Tracking explanation please

So my usps tracking landed at LA, ICS and it displays this :
Inbound Into CustomS
Departed USPS Regional Facility
Arrived at USPS Regional Facility
Processed Through Facility
ISC
My question is if it departed usps it past customs already ? And if it did why does it say inbound in to customs when it departed ? Please help.

You are right. The company should be responsible for the safety of your package because you paid them. If not, it's a bad company.In Europe you rarely encounter this problem. FYI tracking packages is now used extensively as evidence in prosecution as it demonstrates you were expecting said package. Order sit back and wait.
Good info/insight. If someone was OCD and couldn't help themselves but to check after 3-4 weeks, you think they'd be safe using a third party tracking service through a proxy server/VPN?
I would like to believe the vpn would help disguise the identity and would prevent them from knowing who exactly checked the pack, but I don't know enough to confirm that.
I figured just curious. Would probably be ok but Always better to be safe and just leave it alone anyways
You'll either get your pack or a letter.
I had one that had the same status and then I got a letter in the mail. The tracking isn't correct half the time anyways. Just sit back and wait. You'll know soon enough.
When you enter the country you land, get your bags, and route yourself to customs. When you're past customs, you get on a bus that heads to your town.
The same with your package. USPS accepted the package at the border, selected it to go through customs. USPS will pick it up again on the other side of customs and route it to your home town.

Thank you Greg. So in other words my package Is still being process through customs or no ? What confuses me is the message that says "departed " . But it still shows "inbound " . Sorry if i sound confusing.

I painted a clear picture to demonstrate that the point of entry, Distribution, and Customs are not the same entity.
At 5am a plane lands in LA and a load of mail is brought into the USPS International Service Center
9 hours later it has been sorted and passed on to the USPS distribution center.
The USPS distribution center decides that it needs to go through US customs
The package gets scanned as leaving the distribution center and is heading inbound to customs. It then gets tossed into a bin with all the other mail items destined for US customs
CUSTOMS IS NOT PART OF THE USPS!
It has not been scanned by customs. and probably will not get scanned again until customs sends it back to the USPS to be "shipped to destination."
Your package can be in that bin at the USPS waiting for a truckload worth of mail before being taken to US customs.
Your package can be sitting in US customs waiting to be inspected, or has been inspected and tossed into a bin waiting to be picked up and taken to the USPS.
Or, your package can be already be back at the USPS waiting for someone to scan it in.

I don't do international, so I can't comment much. But I'd recommend being careful posting anything too sensitive. It wouldn't take a hell of a lot of effort for the man to cross reference your post and guess where that particular package is heading.

have you tried calling US Customs yet? Start with the post office first, give them tracking number, where it came from, what it is, and if they aren't much help try calling US Customs and ask them. They will definitely hand pick your package out and hold it for you and in most cases deliver it right to you with some nice steel bracelets as a bonus.
Also you can look up your tracker once every 15 minutes just to be sure its coming.
Call US Customs at 1-800-YRU-DUMB.
