Fairly new, looking for some help on Back Surgery Recovery

ad

Hey everyone, been on here for about a month now and looking to find some people with maybe the same story as mine. I had back surgery end of 2009-2010 and have been down for so long with complications ive lost over 60lbs. When i injured my back i was 210 lbs roughly with around 10%bf. Ive been on every pain pill/sleeping pill imaginable over the last 9 years (Injured in 2007) been on methadone the last 3 years now and have noticed my muscles have just wasted away. I figure its due to my T levels being low from it but my Dr. refuse to test for it because he doesnt believe its an issue.Would really appreciate any advice!

Hi Superfrac,

I am a real newbie here, but nonetheless I might be able to suggest a few things I have learned scouting muscle and supplementation forums. It isn't a surefire bet, but conventional medecine isn't either. In any case these aren't excessively costly items so they could be worthwhile to try.

MUSCLE WASTING:

Ostarine MK-2866

This is a drug being developed by Merck laboratories which has been under testing for quite a few years now. It is already today in phase III testing right before commercial release as a prescription drug against muscular wasting. It also helps heal and rebuild bones and will be offered in the treatment of osteoporosis.

  • NOTE: I also have an injured back, though not as severely as yours. I crushed my five lower disks single-handedly planting a rather large palm tree. Not smart... I will be taking this as soon as I receive shipment, so if you'd like I can report back to you in the coming weeks. Just friend me and send a PM. Also I asked for emails if you reply here.

BONE STRENGTHENING:

2 products by Jarrow labs: Bone-Up + JarroSil

http://www.jarrow.com/category/106/Bone_and_Joint_Health

I haven't tried them yet, but may add them to my curative protocol during the summer: I want to test the Ostarine alone to see my back progress first with just its action. Running a web search will give you suppliers for these last two products. The first one is a basic supplement with most of what your bones need, the second one is a highly concentrated supply of silicone which helps bones heal. Given your hardship, if you haven't tried them, they may be worth a shot?

Best of luck, and keep in touch -

What kind of back surgeries have you had? I have had several myself! It took 5 yrs of laying around before I got motivated and started training again!! I was the opposite of you though I got fat! I gained like 50 lbs I've had severe back pain since 1992!!! But the last three years have been great! So just start training again I know it's hard but once you start it only takes one time training Hard!!! And you will be back and in a couple of months you will be feeling great again!!!!

I had a 360 fusion of my L1-S1 with them removing the L2-L4 AND replacing with donor bone implants. The actual support rodding goes all the way to my tail bone (S5) but the cage for stabilization only to S1. I was playing D2 college ball when the injuries occured, herniated all 5 Lumbars and fractured 2-4. I have the same issue with leg and back pain and opted for the methadone because it seemed to help my bone pain more than anything. Im taking 120mg every 24hrs and i know its just killed my T Levels. after a few months on it i had no energy sex drive and my muscles just started disappearing and im usualy a stocky Guy!

Yeah my leg pain has never gone away!! I have now and will more than likely always have it!! Have you started training again? How long ago was your fusion??

0ctober of 2009. I was 19 when i injured it but they wouldnt do surgery based on the fact my growth plates were still growing so i had to wait 2 years. i started back up last year just running basic supplements but didnt matter how hard i trained i wasnt putting on any mass at all. Thats why i figured running a small cycle to maybe combat side effects. i would love to completely be off all the meds and i have tried but its a demon man, the worst hell in my life. Doesnt help i work in the oilfiled either.

Fuck how did they keep you out of pain for those two years?man keep training the training will help you get rid of those meds!! I'm going to send you FR!!

i am on methadone as well but i find it weird your doc wont check your test levals concidering in my country (canada) it is part of the program because methadone is known to lower your testosterone levels so men that are on it are perscribed testosterone at 200mg every 2 weeks. Not sure how it works where your from but we have to go to a special clinic and a special docter to get methadone.

I dont go to a special clinic but my Pain Management is an Anesthesiaologist who specializes in PM. have gone to him multiple times regarding my libido and energy levels and he just says the energy is due to side effects of the methadone and libido is due to the incisions made in my abdomen for my surgery. I had a 360 fuse which they made an incision from my scrotum to above my belly button to remove damaged lumbar and then i have two smaller incisions on lower back for caging/support rods.He says it isnt a libido issue just a blood flow issue from scar tissue! im 25, i shouldnt be having problems getting wood ya know! lol but when the desire is gone i know its not anything my but my T! And i have a hot gf i come home to every night and she has been miserable!
