hello, i am a newbie and i could use some help
Hello.
I am a 31 year old guy, 5'9" 112kg/246lbs.
Per my last measurement i am about 33% BF .
now before you immediately reply very high BF, get back to basics, please read on.
I finally go tired of how i looked about 4-5 months back.
When i started i was approximately 120kg/264lbs about 45% BF.
So, once i came to the realization, i decided to something about it.
I started cardio, and then started lifting weights.
have been lifting for about 4 months i guess . Soon as i joined the gym, i took on a PT to make sure that i had proper form when lifting (compounds).
I started with only compounds (Squats,Bench,Overhead,Rows&Deadlifts)
Now i do believe i have made considerable improvements. Put some decent lean mass, and dropped quite a bit of fat.
My lifts have gone up considerably over the past few months, however over the past 6-8 weeks weight loss has all but stopped.
I did notice some body recomp. However in past 1-2 weeks even that has stopped.
In hind sight this make sense(read on...)
All this time,i have been soaking up information like a sponge, on fixing my diet, add exercises and what not.
I have already got my diet fixed for the most part. I have a little bit of difficulty hitting my macros. But that is within 10%.
Couple of days back, i visited a doctor and after a blood test,he informed me that i had very low TT .
He suggested we should do a few doses of TRT . 250mg test enanthe per week for 4 weeks.
Then he would test my blood again and then decide further course of actions.
if normal, stop for 3 months and retest.
Else we go for further testing to try and determine the root cause.
To be honest, he scared me a lil and as such i had my first shot yesterday.
Ever since he informed me, i have been trying to gather as much info as i can.
I learned about the possible side effects.
What is aromatization. How it can be countered (very basic in this yet)
What could be the possible benefits and so on.
Been learning a bit about cycles.
One thing that has struck me is it, if i am going to do this, why don't i do it right and try to make the best of this situation.
I would like some suggestions from the experienced folks.
Since i have already taken my first shot, what should i do now ?
Should i now just use this as trt and go with it ?
go about my routine as if nothing has changed. Reading up, has made me realize that people only turn to gear when they close to 10% BF and clearly i am far from it. They use it to polish what is already there, and make it shine.
Also, my doc has not suggested any kind of PCT . I will shutdown on 250mg per week, should there not be any kinda pct ?
My doc has not suggested anything for AI either. From what i have been reading, i might be an excellent candidate for aromatization.
or
Should i try to use this to my advantage ?
turn this into a some kinda cycle and try to put on as much muscle and drop as much fat as possible ?
Having normal T might actually help me drop alot of BF considering the way i was going before i was diagnosed.
i was thinking of dropping in some t3 and clen and increasing the cycle duration to maybe 8 weeks or so. For some reason, the pharmacist never took my script after he gave me the 4 vials.
help me out guys ??
Thank a lot.

Your doc would use clomid if he was trying to "reboot" you. 250 test ethanate per week should get you around 800 in 4 weeks. Your doc will be testing for RBC, test levels, and cholesterol. If he is satisfied with your bloods, he will continue on, or adjust your dose up or down. I can't see him having you just stop and expect that you'd continue on with normal test levels.
For your part, continue on as you were. Do not add t3 or clen or any other faddish compound. It will do you no good. The added test after the 4 weeks should be enough to get you past the "plateau" you feel you are currently in. Read The Testosterone Advantage Plan by Men'sHealth to put all the pieces you've learned about diet, exercise, and Testosterone together. Figure out what your New BMR is and adjust your diet/exercise accordingly to help you move forward with your goal.
Not losing weight does not mean lack of progress. Get some calipers and start recording your BF. Take progress photos every week or so. My bet you did as I did... you went from cardio and diet losing fat and muscle -then started lifting gaining back muscle. The scale will not show you your recomp.
TeammarkoutGood luck with what you decide to do
unreal89So hes gonna crash your test even more find a new doctor this is retarded..
No on starting a cycle. 4 months is not long enough to be working out to develope any kind of base or even a routine. 250mg a week for trt seems high, and Im not convinced of the idea of stopping after 4 weeks, rechecking and stopping for 3 months if all is normal? That just doesnt make sense.
Do not use this low T diagnosis as a reason to go ahead and do a cycle, thats ridiculous. 4 months of training and plateaued? Give me a break. Have some patience and resolve to build and earn the physique. Shit dont happen overnight
Well according to my doc, he wants to run it for 4 weeks to see see if it helps to return back to normal.
once i am off it, he wants to check if after 3 months my body is able to produce test within normal range.
If that doesn't happen, he wants to investigate further with other tests and decide what to do.
i know shit don't happen overnight, and i am not expecting to either.
I have been putting in the effort and did not even consider any steroids or such until the doc brought it up.
When i started my weight loss, i had set my goal as reaching about 15% BF by the end of the year.
So i set very much realistic goals, because i know i didn't put on weight overnight, neither am i gonna loose it overnight. I am putting in the effort and i will continue to do, regardless of if i cycle or not.
I am just looking for insight from experienced people about what would be my best course of action.
i know from my research that even with just 250mg test per week, i will still have much better gains that i was normally having.
so basically you are of the opinion that i should just follow the docs orders and not worry about taking anything else ? or are you suggesting i stop the temporary trt as well?
I think you find another doc. Seems he would start off with clomid or even hcg if he wanted to try and reboot you.....injecting test will only shut it down further, then test will look good due to the Test so off you go....then back down to nothing.
Im not a doc, so I wont dispute him any further. I think you get on a true trt regimen if you do indeed need it. Continue to train and forget about cycling for now.
If you have very low T and your doc is starting you on shots of Test E, I would consider this the start of TRT. I am confused why he would start you on this and then stop you if your bloods come back as normal after 4 weeks. Armotisation is conversion of Test to estrogen, my doc has me on 200 mg of Test C per week and as of yet, has not seen the need to start me on other medicines to combat armotisation. I would hope if your doc stops your prescription he would help you with the PCT as needed. I wouldn't run a cycle until well after you get your hormone levels straightened out and know what's going on with your doctor. Good luck, keep up the cardio and diet.
well according to my doc,
we do this for 4 weeks and do a TT test.
if its normal,
then i stay off the test for 3 months and check my TT after 3 months.
If its normal all is good.
If not, he said we will do
fsh
lh
prolactin
and free test
and then decide further course of action based on those results.
WIth regards to the PCT, i will definitely ask him in a couple of days when i see him.
he never explained about aromatization when puting me on the test, i had to learn about it from my own research .
so yeah that is kinda scary.
