takes money from us (money that we really can't afford to spend).

I don't want to give up on us because I really miss what we used to be and I know this is changing him. I want to know if anyone else has experienced this, or has advice on how I can have an open conversation with him. Again, I'm not some anti-steroid crazy person, I'm just concerned for our future and I can't handle the lies. Has anyone quit taking steroids to save a relationship? If you have quit taking them, what made you decide to do it? I'm not going to tell him what to do, I want him to do what's best for US, not just for him.

Agreed, really strange how OP added that the fiance is on doctor approved and monitored steroid use with Tren too. There is not a doctor out there that would approve or monitor tren use because if the patient dies or has major complications imagine the ramifications and possible prison time.

Don't get married unless you can have an open mind and let him discuss it civil with you.

If you wanted fake boobs and he didn't want you to would there be an issue?

Although it sounds like he really has no idea what he is doing with the infections and draining bank accounts like a crack head.

That's the problem, I do have an open mind and I want to know his opinion but he won't share with me or even admit anything to me. I feel like he knows it's messing him up and he doesn't want to confront that.

Girl?
Walk..... away. Just walk away.
This from a guy who has only ever been married once and still; 32 years and going

You are making the classic g-friend mistake by believing that you can change him. You cant. Sure he didn't start this way but he is now. It was in his personality to gravitate to where he is right now. You just had not seen it yet. Now you have. And it sounds like you are not even on his top 10 list of priorities, unless he needs a wet hole to plug into (and you're probably not the only one he is hitting now)

There are 10 million more worthy dudes walking the planet. Right now.

Just
Walk
Away

I would of bailed when the money went missing. But I'm not a person who puts up well with disrespectful and sneaky shit.

How do you know he Is Dr monitored if he won't admit he is on gear? And if is not coming clean with his use after you finding evidence than this boy is not mature enough to face issues.
