Hello Everyone

ad

I am a 66 year old retired physician and as such, not pumping the kind of iron I did when I was a bit younger. However, I am still in the game. My professional interests are anti-aging and integrative, holistic medicine.

I have been familiar with enhancement agents and have used many of them. I think people have the right to use them as long as they know what they are doing and the potential risks. Anti-aging medicine at the moment is largely one big experiment. The same is true for younger people using enhancing agents.

I have been doing research for quite a long time trying to see what information is available online.

My involvement with HGH both professionally and personally has only been with the usual, customary pharmaceutical sources. As everyone knows, in the US these sources cost far more than they should. So, like everyone else I have been interested in finding sources that are reasonable, safe, and effective. That is more of a challenge than people realize.

Most people go the test my own serum way. The problem with that is that at my age, an injection of 25 IU of both sermorelin and ipamorelin will raise my HGH level from 30 to 40 which actually shocked the heck out of me the first time I did it because the thinking has been that guy over 60 do not produce HGH at the level they did when they are younger. Obviously, with these HGH stimulators, this is not the case. As they are less expensive than HGH, how do we know if the HGH is simply not a combination of these peptides? The answer is that the only way to be certain is by testing the vial of HGH itself. You cannot simply substitute the vial contents for serum because the analytical method they are using is for serum. I have not found a reasonably priced lab to perform a forensic type analysis of an HGH vial.

One might wonder why I don't just continue to use sermorelin and ipamorelin. The reasons is that there is Tachyphylaxis....they lose their effectiveness over time. Additionally, they are not clean....not just HGH is produced. Personally, I would like to rotate them with HGH and IGF-1......that is if I could find a reliable, consistent source.

I often read post with reports of welts, redness, pain....that sort of thing. A little bit of pain at the injection site is reported for some injectable drugs....one of them is sermorelin. However, these other problems should not occur. The main thing I can think of is a lack of purity...something in the injection is stimulating the response. It is enough to deal with the known side effects of the pure agents. We don't want to have to deal with additional potential problems.

@Johnny Bravo You are absolutely correct. Poor suspension, contaminants that do not belong...that which the immune system flags as "non-self" becomes anti-genic and over time...voila....inflamation. Don't kid yourself, having an M.D. after your name does not mean a physician knows everything contrary to popular belief. The more time goes by, the less I feel I know. Some of the most intelligent, well-educated people I know never set a foot in college. Interestingly, three of them manufacture audio-visual entrainment devices (light sound machines.) One of the them knows more neurophysiology than any neurologist I have ever met. The information is out there, especially with the advent of the Internet. I always asked my patients to ask questions and bring articles because any physician that thinks he has his hand on all information is kidding himself and not doing a service to his patients.

@bigbob, vhman, and anyone who reads this. I have just as much to learn if not more from everyone here. The use of enhancement agents just like for those used in anti-aging is one big experiment. Everyone can provide their own wealth of knowledge through their individual experience and research. This can also help newbies avoid mistakes that we have made.

The provision on this site of a database in an attempt to rate quality strives to accomplish that. Unfortunately, we do not have access to a forensic lab.

There is one-way testing HGH (not for purity, just qualitatively) could be done with the general method. One would have to have blood drawn and placed in a serum separator tube...clot...spin down....transfer the serum to a sample tube....then put a few units of HGH in the tube....gentle turn it side to size.....and using whatever are the sample requirements.....like this: https://www.labcorp.com/test-menu/26296/growth-hormone# One should not use too much because the result will be so high that the lab wil flag it lol At least one would know it was HGH.

I would think the burning and such would be from a difficulty suspending and fully dissolving whatever it is. Since HGH and the like are anti inflammatory I would think the chemical itself isn’t an issue, maybe just the immune reaponse to the foreign liquid inside you. But again I’m no doctor just a student so far lol. As for the chemical itself my first guess would be to say spectrometry but I heard it’s not all that reliable for this kind of stuff - I’m not sure why. Glad to see a physician on here. I’m sure you can be a big help to a lot of us

Wow, very cool to see a retired physician posting on here. Im sure you have a wealth of knowledge that you would be able to share. Im currently finishing up my undergraduate studies at university and hope to one day become a physician.

Lots of good info here as well. Learning and contributing is what it’s all about here. Best of luck.
