What would happen if

a piece of rubber stopper matter is injected into the muscle? Even a tiny tiny piece? It almost happened to me today, glad I caught it in time

Well honestly I would have chunked the vial. Unless your using huge needle I don't see how it would get through.
AnonYour body would likely attack the rubber (just like when a lot of body piercings are rejected by the body).
Medical grade rubber stoppers are generally either composite blend or silicone. Either way it would be extremely hard to pass though a 23G which just for the assumption is what you used. Just like fake boobs you now might have a little silicone in you.....
I've done it. It doesn't feel very good. You're in for a little pain. But I'm still breathing. It doesn't bother me today. I couldn't pin that cheek for 3 months tho.
I'm sure I got that piece out. What are the symptoms of an infection, redness? I think what I have is just normal pip hopefully
I have PIP today, minor swelling but no redness.
I think this will be my last cycle. I jus rhate pinning. This is my second shot. First shot was in the right glute and went perfect, no pip. This one didn't go as smooth, my hands were shaking. Now I'm afraid it might've gotten infected because of the swelling. I need to find a nurse to date
MakaveliCD7Basically what would happen is u would have a foreign body lodged in ur tissue which ur body would immediately try to attack causing an extreme inflammatory response and end up a huge abscess that would require surgical removal of the particle and possibly the tissues surrounding if they are necrotic bc of the infection nucleus....the hole it will leave depends on exactly how deep the particle is... It's definitely not a cut and drain thing it's pretty serious depending how far it goes without treatment until it's discovered....j223 is very correct on using 18G needles they are best used in the ER especially with one dose vials bc the rubber stopper will stay intact but if u have a multidose vial then repeated use with a 18G will cause that rubber top to shear particles if not careful....using a smaller gauge takes longer but is safer on multidose vials.... Trust me u dont want an abscess or tunneling abscess.....u think localized cellulitis is bad!!!

That's why I don't draw with an 18G needle. 23G to draw. Remove and replace with a brand new 25G for injection
Guys the chances of rubber stopper getting into oil is MUCH higher if you are using 18G to draw
Same here with the 18gauge.... big needle for drawing the oil, switch to 25gauge. It's not only cleaner, but keeps the point sharp, near no pain going through the skin. Make sure to look at the oil in the barrel while getting the air bubbles out, I've never been worried about foreign objects in there though...
I draw with 25 and inject with 23 into glute or 25 into quads. The piece was extremely tiny and I have no idea how it got there. I was able to get it out of the syringe into the sink before injecting. Is there a possibility that the gear isn't sterile anymore?
Muscleg33kThat's why i changed the pin.. 18G 1 1/2" for withdrawl and 25G for delts/quads.
It would make the muscle appear that much bigger!!
I really don't know. I assume not something you want though, might cause some kind of discomfort or something.
It either gets broken down and absorbed into the muscle which I doubt or it creates big problems....would be my guess
I'm kinda worried now. Last cycle I had an infection and I'm afraid to get it this time.
