+ 4 Hurricane Helene

ad

I hope everyone is safe after Hurricane Helene. Thankfully we have a roof over our head and damage could be worse, but have been out of power for two days now and still no idea how much longer we will be out of power. Everyone stay safe and be of a help if you can.

Let’s come together in these devastating times. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I used to live in NJ but that didn’t stop Hurricane Sandy from pounding us super deep back then. Even down here, on the Gulf side, it hasn’t been that bad near Tampa in the 6 years I’ve been here. Also, Helena did damage well inland from the coast of Florida up through North Carolina, up into Tennessee and the mountains. When I looked at the radar map as it hit, that storm was almost as long as Fl. To answer your question, Idk.

Hope all of you's are good. But why do all you down there stay there when that shit keeps happening year after year? Like playing Russian roulette no? Prayers for all those who had a hard time bc of this didn't even know there was a hurricane.

Hey, man, I’m really glad to hear you’re safe after Hurricane Helene! But being without power for two days is no fun at all. Just hang in there! Take care and stay strong; it will get better soon.

IRONWarrior99's picture

I really appreciate that! We are hanging In here. Just hot as hell, at least we have running water so we can take cool showers Smile

Thats good bro! NC got hit pretty bad in the mountains. The estimated time for us to have power is Tuesday night. The temp is 87 in the house and all the windows are open.

Very Sorry to hear about all this guys, I cannot imagine what it must be like with no power for that long - I freak out if it is down for just an hour. Do you all have solar chargers for your phones?

IRONWarrior99's picture

Thank you brother! t’s hot as hell, but we are managing by taking cold showers a few times a day. Wish we had a pool lol I don’t like being hot for too long, that’s for sure. We have been charging our phones from our cars. Pain in the ass, but it works and we sit in the AC as we charge them Smile

One silver lining you get the quality time and conversation away from the annoying nuance of electronics.

Sense of community bro, the fact that eroids is your go to in the time of need shows that people give a fuck about community on here.. idk I like your post dude

Is it still hot out there?! Its freezing here now, 5 C. Of course - the car!! Do Gas stations end up getting destroyed too in these hurricanes?

press1's picture

My God buddy, just been reading the latest updates on this as there isn't a lot of coverage in our News. Do you know when you will have power back on then?

IRONWarrior99's picture

The power company sent us an email that it should be up 10pm Tuesday. There’s no gas stations open about 1.5 hours from us.

My thoughts are with you and your family mate, I hope you all stay safe and well. Are you okay for food and water in the meantime - have they set up help points nearby for these things?

IRONWarrior99's picture

We have some dry food and plenty of water for about a week. No word on help points near by as of now. Thank you brother!

The first floor of my winter home flooded up to the top of the bathtub... I'm guessing the bathtub drain kept it from rising any higher. ;-)

IRONWarrior99's picture

Hopefully it’s not damaged too bad other than the flooding brother.

I live in Southeast FL and while the winds were pretty heavy, we didn't get as much rain as I thought we would. My girl and I took all of our plants off of our balcony as well as decor that could blow over and moved them inside for a few days. I think that was a smart decision lol.

IRONWarrior99's picture

We had to do similar lol it blew sections of our fence off and the neighbors stuff flew into our yard. I’m just happy we’re alive and our house isn’t too bad. Some repairs and lost all the food in the fridge including some GH.

Damn, man. While I'm sorry to hear that, I'm glad everyone's alright. You can always get more food and GH. You can't buy another life.

IRONWarrior99's picture

Absolutely! I’m just happy we’re alive. Thank you brother!

To all the fuckers in South Carolina and the peaks around Tennessee they just smashed surge records, this is the third hurricane consecutive to hit inside the curve of Florida

Shits getting rough , went through Sandy with a surge of over 17feet absolutely destroyed the community, now everyone’s more corrupt then ever and houses are twice the size as before ..

That storm was absolutely no joke, I am still waiting for power as well as many others in the area. Thankfully for me, it’s only power because the death toll was over 40 last I saw. Absolute devastation in certain areas.
