+ 1 What size needle do you guys (and girls) use?

ad

What size needle are you guys comfortable with? Either I get them too small and it takes forever to fill the syringe or the needle is too big and its painful. Any help would be appreciated.

Draconiaous's picture

I used a 23g. To draw and pin. Funny story.. When a friend and I first tried gear, we tried using an 18g 2in. Didn't work thank God. Went to his older brother and he pinned our Delts

DragonDog's picture

Use 21g 1.5" to draw, microwave to warm, 25g 1" to pin.

GrowMore's picture

Microwave? What do you put in the microwave?

KMC's picture

Im guessing the plastic syringe WITHOUT the pin attached.

Not what I would do,....... but to each their own.

DragonDog's picture

Yeah, it is just the plastic syringe without the pin. I run it for about 30 seconds.

Makwa's picture

Nuking it helps to make sure everything is sterile. 1 minute in the micro and it is good to go. lol

kodiakGRRL's picture

ouch...

DragonDog's picture

Spoke with a microbiologist/organic chemist and he said that it would not damage the Test unless it gets above boiling temp for an extended period of time. Seems like a quick, easy way to heat the oil with the additional benefit of killing some bacteria.

Makwa's picture

Make sure those syringes are BPA free if you are nuking them.

Good point. +1

Nuke it for a couple more and that gear is fyhra (fire).

Yolo and all that shit I guess!

21g to draw, 25g to pin so far, I recently bought some 26g and 27g to try but haven't used any yet.

Pale's picture

Almost exclusively 22 to draw and 25 gauge to pin in 1" or 1.5"

shaun1's picture

When oil is warmed well I draw with a 25 and pin with a 25. Always smooth and easy pinning. I like to pin nice and slow so the oil has plenty of time spread out and not lump up. Some times ill pin with a 27 as well. Its just trial an error until you find your comfort zone.

22g draw 22g inject that's what I was shown and taught first cycle

Hunter2400's picture

18g to pull

BD
23g - 1inch to pin in all 6 sites

i20bpm's picture

23 to draw-cuts down on chewing up the stopper as much as the lower gauges do.
25 gauge to shoot
And slin pin I use a lot more bc it helps to cut down on scar tissue which is a problem all of us have come across so it helps some.

felony's picture

Never tried that. Do you have problems getting the oil through the pin? I imagine its just real slow going which isn't a bad thing. Is this still IM or sub q ?

i20bpm's picture

Honestly I thought everyone has done it by now but as long as you heat it up in the heating pad or something we won't have too much of a problem. And yeah it's a little slow but like you said that's not such a bad thing and it's IM, I would imagine Sub-Q would hurt with oil LOL

Thanks

Not a problem bro

25g 1.5" B-D Precision glide

Drop-set's picture

25g 1" in quads, 23g 1.5" in glutes. Use 23g to draw, then swap to fresh needle. I wish they made a 1.5" 25g needle, but I've never seen them.

Same here with BD. I used to use excel but the BDs are much smoother.

Its what I use not hard to find. Look at the top two accessories sites. I order from both of them. They both carry that gauage and size.

cdyrdes's picture

Use a 1.5 25g all the time for glute shots dood, they're available.

Drop-set's picture

Thanks. I'll look harder. My go to place doesn't list them.

JL's picture

20g to pull oils, 25g 1in for larger deep muscles, 25g 5/8in for smaller muscles and slin pins for low volume shots. I don't mess around with back loading.

TheFlash85's picture

Slin pins.

Take a normal 3ml barrel chuck a 21 gauge to draw 1ml.

Take plunger out of slin pin, squirt oil from 3ml 21 gauge into slin pin.

Make sure everything is fkn sterile and ur hands are clean and sanitised.

Greg's picture

Why not just buy a 100ct box of 30g needles for about 10 bucks?

Greg's picture

Depends what I'm knitting, I'd say a 10 for an nice winter scarf, but I'd probably go with a 5 or 6 for a toaster cozy.

Would you consider knitting me a nice Afghan
