Well its morning, the dust is settling and still, we can't see what reLly happened for all the debri's. I wanted to tke time to reflect and have some of you help with that but maybe more important, have newr members know who to thank for this giant incredible place called Eroids.
I came in over a yr ago and what I found was a "pretty " neat place to look for sources and even have a little fun and it was pretty cool I'll admit. But for those of you who have not been around for a while, if I were to give you the Eroids back that was here before Goth/Grrrl you would spit it back in my face. I want to share for you and particularly women maybe what these two have done for this site. Keep in mind, I know nothing more about what happened than most of you. So maybe I find out Goth was eating babies and Grrrl the one preparing them on the grill just to satisfy his need for protein? Sure, horrific and unforgivable but it would not take from the contributions of these 2.
Many people to credit obviously for the growth and greatness of this site and BFG is the top of that obviously. This site will go nowhere he he is unwilling to let it go. Saying so puts great thanks on him. He watched the site and watched the personalites clash bewtween many of us. Goth and I and Hollywood and girl right after as she came on and rather than banning any or all of us , he let the site evolve and let the battles take place. Mmany of you may remmeber the near cyber wars with "any discussion outside of AAS". Much of that was through PM but make no mistake, a serious clash of personalites had to occur to bring you the off topic section. Think about this site without the off topic section. Imagine it as I do now without a soul if off topic was gone. BFG understood that maybe the wars could be solved by having an off topic section and we could have personality and AAS reviews and discussions and made it happen. Goth was a big part of that occurance, helped pioneer such a place as off topic because one of our MODS felt too much "facebook" here. There was too much bullshit going on in the threads and thats because we are human being
s with personality and we need to laugh and bitch and connect with people, its what seperates us from the animals. So again, off topic is a mega part of this site and wars such as those gothwas willing to help fight was a big part in this secion.
Think about another big part of this site, a part that has become a staple and may now die.the EBC. What a proud thing for those of us who have competed but equally proud for those of us who have watched the friendships and achievments of our fellow eroiders. Another masterpiece of Goths. Goth and I bounced many ideas around about the EBC and some time back he sked me if I wanted to take it over? I said what? Are you tired of it? He said oh no bud, just know how mucbh you love it and would be willing to do that, I still very much love it. I said brother theres no way, of course i would love it brother but you are the EBC, you are the face of it. If for some reason your load gets too heavy and you "need" me to you simply say the word but outside of that I want to log in and know its a Goth creation and ran by the man himself.
So at the risk of this turning into a novel I'll keep the million other contribution from this special person to a minimum and just say, this guy is Erods folks so with him goe it has no choice but to become something else. I don't know what that will be. I'm sure it remains a great place given many of the foundations set by this man but it will forever change as a result of his absense, even if he comes back under new name.
Now let me reflect on my best friend here. What in the world will we do without Grrrl? What a super hero to this community. my screen got brighter everytime she logged in and know yyours did too. I don't need to go into all the impovements made to the site but let meallow you to know for those of you who don't. Anything female created in this site had grrrrl's fingerprints on it. She has been a pioneer to this site and I can assure you, this was not a women friendly place before her. Yes, we would be friendly to women alright but women don't like to be harrassed in the way Irish comes off to women can you feel me. Well grrrl would give even this sad bastard a chance. Lol....seriously, look at the shit she had to wade through just to be her, she put most of us in our place as women do and beagan to bring. Womans touch to this site. at some point and time it became woman friendly and more and more women came. Many of which who come and still don't feel fully comfortable in being all out there, but come for the wisdom created by this foundation grrrl laid out. The enite womens section which now has an untold volume of womens AAS use and protocol is all there, laid out nice and pretty as she is, with her prints all over evry ounce.
Thats the tip of the iceburg and a slap in the face to just mention thes few accomplishments so rather than me try to lay it all out, feel frre to drop in what you will miss or wha you appreciate about these two whether its just the incredible contributions to the site or otherwise. I guess what I'll miss most is those avi's at the top of my screen and knowing the incredible friendship they repreent and the unbeilevable saccrifice they gave to this site, that in th end was not enough to save them fom whatever happened here. Thats not a judgment btw, I don't know what happened and will reserve the right to judge once the facts are in. Hell they may have left on their own for good reasons so no blame here at all and frankly, I'd just like to keep this thread about what you will miss with these two and what you appreciated, plenty of other threads to bitch in or vent in.
