Yoga
ad
Was talkin to my sports doctor yesterday when I was getting my BMI and physical evaluation done and he recommend possibly doing yoga a couple times a week to improve my flexibility( I admit I have lost a bunch over the last year) saying it will help prevent injury and overall fitness
Any of you guys or gals do yoga? How often? what kind and do you do it at home or go to a place to do it?
Thanks!

If I could only do one type of workout it would be yoga. Yoga works the body's muscular, skeletal, nervous, digestive, endocrine, and cardiovascular systems. It helps your body and mind recover faster from other types of grueling workouts. Yoga is a very demanding workout especially if you're new to it so I would start at home.
AnonI love Yoga..I use to go to classes until I moved now I do it at home...you 'll want to start with hatha yoga, it is the easiest and will suit your purposes
sgtstedankoI try to take a complete week off from hard workouts, every 16-17 weeks or so, to do nothing but yoga, meditate, ftx's. I'm a fundamentals "Nazi" though : ) I truly am more focused & better all around because of meditation & Yoga : ) No joke. I do them at home, outside, wherever, etc. Stick with em both, and they will help out immensely brother...
i have done a bit a Yoga - the poses will make a grown man cry... great for you imho.
It also helps with DOM'S which is also a big plus.
AnonDoes smoking a spliff on the couch count as yoga? Why not stick to normal stretching before, while and after you workout? Never been flexible myself so will never miss yoga but stretching a lot helps the same way to prevent injury
Get the Wii fit. it has dozens of yoga, strength and cardo exercises. If you've never done yoga, this walks you through several positions and gives you feed back so you know you doing it right, and to mark your improvement. cheaper than a trainer, and in the privacy of your own home.
Even a beginner dvd from amazon is good I got one for about 6 euro, micah johnson instructs it, great w.o. bout 45 mins long pleasant exercise, great when gym is not an option.
I do it with my wife time to time some of it's fairly difficult for me anyways buy I can say it's helped me especially with lower back paini am the only male in there though but it don't bother me
Hell, yeah. I do yoga, and other stretching exercises at least 2 times a week. I try to stretch and do some joint mobility exercises every morning before my first shower. Flexibility will increase your mass also. Don't forget to stretch the minor muscles and joints such as wrists, forearms, neck and hips.
