+ 13 Lots of New Posts... (Click Here If You Are a Newbie and Want to Gain Weight)

ad

... Posted by newbies in the AAS and Cycle forums, many of whom complain about not being able to gain weight when they are (in most cases) below their natural genetic potential. By comparison, very few posts by these same newbies in the Weight Gain section--the same applies to newbies wanting to lose weight.

It's repetitive.... Over and over and over..... Diet, diet, diet. It's that simple. What is your TDEE? Wan to bulk up? Add 500 calories to your maintenance intake, with the correct proportions of macros. Want to lose weight?
Subtract 500 calories from your maintenance. This next part is very important, too: plan your meals ahead of time, prep enough of them at once so you do not have to worry about skipping meals throughout the week, and watch your body transform. Pretty cool, huh?

Steroids will not do much for you if you are not getting the proper macros and calories from your meals. You will not develop your ideal physique, assuming you want to look like a bodybuilder, if that is what you think. If you can't gain weight without steroids and follow a proper diet, if you have yet to hit your natural genetic potential, you will never be able to do it with steroids. Sure, you can run a cycle and put on weight... It will mostly be water and fat. Guess what? Once you come off cycle, you will lose whatever muscle you managed to gain because your diet is shit. Focus on your TDEE, nutrient partitioning, and watch your body transform.

And remember to track those calories. You can't just wing it and expect results. Once people actually track their cals they are amazed at how far off they are in what they thought they were eating. Myfitnesspal is a good app for that.

Definitely. Newbies can basically eat garbage their first 2--3 years of lifting and see gains, although the quality will not necessarily be optimal. It is after that period they hit plateaus and wonder if it is time to make the jump to AAS. Instead they should focus on a strong nutritional foundation right out the door, IMO. MyFitnessPal is a great app to help them accomplish their nutritional and muscle building goals.

It's so true bro.. it's the simple things that are so easy to over eat if you don't measure and weigh your food.. my fitness pal is awesome I use it every day

Another huge benefit to weighing food in my opinion is that it trains your eye to see portion size. Meaning after you see 4 oz of lean meat on the food scale numerous times, you can "eyeball" portion sizes much more accurately when you do not have the benefit of the scale

Absolutely true brother... with me it was always stuff like rice I'd be way off on...a serving of rice really isn't much so I'd end up over eating it.. once you start to take diet very seriously you won't even eat it unless you can count it.. well most of the time Smile

Hello Sir,

Well said, posts about muscle gain and fat loss come up on the forum daily. This is smart and simple advice even though may still look complicated to someone that is new to this.
The problem is that people don't even want to learn, study or research nowadays. All they want though is someone to write a specific diet and exercise plan for them so that they don't have to do non of it.
These people would rather pay hundreds for weight loss seminar than actually open google and put some work in.

Regards

Agreed. Bodybuilding is about determination and dedication, in my eyes. If people aren't even willing to use Google to read books and peer-reviewed articles on bodybuilding nutritional requirements, they've chosen the wrong passion.
