Pop in my quad

ad

I posted another forum similiar to this and hardly got any advice. I was doing squats and felt a pop about halfway between my knee and hip on my outer quad. Wondering if this is just a muscle tear or strain and will repair on it's on......

Was it a super sharp pain when it happen?

it is muscle tissue and what you felt was a superficial nerve tap. I have done this a lot. Cross tape it for support go easy let it heal you will be fine. Ibuprofen for anti pain and swelling. In a day or so a bruise should form and in the muddle of it will be a darker spot that is where the tear happen. Sometimes there is no bruising it depends on the person.

You will know by testing the quad on leg extensions. Start with the lowest weight and slowly raise it if at any point feel pain stop it. If you feel a tightness but no pain than do some reps slowly and control the negative movement on the way down. The muscle fibers are healing when it is tight and has a pulling feeling. Then just take it from there gradually adding more weight. Potassium, calcium, and magnesium are essential for muscle healing. But watch the magnesium to much and you will get bad gas, stomach cramping and diarrhea. Also taurine is very good for healing the torn muscle as well. You may heal quicly depends on the person's immune system and the smarts to not over due to quick. Goof luck buddy hope you heal fast.

Is it sore? Swollen?

Human body can be deceiving sometimes. I had a grade 3 tear in my pec, minimal swelling and bruising was only in my bicep. Docs thought it was grade 2 til MRI proved otherwise.

You did this a few days ago? Sometimes swelling takes a few days too

Probably a tear brotha. Can't say what grade but I had the exact same feeling when I tore my pec. I went into shock it was so bad lol

Grade 3 yes surgery is recommended, grade 2 is about 2-3 months off, grade one is about a month.
