Hello to all, my introduction....
Hello folks, I am obviously new here and wanted to take the time to introduce myself and tell a bit of my story in hopes that some of the more experienced people here can help to get me pointed in the right direction.
As a teenager I grew up on a farm, was very active and stayed in good shape. My hobbies at the time included various sports, hunting, hiking, camping, and rock climbing. Upon graduating from high school I enlisted in the Army where I guess you could say I did fairly well and soon I found myself in what would be considered one of our "elite" units.
All was well for a few years until I was injured and ultimately discharged. As it turns out, a shooter isn't of much use once his mobility is compromised. Who knew? Anyway, I came home at the ripe old age of 25 with no plan for my life. As a result complacency and depression set in and I spent the next 12 years merely existing while not really caring for myself or anything else.
My New Years resolution for 2013 was a pretty broad one, only resolving to finish the year healthier than when I started it. Being 165 pounds heavier than my "fighting weight" and not having done much of anything physical in over 12 years, I didn't hold out hope for much.
In April after having spent the first quarter of the year not addressing anything, I thought it was about time to do something towards my resolution and decided to find a doctor to give me a full physical thinking that would be a pretty good and physically easy start for my resolution. Once a doctor with a good reputation was found, an appointment was made and kept. My blood work came back as having both low testosterone and thyroid hormones, and therapy was started. I also spoke to her that day about my depression (I didn't use the word depression as I didn't think I was then, it was expressed more like how I feel and a lack of desire to do much of anything.) She diagnosed it as depression but elected to not do anything until the effects of the testosterone and thyroid replacement treatments were realized first.
In July I was compelled to start eating better and actually got a bench and a few free weights (long forgotten Christmas gifts) out of the attic and put them to use with some mild exercise. In August at a follow up appointment, my doctor put me on a mild anti depressant. In September I went and signed up for a martial arts class twice a week, and during all this time I continued my weight workouts and incorporated some walking on a treadmill too. Sometimes I have to take a break from the weights for a few weeks due to tendonitis in my right arm and the treadmill due to a right knee that will just never be right again. (part of my injury while in the military)
That brings us up to now. I am down about 65 pounds, my muscles have really firmed up again, and I feel much better both physically and mentally. I currently inject 1.5 ml of a 200mg per ml testosterone cypionate bi weekly and have a prescription for a 10ml bottle per month, which gives me a little extra to play with every month. I guess what I would like to know is if I would be safe injecting this surplus, should I inject on a different schedule than I am currently doing, and if there is anything I could or should add to see better or faster results? I am on a limited income and have terrible insurance so being able to outright purchase a lot of things is out of the question. I am just trying to maximize my results with the resources I currently have. I'm not really looking to get huge ut would like to add a little size and strength while being able to lose fat at the same time.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brandon
