NOTICE CONCERNING REP POINTS
As most of you know, we have a point system here on eroids that allows members to award points to others based on how helpful comments were to them. This system is clearly being abused and it's no secret who's doing the abusing. I've seen members get awarded points for insightful and brilliant one-liners such as "lol"...."LMFAO", and "No Homo", just to name a few.
When other members see guys getting points for such intelligence, it's degrading to them...especially when they've just spent an hour trying to construct a meaningful, helpful response to the question of a new member seeking desperately needed advice. In turn, they lose interest in making anymore responses because they feel like it isn't appreciated. It seems like more and more, ignorance and trivial remarks are rewarded with recognition...not to mention the fact that fanboys reward other fanboys of a particular supplier simply for singing his praise. Somebody please tell me how it's "helpful" to you to see YET ANOTHER "it's gtg" after seeing the first 50.
Starting NOW, if MODs see you with points that weren't legitimately earned, you WILL lose them, and YES, WE get to decide if they were legitimately earned. We realize you have no control over somebody else giving you points, but that doesn't mean you get to keep them...especially when they were given for bullshit. If you feel we are wrong, shoot us a PM and we'll discuss it. But the days of point-whoring are over.
Members handing out rep points like Obama handing out stimulus checks will be warned.....then point-docked....then banned, if need be.
Lets keep integrity of eroids intact.

Thank you I was wondering how some of these cats were racking up points so quick when it took me so long just to get were I am at and that's not even high at all . If you put the thought and time in to help people you should be awarded not abuse the system . thats why eroids is the best because people like gothic make sure that the content on here is true and knowledgeable. Thanks gothic for keeping it grounded not some mad house.
Definitly something that needed to be addressed however I feel that people have been awarded zero points lately because there scared to get yelled at haha
AnonNoticed this and thought along the same lines. Like that it is being acknowledged and dealt with by the mods. Think this is one of the little issues that will greatly improve site quality now that it's laid out on the table.
I am with you man. I stopped posting trying to help and yes it is deflating. I have added pics,gear reviews and even asked that more time is spent on gear reviews rather than giving a fuck if the supplier is fast or how great his communication is. Dudes been on here 3 weeks with more points than myself and no logs,no gear reviews no input on the workout page which to me is the most important page that and the diet page. It cracks me up how few people visit those pages. Anyhow thanks for the eagle eye in regards to this matter. Can you hawk it like grrrl does people posting questions on the review pages:)

But Goth....according to our current leaders, giving and injecting free money into the economy and places like unemployment is supppose to make us Americans work harder and go out and get jobs even though we are getting free money from the Govt? So getting points for absolutely nothing or any type of quality contribution isn't gonna make us make us work harder to give a good researched review or advice??

Keynsian economics and cheap, fiat rep points have much in common, and both will lead to the collapse of of a system. However, unlike our fearless leader in the U.S., our leader here on eroids understands that successful societies are built on actual production, not wishful thinking.

Thanks. I keep wondering how the hell I have 4 when I have been on here longer then MANY, made a few decedent posts...and fricken 4. I stopped really caring about the point/size a while back. I take and give info how I can! Thanks to all that contribute! There is some really great knowledge around here.
