Several years ago (mid 40's) I was 6' and 245 lbs also had not done anything fitness related in years.
First was to shed the weight, I started running. I started reading and learning about diet. After about a year I had lost 50+/- pounds and shifted my focus to weights.
After about 3 years when I stopped seeing gains, I started to think about my testosterone levels. I looked to diet and exercise to try and increase it naturally. "The testosterone Advantage Plan" by Men's Health is a good entry level book to read.
Why am I preaching? To let you know that to truly transform yourself in a healthy way, in a way where you won't give up and rebound, it takes time. It is a lifestyle change. A marathon. Make sure you have a good foundation upon which to build. Part of that is discipline, routine, and habit.
I researched aas for about another year before I thought about buying anything. Then, before taking any action, armed with my research, I spoke to others on this site to make sure I was going about it right.
I dont mind the "preaching" greg...i appreciate it. I will give that book a read. Feel free to recomend any other books or films also...thanks greg for your reply and time
Mr. Linder, I think in your situation it would be best to find a good endocrinologist, have a professional help you get your axis in order and really line out a good diet and excercise routine. You can find the diet and excercise here but given your situation it's probably best that you let a doc evaluate and prescribe the medicine.
Jumping in to the juice without pinning down the important stuff will likely just make you fatter and more unhealthy. Unfortunately, it's not a magic pill that fixes everything. You have to do the hard stuff first.
With your levels, it's not going to be hard to get a script for testosterone. Just request injections instead of the gels.
Your right. I totaly agree. Im waiting on a call from a Urologist to set up an app( thats where my doc refered me.) what should i tell them/say to get good treatment? anyway anyone could throw me a link or pm me in the direction of where i should start diet and exercise wise? Im a total newby but not totaly dumb just a tad lazy lol...as far as fat loss and and energy to get started will this 200iu of hygetropin i have help me at all? or should i just get my pothead ass off the couch and into the gym?lol im not trying to get any bigger cuz i think im big enough already....i just want to cut down and get lean and mean like i used to be. This is a new year and i am ready to make some major changes and would be honored to have you guys help me. Ive been to alot of forums and this is the ONLY one that truly tries to give healthy help to the uneducated...also i just finished Llewellyns anabolics lastnight before i registered here...thanks in advance....heres to your guyses health and mine
DeathstrokeIf you want to get healthy again then eat healthy. Do fasted cardio in the morning and hit the gym 4x a week. Never start a cycle with high body fat try to meet your natural fitness peak first before resorting to supplements. You can't replace hard work.
I do want to get healthy again. Im sure i could eat clean with the right direction and meal planning. Feel free to throw me some info if you got it...thanks dhulk

I got up to 240 in rehab and I'm 2 inches shorter. Man that sucked. I did hiit cardio and went into a calorie deficit. I lost 70 pounds with no drugs at all. Just diet and cardio. Supplements but no drugs
Yea it does suck my coworkers call me 5x5 hahaha what supps and diet did you use? And how long to lose that weight....pretty impressive gq....
Cla, fish oil, pre workout, protein powder. I didn't really track what I ate. I just tried to cut out all carbs. It sucked I don't recommend that. Again I didn't track my weight loss, planet fitness doesn't have scales lol
Welcome.
If that's your hometown in the thread title, it will be best to remove it.
