+ 7 The dangers of Email exchanges.

ad

I have recieved a few emails lately that were responses to PM's, these emails have the names of members in their addresses example: ([email protected]) This is something that LE could easily use to pin you down and I don't want to see that, because I'd miss you crazy bastards. Please consider subscribing to an untraceable email account and use that for eroids correspondence. I'm sure you can find one but PM me or any advanced member to
ask how. Stay safe folks.

The sad thing is...there are people who dont know any better and will get an email for a service, and think its too good to be true or think they are lucky and have a good connection and fall for it. I dont think every one knows how much of our info is sold/exchanged out there without our knowledge

Personally, I don't somehow feel secure by having a clandestine email. I would however feel less safe knowing that a PM reply may have my work or personal email visible. Since it has happened, I thought a quick post to let people know that it does might help. You may not find it useful but some may not have known and that's the reason for the post. I would hope that most people have multiple emails for a variety of reasons, but for those who don't, here's your reminder.

I'm not sure if I understand u right but you mean when someone PMs you, you get a notification to your mail that u got contacted and the details from the member who wrote u?

If I'm right thanks for the info mate!

edit +1 good to know!!!

I'm not sure how it happens honestly, but I've recieved replies from members from their personal email after sending a PM to them. I assume that it's the email they joined the site with, I only mentioned it because some may not know.

It happens when you hit contact me and message someone withput being friends ... fr sent

Also, make sure to notify your bank before you use a CC to purchase a subscription to a secure email service, many of them are oversees and it may come up as fraud and freeze your CC. Helpful info I found out the hard way

Most have a free version I find useful. I'm not running a business with them only occasional transactions on line so personally the free versions work for me.

Good info. I find it easy to become complacent with myself here sometimes and need to remember what sort of thing we're dealing with. Thanks for the reminder!!
