Should I get this package?

I’ve been tracking an international order I placed. Apparently it’s coming in four different packages. Got this notice yesterday for the first one:
Available for Pickup -> Your item arrived at the [redacted] post office at 5:19 pm on January 15, 2021 and is ready for pickup.

How stupid is it to pick this up? Years ago I went and got one, but I was dumber and more desperate than I am now.

It is even easier to pick parcels up from post offices these days, as in most countries, you have to wear a mask when you attend any public premises. You should not worrie about picking the packages up from post office, you can always say that you have not ordered nothing like it
I would go pick it up. Happened to me before. They didn’t ask me any questions nor did they ask for ID or anything. Handed me my pack. That was it. No worries.

Of course it's better and safer to get package right to your doorstep, but i would say that there is very little chance that something bad can happen with your package and you need to worry about it. Lots of packages arriving and then you have to pick it up from post office, there is a few possible reasons like "shipping methods" or "lazy post man" who is not doing his job properly because of a warm meal is waiting him at home. So he will just drop your parcel off at the post office to save his own time and make you do all the job. It will only take him one scan of the ticket to do so.
I saw this kind of status "PickUp" many time and there wasn't any problems ever with any of those shipments. But of course, there is a little chance that next package can get in trouble, I'm just sharing my own experience.
Just to be sure you can check your tracking number if package delayed on custom or any other unusual action during the delivery, like if package released from custom clearance, then again went back to the same hub for custom clearance and released again, if you see this, this might be not a good sign.
I guess there is no real reason to worry buddy, just pick up your package )
Or if you to do this, you can try to call your post-office and tell them that you have an injury, so you can't pick up the package or any other reason why they have to re-deliver this package to your doorstep. This might work, but might not, haha

Did they attempt to deliver it first? Usually if it’s a package that requires a signature and your not home they take it to the post office or you can schedule a re delivery. It sounds like standard procedure

AnonYears ago I ordered some clothing off ebay and didn't check where it was being shipped from before ordering. It came from China and I got the same notice. I just went and picked it up. It wasn't anything illegal it was just clothes. My point is this can happen even with completely legal orders. I would just go pick it up or check if there is an option on the tracking page to schedule delivery.

That’s what I was hoping for but they didn’t deliver it today. So just going to go for it on Monday. Wear my sprinting shoes just in case.
Why do you even ask such things, better call the post office lol, they are not custom officers. Btw if you are from my country, the delivery guys are so lazy and they better drop off in your nearest pickup shop. If it has reached to pick up shop you should be safe
