+ 12 Wtf has happened to Eroids?

ad

I used to stay pretty active here and spent a lot of time in the logs. For the last year or so, I've been on the road chasing jobs, so I've not been on much. All work no play gets old.

Since I've been back I've noticed a lot of things changed. Names are different. People have left. Tolerated age groups for giving advice have changed.

Biggest thing I've noticed is the quality of the advice.. For example, parroting is something that will always be part of any forum. Although I can't stand the shit, it is what it is. Problem is that most of the bird chirping comes for inexperienced guys wanting to gain experience and sound like they know wtf they're doing.

Generally the parroted advice is pretty general with shit like AI and hcg doses. It's bad enough we have dudes on their first cycle trying to tell folks they should blast hcg during pct and rectally administer their orals bc they kick harder. But when did we star telling these guys it's ok to add more than one new compound to their second cycle? Or even worse, that it's ok to not use an AI unless they need to??

Browsing the cycle logs, I see a guy popping up on every one of them. Telling folks how they should run dbol, Tbol, hcg, AI's etc. Then I come across his own log. He's on his first cycle of test only... Never touched dbol, Tbol, hcg, and hardly even knows how to use an AI. No big deal right? He's just trying to help... But then I see his draft for second cycle. 3 new compounds and no AI. I ask wtf? His answer was that this is what he was advised by some higher level members; multiple new compounds and substitute his AI for proviron.

Did I miss the fkn memo??

I'm with you, though I do have a problem with al the bitching about karma lately. There's like 6 or 7 threads on it right now.

Lmfao amen

Wow. This got pretty out of control quick.

Doss's picture

No doubt. It's all good tho.

The memo is simple, if you cant fix the problem on your own or with a group of eroiders then contact a MOD

Yeah bro. Gotta crush them up and dissolve them in a summers Eve with vinegar. Gives kind of a whiskey burn on the way up. I love it!

I feel like a fricken AAS genius when I post on some other boards.
We have some really smart dudes here on eroids, and I parrot their info often.
I always give credit though...Mega is my favorite guy to parrot.

Mega is a beast on the bloodwork.

What happened to Eroids? In one word "popularity". Eroids has become much more popular and there are many more members here than there used to be. Especially the "drive-by" members, which I feel are the genesis of most of the issues here. They are the ones who cause the most problems and frustrate the more advanced members, who in turn, stop contributing due to this frustration. That leaves a vacuum for others to fill. You get good, bad, inexperienced, posers, etc. who all rush to fill that void. I see most of the poor advice given by this group. That being said, I also see the most of the "grunt work" done by the solid members of this group. They are the ones who are consistently spending the time in the cycle logs, forums, and even the SI pages, correcting dangerous advice given out.
Are there things wrong with eroids and the crap that gets doled out, sure, but I also believe that there isn't a better place to get solid advice. I don't know if you'll ever be able to solve this problem completely, but I don't look at it as maybe as bad as some have put it here. Every time I see dangerous/crap advice given out (the SI pages being the exception), I have seen it corrected and the offending party(s) reprimanded for giving it.
I haven't read any compelling arguments that have convinced me that blowing up the whole system is the answer. I also don't think that adding more responsibility on the Mods is reasonable in any way either. I think if the good members of Eroids continue to step up and protect the rules and integrity of eroids, we'll be on our way to reducing these issues.
Most everyone on this post are the ones who step up everyday and help strangers, which is truly remarkable to me.
+1 for a great post Doss.

reading posts like this only get me frustrated. no AAS forum will be perfect. there is not one generally excepted way to cycle for each goal... the people that don't know shit, and give out advice will still be here unless they are banned, and more will show up afterwards.

if you know your shit, make your voice loud. lets have a more positive outlook on this site. After all it is the best AAS forum to ever exist!!!

manbearpig's picture

i want to re-clarify:

problem: apparently less info is being shared by knowledgeable members. less experienced people step in to give advice.

theoretical solution: raise moral for experienced users to give advice, and share more info in cycle logs and forums. bad advice, even regurgitated advice from inexperience people possibly needs to be banned more often.

Nitti's picture

Nobody knows there is no one way to cycle better than I do. I'm the guy who used AAS in a way that makes Viking cringe. But you seem to be grouping up ppl like me and someone who literally is brand new to bodybuilding or whatever sport and AAS use. They jump in on all kinds of shit they read. Having done no real work or putting any time in. Then spread their shit all over the forums. You're ok with that?

manbearpig's picture

bro, i know you were taught to use steroids from a fighter's standpoint. nobody could advise a fighter on this site better then you i bet. im not trying to group you and a noob together. you have years of experience using steroids, and plenty of knowledge to share. and just because your goals are different now, that doesn't mean you know less about how the compounds affect you.
i avoid giving compound advise. i have only done 2 cycles. this may seem like im lazy or creating a double standard, but to answer your question id feel WAYYYY more comfortable with someone like you giving cycle over someone like me. lol... im really not the type of person to put the work on others. i try and find other ways to contribute.

Doss's picture

The point of the post wasn't about dudes parroting advice. Those were only examples used. It was about supposed experiences members giving the wrong advice to the wrong members and how that shit spreads.

You've been here for a couple years, so you know almost as well as some of the longer members do that the quality of the advice and information side of the site has decreased dramatically from what it was several years ago. Shit, it wasn't this bad a year ago.

But to each their own. Not everyone here uses the site for info. Some just use the reviews and the src links.

manbearpig's picture

yes i do know that. the people on this site who were the most outspoken don't say much anymore. that leaves others who are as experienced having to step in. i can think of quite a few guys who chill in the source discussions who have a ton of knowledge to share. sometimes they share a little bit on the source page where it is never going to be read again after it hits page 2. A lot of those guys don't want to go against the site's more mild approach when giving advice and that is why they don't fill our forums with knowledge. For real tho, at this point i know that if you ask for advice, and you have serious goals in mind, the answers you get about how to cycle will be completely fucking different in the forum versus through pm. It just shows everybody is holding back...

fusebox's picture

.

Nitti's picture

Why did you do that?

fusebox's picture

After reading through the rest of the thread it sounded like I was going against what doss is saying and made me look stupid. This is the second time I posted something without reading the entire thread to see what has got us to this point in the discuusion. I wish I could have deleted that one too but someone responded so I couldn't change it. Won't happen again

Doss's picture

I didn't think you were. Even if you were, your views and opinions are welcome homie.

It's easy to forget that we have a continually evolving group of users as well... People seem to be in and out so much quicker now, and a lot of the posts with great advice are qucikly ran over and moved back by the ever-flowing torrent of posts ranging from the entertaining to the extremely informatve.

And then lets not forget where the true motivation here often lies..... KARMA.

Their like bottle-caps in Fallout 3.

Fallout 3=best game ever made. I agree with your points but seeing that fallout reference made my day!

Nitti's picture

Problem is that most of the bird chirping comes for inexperienced guys wanting to gain experience and sound like they know wtf they're doing.

This is the biggest issue I have is with this. Ppl who not only have little to no experience sopeaking like gurus but also parroting ridiculous bro science as id it were gospel. I think the veteran bodybuilders and aas users need to stand up and call ppl out when they see this.

Dickkhead's picture

I understand what you are saying but at the same time the cycles that are being posted for review in the public domain are super basic stuff. It's kinda hard to screw up even with inexperienced people. I just haven't seen to many magnum opus screw ups on the part of the community responding to something being proposed. For the OP proposing a first, second, or third cycle, OTOH, all bets are off.

Doss's picture

take a look at the references i made a few posts below. that's for a second cycle. am i the only one that thinks a second cycle shouldn't include adding a new test ester, upping the long ester dose, adding dbol, hcg, and proviron, and removing the AI? not just removing the AI, but substituting it with proviron. 4 aromatizing compounds, 3 of which are new and one is a higher dose than he's used to... see that's not just a newb posting this and getting it wrong. that's a newb who posted a cycle based on the advice he got from adv and exp tags, according to him. not one person on his log said shit but me.

Dickkhead's picture

The use of Mast and Provi in lieu of an AI is a UK thing that Catalyst admitted as such and some of the younger folk have just latched on to the idea. I don't do it that way, nor would I propose that in particular. What you just described is a total train wreck. I usually don't walk away from those without trying to pull out the survivors. Well, I agree with you completely, you will get no argument from me. Seems like I just need to pay more attention.

Doss's picture

Yeah. I remember when they did the experiment in the group forums. I never was privy to that group so idk the outcomes and how it compared with bloods. I know that they have AI characteristics but to what effect? From my understanding it's pretty mild compared to an AI. A less sensitive individual can probably get away with a single long ester at a modest dose using masteron or proviron. If they never run bloods, they may never even notice because libido is usually the first noticed indicator of out of whack e2, and masteron boost that pretty good for me. But at 750 mg, e2 levels rise more. Adding dbol, they rise further. Hcg adds to it again. Even 100 mg ed of provi ain't gonna keep that in check. Train wreck indeed.

Me and the OP for that issue butted heads thru all this, as you can see in the thread. He's finally humbled a bit and has more of an open mind. It's more difficult to dissuade people from these things when our adv and exp tags are telling the op it's ok.

Just another prime example of how karma does and doesn't mean shit. It shouldn't be a reflection of actual experience and knowledge. However, to the majority of newbs, the initial perception is to relate the karma score with experience level.

Catalyst's picture

Viking and I both do it and have done for years, we've mixed with some of the same circles of people, which is probably where it came from inititially long before eroids. Neither of us are estro / gyno sensitive, which has to be taken into consideration.

Do I recommend inexperienced AAS users doing it? No, absolutely not. In the same breath, I also believe AI's are over used these days.

Pale's picture

Three of us ran the UK style experiment this year. 2 of the guys, the mast and provi worked like a charm, with me it did not. For the guys that it works for it is great but it will not work for everyone.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

In hind-sight i now truly wish i had never even mentioned the mast/provi combo on this site, it seems to have caused a shit storm that i never expected... it has taken me far too long to fully realise that this is NOT a community of Bodybuilders who are looking for the most extreme and hardcore style of Aas treatment to produce out of this world gains...... that being said! now my door is locked and bolted tight regarding further Aas input ever on eroids..... Moderating, food, and natural supplements is the limit of my future input here on eroids...... Vets who i trust are welcome to input through PM buts that it.

P.S. .... Anyone who fancies my GURU tag can have it............. i see no point in carrying it when i have chosen to refrain from info giving.

The MOD tag stays in place because i am now going to destroy anyone i see giving second rate info in ANY of our forums.

Pale's picture

I meant no disrespect at all brother. If it came across that way I apologize. It was a great cycle, just for some reason I still had to use an AI. The other two had no appreciable estro sides. Again I apologize if I offended you, it was not my intent at all.

I should have been clearer up top. I was speaking strictly as far as the efficacy of Mast/proviron as an AI. If 66% percent of guys can use it and not need an AI that is pretty damn good.

Dickkhead's picture

Bro, I think the reaction to Mast and Provi is just the opposite. You mentioned it and because of the respect we have for your input, it then became the ONLY WAY to do things. It's like if you were to say Parabolan is the best Tren ester, suddenly every Tren cycle would have it included appropriate or not. Folks seem unable to take your input and view it as a new option to consider, but that's in no way as slap in the face, bro. Quite the opposite. Just because the masses don't know how to process what you say sometimes - I don't think that should motivate you to remain silent. And, bro, really, people have so much respect for you, they want you to see that they are incorporating your suggestions to gain your approval. It's like a much younger brother trying to gain the approval of the older brother.

Doss's picture

Too many folks want confirmation of their own ideas, whether good or bad. They read things and without getting all the info or having a good understanding, they think it's a good idea. So, they get their minds set on it.

Basic human psychology is to resist change, so the majority don't like to be told their wrong. These guys don't actually seek advice at this point. Instead they want confirmation and/or approval, and buck opposition.

I have a lot of respect for someone that can keep and open mind and be willing to admit their wrong or that their idea is not a good one. Problem is, that group is rare.

Dickkhead's picture

It's a problem when you are a MOD or super high ranking member and you can no longer give your opinion on something or make a suggestion. Some members of the community will treat what you say as if they are listening to the Oracle at Delphi.

Doss's picture

I feel you bro.. You got a lot of knowledge in that noggin of yours. Personally, i wish you shared more of it.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

Burnt out bro........... the people you are referring too in your last couple of posts have finally worn me down..... 34yrs exp means nothing to these 2/3 cycle ADVs and EXPs on here, nothings gonna change so its time i stepped down before i go mad.

KK9111's picture

maybe its time to change or add some new tags. That way people might listen more to someone who has the right experience and has the knowledge to be giving it

Doss's picture

I hear you for real.. It's a damn shame... But I don't blame ya.

Nitti's picture

Second cycle should not include new compounds. It should consist of a new ester and different AI to see if maybe you react better or worse to that AI, or that ester. Maybe it's prop and they try ed injects instead of eod. Maybe sust eod of e3d. Test in higher a higher dose. I think that adding 19's should be after a few test runs and a mild DHT like provi with test etc. this can be disputed but you get the point. You're on the money. And chics should use var in higher doses long before they touch test IMO.
