Hello I am New

44yo

Been lifting since age 17. Have always trained for sport but extensively. Had combined 1000 at 18 and just kept on going, always lifted. Done programs from oly lifting to trendy stuff like Max-OT, HST, all the hot late 90s programs lol. After that I had a top coach who was designing my workouts for sport, but included lots of compound stuff. It was a lot of pro athletes in the gym, some NY Rangers, and other baseball camp. There were some crazy athletic feats and surely gear around but I never did more than a box of Mass Tabs and some otc pct. That stuff seemed to work but was surely very toxic.

Have been through l4/l5 injury, extensive pt and complete rebuilding of physique. Its brutal and a joy to learn, really enjoy all aspects of training and studying the body. Weight has been from 165-220, never too fat at high end but didn't always use caliper. I was competitive bike racer for 15 years until last year, taught me a lot about diet and my personal response to a whole host of things. Also about physical adaptation (for aerodynamics in my case), stretching, self massage, flexibility, core, posture, proprioception.

So I am just here learning. I have had one blood test out of curiosity and the regular test levels were normal, around 500 I think (will dig up paper for test), and free test was high for my age. I was able to see a endocrinologist just to discuss libido and symptoms and review my numbers. She said I was normal and that was that. So anyway I would like to know if there is a test online that you can order. Is there a bundle that does all the important tests? I would guess you need to do this regularly if you have intense workloads like bike racing (though I am doing this way less now). I have also read that testing blood like a day after squats will show high levels, really not sure and want to learn more about ideal ways and timing for blood testing.

Anyway mostly just want to know of any worthy online tests. Thanks for the great resource!

I found my old test prints of my levels test from Quest labs. I wanted to post it here obv. with all personal and doc info photoshopped out. Is it not possible to post pics? If that's not ok I can type the data,

It looks like they only tested Free and total even though the box heading says "TESTOSTERONE, FREE AND TOTAL, LC/MS/MS Female(36170)"

FREE TESTOSTERONE: 124.1 (35.0-155.0 pg/ml)
TESTOSTERONE, TOTAL: 588 (250-1100 ng/dl)

(there was no other data in that box)
Here is the Quest page about that test and the ranges - http://www.questdiagnostics.com/testcenter/testguide.action?dc=TS_Testos...

This was my last test when I was 41 in 2013. I was definitely racing and training very hard at that point and possibly refused to fast because I am a psychopath about eating and training. At this point I would follow protocol. The clinic I scheduled is super expensive. I also do not want to do this again with PCP. Can you guys help me interpret this and advise on an online test that will potentially save me a huge waste of time and money? Is there a standard test that I should be looking at getting? Or will clinics still give me trt even if I am over 250 on a test like this? Help a brother out! Tx in advance if you read this.

Finally - If this is the wrong place for this post/question, my apologies. Feel free to move, delete, etc. and I can repost in proper area.

Tx man. Getting blood done at a clinic from a good doc after all. I manned up and asked a coach. I guess it's perfectly common. I tell you though, it makes me feel old. I guess they do pellets there and if you are an athlete you can get shots. I can't see getting a pellet in the glute and bike racing going too well lol. Also just started using the search here, lots of good info. Tx for the resource.
