New to Board, Powerlifting, and TRT

ad

I'm brand new here and looking to learn.

My sports background is that I was a collegiate discus thrower, pretty solid but not quite to world class level.

After college I went off to graduate school to get a professional degree and stopped training. Fast forward to last August. I read 5/3/1 and decided to start training again. After a 13 year layoff (I'm now 37) I decided to start training again. Part of my motivation was a blood test which showed a total testosterone of 249. I was shocked at the result and decided to raise it through natural means including lifting. So I started 5/3/1 and started getting stronger quickly. I was getting stronger but still felt like crap so I found a TRT doc 100 miles away (closest I could find). My level had only risen to 317. He started me on test cypionate. We've worked out a good regimen now but not without lots of hassle (long trips to doc, compounding pharmacy not filling test like doc prescribed and missing multiple doses, paying $80 for 800 mg of testosterone, him pressuring me to do pellets, etc).

Currently I'm on 60 mg test cypionate every other day, 0.5 mg Arimidex EOD, and HCG 250 units EOD. Last labs were total T 1015, free T 36, and estradiol 24.

My lifting has been going great and despite less than a year of training under my belt I've squatted 615, deadlifted 600, and bench pressed 350. I'm competing in my first meet in October and hope to go for 650, 370, and 625. I hope to get an elite total in the 308+ class within the next year or so.

My long term goals are 800 in both squat and deadlift and a 500 bench.

At this point I would just like to take my TRT into my own hands and stop wasting money on travel and really overpriced meds.

I also know that in order to reach my long term goals there will probably be higher dose AAS in my future. I'm not ready for that just yet as I'm still making good progress and I don't want to waste a tool I don't need yet. I still need to maximize my training, nutrition, recovery, etc. I also want to be very informed when I make the plunge. I've got William Lewellyn's book Anabolics on my phone and have used it more for reference but plan to read it cover to cover soon.

Anyway, good to be aboard.

fellow PLer here, welcome!

do you lift raw or equipped? Ive always lifted raw (never competed, had the 242 record within pissing distance, believe it was 1800 at the time which has been smashed now, but had to stop due to school, had to take priority. Ive been getting back into it the last few months, didn't realize how much I missed it....) but Ive always wanted to try equipped, I like the technical aspect of it.
anyways, best of luck at the meet and your goals

Well the squat is my favorite lift and I have a doctoral degree. I thought of using Dr Squat but there is only one Dr Squat.
