Quad Muscle froze

ad

Woke up at 3am this morning in extreme pain. My left quad was sort of froze with my knee in a bent position. All of the muscle in my quad started squeezing so tight i thought it was going to pop. It just kept getting tighter and tighter and would not release. i couldnt stand and couldnt straighten my leg. This lasted for a good 5 min before it started to loosen and release the muscle from being super flexed out. I honestly thought my quad was going to rip apart from being so flexed and tight. Never felt pain like that and it was like a vice grip getting tighter and tighter. was like the muscle was doing what it wanted and i had no control, it just wanted to keep squeezing tighter. Does anyone know why this happens?

if your pinning quads, nerve damage.

Don't forget sodium. Last time I had a cramping issue like that I had been drinking a lot distilled water. Potassium did nothing - 1 tsp. of salt in a glass of water - 10 min later cramping gone.

ThermoTabs are awesome! You can get then cheap on amazon. They have ended all my cramping problems.

Water, potassium, magnesium, taurine. A deficiency in any of these can cause severe muscle cramping, you can supplement with them or try to get more in your diet. It was likely a random muscle spasm that turned into a really gnarly cramp.

I do not know why this happens but my left calf rips itself apart at least once a month.
What does seem to help is to take a tablespoon of salt in hand and wash it back with as little water as possible.

The BP does rise, but the cramping stops.

Good luck keep up on the magnesium and potassium also.

If you want get get fancy, add some citrical for calcium and and some boron.
Boron regulates the magnesium and calcium balance/intake,and magnesium regulates the potassium uptake.

So the short story is to take all the electrolytes at the same time, and let the body sort it out.

I have been doing a lot of quad injections lately, not sure if i am doing a lot of damage to the muscle with all the pinning. not sure if that had anything to do with it or not.
