Going to the Gun Range

ad

Gonna head over to the gun range with my girl this weekend so we relieve a little aggression.
Just wondering if there are any gun enthusiasts in here, and what is their favorite gun they own.
My current handgun is a Taurus 9mm Slim. It's a great lil gun for CCDWs, but is pretty shitty in terms of shooting much distance down the range.
Looking to pick up a new handgun sometime soon...I'm open to suggestions if anyone has one they particularly love.?

Love my full size Beretta PX4 Storm and my Colt Commander. Have the Colt new agent too and it's good for CC , but I usually just carry my Ruger LC9. Have my great grandfathers Springfield trap door 45/70 that is a BLAST to shoot!

Other than that I have 2 ARs, an AK-47,a Tika T3 300 Win Mag, 4 - 12 gauges , 2 - 410s, a Springfield 30-06, Winchester 30-30 and several 22s for rifles.

Pistols is a WHOLE other post!

Next on my list is a CZ Phantom , I just love the feel of that thing in my hand, and a Beratta CX4 in 9 to match my pistol.

I go to a pretty good gun range with my girl,I got her into it and she seems to be loven it,she likes to shoot the 10 & 12 gauges,as I like toying around with my 38 special, aka 38 stub nose, very powerfull very small,My fav though is a 58.cal springfield rifled musket, its awsome to load & shoot,it was passed down from my grandpa and his grandpa and so on.when u shoot something with it u understand why it did so much damage when people got shot in the civil war

Not really into guns, but I can shoot. I can knock down 700 meter targets all day with a stock m4 and a plain old EOTech, no magnification. I could care less about handguns and fucking mounted weapons are boring as fuck to shoot. Unloading drums/boxes with a SAW/240B from the shoulder is fun.

Lol no bro they ship (free) it to any ffl in the usa then you just do a out of state transfer (usually under 30 bucks) and take it home. I've ordered two guns online, its the only way I do it now

I'm some what of a "Gun nut" myself and compete in 3 gun tournaments. If you in the market for a new handgun I would suggest renting a few different ones at the shooting range and see what one fits your hand best. I personally use a CZ-SP01 in 9mm (18 round magazine). I got it for about 450 bucks with night sights, and had a gunsmith do a trigger job on it for about 100 bucks. It shoots better then the Sig-P226 I used to run. IMHO Sigs and HKs are way over priced and I cant stand glocks single action trigger. Also keep in mind that 9mm ammo is about half the cost of .45

Glock 26 myself with some nastys in the clip.I also have a Kahr pm9 but my wife carries it now:) New law in my state last year. When traveling in state your vehicle becomes an extension of your home enabling you to carry your concealed gun loaded in the glove box, under the seat without a concealed carry permit. Result.. Carjackings on the decline as well as robberys. Jackers were getting blasted!!!

I have had several guns over the years but only own one now, I liked the tauras, and I had a sig that was sweet but the heckler and kosh squeeze kock I got now put them in the dirt.

I'm kind of a fan of the work done by JMB. :-)

But this economy sucks, in the last year and a half I've sold a Colt Gold Cup, a magna-ported 629 with the sweetist trigger a good gunsmith could do, a Citori, a unfired 7mm Mag bolt gun w/scope, a unfired Colt PreBan 6700 Competion H-bar, a S&W Mod66 (with another great trigger job), and a couple thousand rounds of ammo, plus stuff I can't even remember. Next up will be my "High Power" target rifles. :-(

ya bro i hear you nothing better than a nice 1911

DoWork's picture

I have a 1943 Springfield M1 garand in 30.06, bushmaster AR-10 .308 and a Sig 556 rifle .223: Sig 220 in .40 cal, smith and wesson 686 .357 mag, kahr pm9, kel-tec p3at and anHK 45c. That garand is my favorite out of my collection....that thing is a fucking beast, packs one hell of a punch.....don't know how those boys in WWII carried that thing all day along with that heavy ass ammo. I carry the kahr pm9 for concealed carry and leave the kel-tec in the car.

arlis77's picture

i had a 9mm kel-tec once...nice small pistol ...some.police i hear use those.for secondary backups...little fucker had some.kick for being so small.....

arlis77's picture

dosent that gun the last round pops out the clip?...makes that metal sound right ..m1 grand? is that what you have?

DoWork's picture

Yep, that's the one...8 rounds then the metal clip gets ejected and makes that distinct sound

DoWork's picture

Thanks, It's been years in the making, LOL

Thor's picture

I carry a springfield XD .45cal but it sucks for the shooting range. 9mm glock is what i use at the shooting range !

jpal's picture

like 45 as well 10mm is a nice round as too

carnealsr's picture

I have the desert eagle 45 got last Christmas and just for fucks sake I got the Taurus Judge

carnealsr's picture

Not really one of the most balanced handguns I've ever shot the iraq soldiers get them issued to them they are a bit pricey is the big downfall

juttsmen's picture

Im with Body builder !Ive had the deseart Eagle , its a novelty item. THe glock 23 is a .40s&w. Perfect for home defense. You can also get a 9mm conversion barrel for it. So you really have 2 guns in 1. How cool is that. Lone wolf make it. Search for 40-9 lonewolf barrel.

Trenabolic's picture

I love guns. I own a desert eagle, glock23, Ar15,ak47, and a gsg5. For a handgun id recommend the glock23. It's a 40s&m, so you have got a good balance of power and accuracy.

Trenabolic's picture

Yeah its easy to shot and it still has enough stoping power. The eagle is just for bragging rights that thing is a cannon.
