+ 3 Read before your next cycle

ad

This is a subject that hardly get talked about when preparing for a cycle. My couch asked me to go get a sleep study done. I looked at him with a stupid look. What are you looking for I asked. Simple he said rem sleep and sleep apnea.

Turns out sleep apnea effect your testosterone. It makes sense because testosterone is affect when you lack sleep. It turns out that if your running high testosterone and you have sleep apnea your opening a can of worms you did not know exist.

Luckily for us they tried out the study at 500mg to give us an idea. Everyone here should test them self for sleep apnea.

I don't have sleep apnea but instead I was diagnosed with alpha wave intrusion. Without medication I can pretty much forgot about any deep sleep let alone hardly sleeping at all. When I first went in with my low test symptoms one of the first things the doc asked was how was I sleeping. I said I don't. He said sleep has a big impact on your test production so the first thing we tried to bump up my natty production was to see if getting a better night's sleep would improve it. I now slept better with the medication and felt more refreshed in the morning but unfortunately a good nights sleep wasn't improving my T levels.

My sleep apnea progressed to where I had to sleep upright in a chair. If I lay in bed I started choking in 5 minutes. I started to have circulatory issues. My feet looked like I had advanced diabetes. It was killing me literally, no joke.

Now I sleep with a BiPAP machine hooked up to an oxygen bleed to keep my O2 sat high during REM sleep. I sleep like a baby now.

When sleep apnea starts, you don't know you have it, but it will continue to progress and get worse and worse and worse. Eventually you will KNOW SOMETHING IS VERY VERY WRONG.

People die from this. They go to sleep and stop breathing.

Keep packing on the muscle and getting bigger and bigger. Real big guys are prime candidates for this.

Also your genetic make up influences how you sleep, more specifically how deeply you sleep. Sadly my DNA has me on the light sleeper side, but I am confident that helps protect me somewhat from sleep apnea issues.

I had to get this done as part of my TBI treatment, it was kinda difficult for them to get conclusive results because I had to sleep on my back (usually sleep on my stomach) with a bunch of little electrodes and wires stuck to my head. And I was in the hospital so I don't think I really got much sleep cuz the results were all over the place lol.

I do agree it's important to get done, just wish they would have attempted to replicate the normal sleeping conditions I have at home.

They have a modern way it's like an iPhone and has a oxygen reader you put on your pinky and a chest strap and nasal tube. You can sleep normal I did it for 3 days. Turns out I have sleep apnea.
