leukocytes
ad
Sup bros! The past few day's i noticed slight pain by my right kidney. I originally thought it was back pain cause i do have back issues but it was a dull pain not bulging. Today i called my doc and she had me piss in a cup and said she needs to send it out to check proteins and she found a small trace of leukocytes in my urine. she told my wife no worries cause their good friend's. I found it leading to a kidney infection and wondering if anybody has been through this. Thanks in advance.

Yeah i seen that and thank you as well!
Leukocytes are white blood cells and its natural for them to be in the urine. The body disposes of aged and dead WBC's through urine. They key is the level of WBC's that were found and the specific type. There are differnt types of leukocytes and each one is designed to fight specific types of infections be it viral, bacterial, parasitic organisim, cancer.... you get the point. The urine naturally has a level of leukocytes to protect your urinary system just like your tears and saliva do. Thats why dogs lick their wounds and they heal better. If you get dehydrated and arent passing urine on a regular basis you develop urinary tract infections because your not flushing it with WBC's enough to fight off everything crawling up your pisser, this can also be causesd if you have damaged or overworked your kidneys lately, you could have a kidney stone thats causing the pain and your body has responded to the damage with an immune system response, if your not running a fever chances are its minor whatever it is. I could write alot but i ll save the essay for anyone who wants to pm me but my advice for now would be to make sure your properly hydrated so you can flush your system properly and to drink real cran-apple juice not the fake crap. Its not an urban legend it s provedn to lubricate the urinarty tract in a way that prevents bacteria from clingy securely making it alot easier to piss out bacteria that is tryong to set up shop. The urinary tract is one of the only places in your body that needs to stay completely sterile.
Awesome info and thank you!
Trace of leukocytes is usually meaningliess without other things in the urine like blood or nitrites. However, it maybe helpful to send a urine culture out to check to see if any bacteria grows out. I know you said your married but I have seen people with std's especially Chlamydia that only show Leuks in the urine, but they usually have some other symptom as well like burning when urinating. Anyway, overall it probably means nothing but I would see if she sent out a culture. Hope this helps.
She didn't mention blood or nitrates so i hope that's a good sign.
Yeah she's sending it out for culture. only symptom i got is the pain. My wife had gotten gov laser procedure done back in March but that was probably from me from previous relationship. Thanks for the response. The waiting game begins.
You be fine !! I am certain..
Thanks brother!
What? You got some pain in your kidney and white blood cells in your urine and "don't worry about it." Fuck that. See a nephrologist (kidney doc) and not a urologist. The kidneys are really delicate organs bro. They need to be treated with TLC. I'm sure your doc is not an outright quack, but this sounds like quackery big time. Take care of yourself bro if your doctor doesn't see fit to do so.
I was told about 15 years ago that I was gonna need a heart transplant because of the lesions throughout my coronary arteries and there is "nothing we can do." This was in New York City from what I thought were some of the nation's finest cardiologists. What a death sentence.
Well, that didn't sit well with me so I went to Baltimore and got a second opinion from Johns Hopkins Hospital. The head of the cath lab took some pictures and said dryly - not a problem sir, we can fix this. The same week, I was in the OR at Hopkins where the doctors stented all the clogs and restored 98% of the circulation while I was awake for the procedure in about 45 min. I asked the Dr. for a prognosis. Mr. X - "You can climb Mt. Everest for all I care."
This past year, I presented to my doctor with pneumonia symptoms and he failed to order a chest x-ray. The infection progressed and I ended up in the hospital for 5 weeks and nearly died from empyema with two chest tubes draining the blood and puss from around my lungs round the clock. The sepsis traveled to my heart whereupon I had a heart attack while in the hospital, liver failure, kidney failure and a long list of other nasties. There were 15 doctors on the case. All could have been avoided. Just to give you some perspective - the hospital bill (excluding charges from all the docs) was $677,000 alone. Glad I have good insurance.
I think she told my wife no worries cause she knows how i get. At this point i gotta wait until the urine culture comes back. I hate the waiting game.
Docs today think they know it all and hate it when you do your own research. You went through some scary shit but I'm glad your still here having a convo with me bro! Take care of yourself.
Bro, I have four (4) Ivy League degrees. And, thus, the God complex that many professionals like doctors and lawyers have doesn't impress me. Doctors have all different competencies and skill levels. Simply because there is an M.D after the name doesn't mean he or she knows shit. I may be a little rough here but I have learned the hard way with docs that if I am unhappy with the diagnosis or prognosis I will pick up and go elsewhere in a heart beat.
I have 4 kinds of ivy in my back yard. That makes us cousins or something.
I wish I had Ivy in my back yard, All I've got is Florida swamp grass.
Yeah i always believe in second opinions. I just want this culture result back stat!
