Hello

ad

I just turned 40 and looking starting the process with defy to get on TRT. I’m new to this shit and still learning. I’ve read the wiki at r/steroids a couple of times now and am thinking I might as well “supplement” along the way since I’ll be doing this the rest of my life anyway. Glad I found this place.

Welcome to the forum. Gad you are here.

Check, read, recheck and re-read before being in this TRT you mentioned. Your BF% should be lowered before starting with it, in my opinion.

Thanks man. My labs came back today. I’m meeting with the clinic doc shortly. I scheduled a follow up with my GP for next Thursday. I’m going to request a full thyroid panel from my doc and review everything with him before I decide.

Great decision. It´s always great to be in the safe side!

Welcome to Eroids! Glad you're here.

My BF scale says 22% so it’s probably 20-25 range.

Actually everything you just said is rubbish.Practically every fat man in the word has low test and loses body fat when they start test.Sure you don’t want to go on a gram a week, but probably don’t want to do that anyway. In fact another member just posted a video of some fat guy going from fat to pro in 18 months.Guess what he was on an ass load of gear.

BlackDogRamblin's picture

What do you mean by throwing a bunch of test in me? I get that there are a lot of dumb S.O.B's that come here but I'm not one of them.

Right now the plan is to get my labs and physical done this week and send them to defy. Then they schedule a meeting with a doctor to go over my results and discuss what my options are. I'll take the info from the consultation and check with guys here and at r/testosterone to get second opinions. Not going to do anything stupid.

I actually agree with you when it come to taking mega doses. When I started TRT I was at least 40 percent BF and almost 400 pounds.I could bench 500lb but was fat as fuck.I started with 200 mg of cyp weekly. In a year I had lost over 100lb.Never used AI though I did keep it on hand. Now for me the real magic happened when I add other drugs to the stack.Anavar was a god send for me.I also have only use moderate doses, and never high testosterone.
I would say in theory that we agree but I get tired of hearing shredded guys telling an endomorph get skinny first, when their test is below 200,which makes weight loss practically impossible.

First things first I need to decide if TRT is right for me. I probably will but I’m still having second thoughts. But let’s assume I do go the TRT route. Then the plan would be to follow the protocol my doc suggests and see how things go. Get frequent blood work done to see what happens to my liver functions and e2 levels. Once I know how my body reacts to test and I get things dialed in I can decide if I want to do a blast. That’s probably 12 months down the road though if not longer.

I've been working out for a little over 7 months now after not lifting since high school. Lifts have gone up and I've put on a little muscle and am starting to look better but losing fat has been a bitch.

Here's the progress I've made so far.

Bench 135x4 to 225x2
Squat 185X2 to 255x4
Deadlift 245x2 to 315x1
OHP ??? to 140x2

I want to slim down first and then get on a bulk/cut cycle and get my lifts up to Intermediate level without getting fat. I was eating 200g of protein with 70-90g of fat with the rest being carbs but my body can't handle carbs other than vegetables at this point. Without carbs I kind of crash in the gym but when I eat them my blood sugar goes up. Diet is my biggest hurdle for sure.

Thanks for the feedback man, I like this place already.

I’ll post something in the TRT forum later today to prep for my doctor consultation.

I would like to know more as well.I would also like to hear more from you.You seem to be one who actually studies the game.
Note one rotator tear later I no longer bench in that range or even try.I can still get 315 for 10 reps.I turned 50 this year and am lucky to still be quite healthy.I am still a little fatter than I would like, but still grinding.I live in the south where everything taste good so diet is always an issue for me.Have a great day brother!

Jesus, getting 1 rep at 315 is a major goal for me right now. I can’t wrap my head around repping 3 plates at this point. haha

I have a libertarian dr.Who is a wealth of knowledge. He won’t prescribe just anything but he will manage it and advise. If I’m cycling tren I tell him and we do bloods to make sure I’m not killing myself. It is the only way to go.Im on TRT because I fucked myself up when I was younger. Its now a lifestyle, like it or not.Trust me I actually like you approach.I see young guys at my gym that are in their 20’s and are already lifers and they don’t even know it yet.Sounds like this guy is doing it the correct way.My advise you all is find a “good”dr. And always be honest with him.It May save your life!
That being said I’ve learned things on eroids from older members that are priceless.Giving blood is one example! Most of the members here actually care about the other members and that is a much better environment than some other forums.

Manshit's picture

That was bro science not science so relax. Its never a good idea to do too much testosterone.Stick with a trt dose.Get bloods and let your Dr guide you.Study study study.

BlackDogRamblin's picture

Thanks man. Yeah I'm learning as much as I can because it's a life long commitment. I'm hoping the doctor knows what he's doing. I'm expecting to discuss AI's and SERMS (probably clomid from what I hear) as well as Test. I'll be asking questions about dosing schedule and IM vs SubQ injections, etc, etc, etc. I figure these guys want to sell me drugs though. Plus I believe in trust but verify so I'll check back in with you guys to get another opinion.

I'm having problems with losing fat and I just found out my fasting glucose levels are high as well. I bought a glucose monitor and testing every morning. I'm not sure if low-T is causing problems with insulin resistance or if insulin resistance is causing low-T. I'm on a really low carb diet the last 3 days to see if my energy levels will bounce back. I lift weights 4 days a week, do yoga 2 twice a week and walk 20-30 minutes a day but I'm losing like .5 lbs every week. I've lost 15 lbs in the last 7 months and my BF is down since I started but it's just been an uphill climb. Like 5-10 years ago the weight would have all melted off me months ago. I'm tired all the time, irritable and feel a lot slower mentally. Need to get to the bottom of this because my quality of life sucks right now.

Welcome to the site brother. You will learn some things here that you won’t lean from your Dr.,unless he/she has a lot of experience.Good luck!

Hey thanks man!

My first test came back low for total and right near the bottom for direct. I just signed up with defymedical. I have to get a sports physical, do a bunch of labs and consult with their doctor. It’s a legit process and I’ll follow their advice before starting TRT. My GP only wanted me to get my free and total test levels check. Folks on r/testosterone recommended defy so I’m shelling out almost $500 to do things right.

Here is a list of the required labs. Much more thorough than my doc and the local low-T center.

  1. Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
  2. CBC
  3. Lipid Panel
  4. Testosterone Free and Total
  5. Estradiol Sensitive
  6. *DHEA-Sulfate *
  7. TSH
  8. PSA
  9. LH
  10. *Sex Hormone Binding Globulin *
  11. IGF-1
