Cormier Vs. Jones 2

Thoughts? I'm kind of excited for this particular fight for a couple of reasons. 1. I want to see if Jones still has it.
2. I love a fight between two wrestlers with decent stand up games.
My money is on Jones. Why? Because I like him. I like his fighting style and I like his personality no homo and I'd really like to see him pick up where he left off and continue to dominate that weight class. On the other hand, I kind of thin Cormier can win this. However, I won't cheer for him because something bugs me about his personality. Maybe it's his voice. I dunno.
However, the more I think about it, the more I think Cormier is going to win.....shit. Who knows.

Hitman187Tough call for me. Jones was undisputedly the best pound for pound fighter in the world, but has had a long lay off and that will effect anyone.Plus he didn't look like himself in his last fight with all that downtime.
Jones is the better fighter, but he's his own worst enemy... he has more than "a decent stand up game"...

Personally, I think Cormier is cursed. His whole life has been cursed. Not just his personal but his athletic life. His life has been filled with nothing but bad luck.
Hands down Cormier is a better wrestler than Jon Jones. Jones is an excellent wrestler but not on Cormier level. But Cormier Curse followed him as a wrestler...through his whole career. Cormier's wrestling career was plagued with bad luck. When he was wrestling for OSU the poor bastard was a stud. An absolute animal, but unfortunately shared the same weight as Cael Sanderson, who is the greatest collegiate wrestler of all time. Who happened to hand out 4 or 5 losses to Cormier. Yes, Cael was better than Dan Gable come at me bros! Fast forward to his Freestyle Career. He worked his ass off and became a huge force..even won the Golden Grand-Prix Ivan Yarygin. Probably the toughest wrestling tournament in the world. There he is..positioned for 2008 Olympic greatness, has the gold medal in is sight, captain of the Olympic wrestling team and.....overdehyrates to kidney failure and can't wrestle.... shit.
Now we are here. Cormier, the champ sharing the weight with possibly the greatest mama fighter of all time.... Will he be able to win or will the Cormier Curse Haunt him.....
Great back story on Cormier. I wasn't aware of most of that. I like both fighters, the drama between them is entertaining. I suppose I'm rooting for Jones simply because I like to witness greatness; watching athletes perform at their peak is an amazing thing. The most upsetting is wasted talent... the greek tragedy makes for good storytelling...but leaves a lot of "what ifs"... Jones is standing at the edge.
Yeah Cormier has been dealt a pretty shitty hand. His dad was murdered whe he was nine. Lost his little girl in a car accident. Had some pretty crazy shit hit him.
For me, I am so over this fight. My bet would be on it falling apart before it ever happens yet again.

Lol. I'll be the first to admit that jones is a man of questionable character. But then again we are talking about a sport that glorifies beating the living shit out of, and choking unconcious another human being. Unfornately the nature of the sport doesn't always attract men of unquestionable character. It's fun to think that they are all nice guys saving the world building up skills to kill Nazis but unfortunately it's just not the case.

All that time off he had will effect anybody, even the best. Even if he's training hard everyday its not the same as getting real reps in the ring during a live fight. Look at his last fight he was clearly off his game.

Jones all the way. He's never been beat. His only L came from a dq. Gotta go with the undefeated guy. Cormier hasn't fought anyone that was a real threat as of late, Silvia is eligible for social security and rumble's heart wasn't in it he was retiring win or lose. Told the people in his family don't come to the fight if they cared about him. Their first fight rumble took short notice. Cormier is scared shitless right now trying to not show it and put on a front. He's been beat by jones already and jones is super confident and has every reason to be. Even Cormier bragged on how strong jones was. There's no way cormier can strike with jones and he's already let it be known jones is stronger. Hopefully jones puts him away. Either way I agree it's gonna be a great fight emotions are high.

Yeah, I think the Mayweather McGregor fight has all the attention but damn, this has the possibilities of a pretty damn good fight. Personally, I think the Mayweather/Mac fight will be a huge disappointment. For a lot of people.

Yea hes got great defensive skills and counter punching which make him a smart fighter and almost impossible to touch, but no one wants to pay the big bucks to watch a guy dance around the ring all night. Everyone wants to see two guys go blow for blow and really bring the fight to each other. Mayweathers dancing routine is old and will disapoint all again. He cant even knock anyone out, his last knock out was a long time ago and was kind of a sucker punch.
So yea its probably going to be a long, drawn out, boring fight that will go the distance and the decision will come down from the judges where "Surprisingly" mayweather will win
