+ 3 Gear, Food and Money to spare..

ad

Ok I've come across alot of people over the past few years who complain of money problems. Now some of which have real issues that are truly out of their control and pretty much they are dealing with unfortunate circumstances and just need help. That being said, MANY and I mean Most of the people I've come in contact don't fit that description and complain about finances of which they are victims of their own greed, egos, and stupidity.

If your serious about lifting, health, sports, family, whatever it is, and have specific goals than your priorities and finances will reflect that or contradict yourself. I'm tired of people coming up to me and asking me what the "secret is" and I tell them about this or that or eating pastured meats and eggs, raw milk, organic crap etc.. and they responding about it being out of their league financially.

Look if your driving a car you don't own and can't afford, ie. your paying off a loan, that means your renting a car from a bank so you can pretend you own something. Just drive a P.O.S for now and save up till you can buy a car and guess what? you'll have way more money each month to spend on quality food, gear, family vacations ,etc.. remember Life is a long game..

Look, if your paying monthly interest for furniture your ass if farting in at present- Stop IT! The majority of the world lives happy and content with little to no furniture - you can make due with some feung shui and mat to sleep on, and bean bag chair to fart in till you've got enough saved. Don't worry everyone already knows your not rich and doesn't care.

Look if having facebook available on your phone is such a priority for you that you need to pay $100/month for phone service, than don't B.S. me and say grass-fed Beef is out of your budget. Just say you care more about who the latest celebrity fag to go public is, than long term health.

Look if your paying $70-$100. Month to have a bunch of crap w/ commercials fed into your home 24/7 while your only actually only watching a few hours of it. STOP IT! if you like a show or movie watch it online for free and suck back a gallon of raw milk or run some Primo with the savings. You can catch up with your latest season of Glee when it's in the .99cent bin at target next year. And we can all make fun of then instead of now. Win. Win.

Look, and this one is controversial, but If your paying more than $200 a month for health insurance, you need to consider what your paying for... How much did you spend in co-pays/ buy in's over the past couple years? Did you know Dr.'s and hospitals will negotiate down to realistic numbers for visits and procedures if your willing to pay cash at point of visit as a self-pay customer? And anything major, you can fly to developing countries that have private 1st class hospitals and get what you need for a fraction of the cost! with better care and attention, and make a vacation out it. (any Aussies or SE Asian brothers know what I'm talking about) Ok I know this isn't an option for everyone, but seriously, with a little wisdom you can get better health care and save thousands per year.

And finally, Look - If your lazy and the majority of the things you cook with and eat at home were made to keep "fresh" till armageddon than STOP IT! You can make it yourself, fairly easily most of the time better. My wife makes lotions and soaps, spice mixes, dressings, even sun block and household cleaners and they are cheaper if not equal in price to crap you can buy, and it's all high end ingredients in bulk. Including most all food stuff. Nothing pisses me off more than guy who buys frozen pancakes at $6/pound but tells me milk fed lamb is too much at $7!!!

I've spent enough time in America to make a few observations, and the crap people buy there blows my mind, the poor pretend they're rich but sill look, act, are poor, and the middle class look rich, are stingy & whine about how poor they're are. People don't get rich throwing money away, they life below their means, make their means go further are generous and spend money on quality things.

Ok rant over. Hope this motivates some of ya'll to cut out the things that slow you down; whatever they are...

I love advice like this as long as it's not coming from my parents haha! I've never been addicted to anything except facebook and quitting that was one of the best things I have ever done.

Too bad my +1s don't count. This is far from genius but nonetheless a very astute observation. I love the part about 100$ for the phone cuz it's more like 150$ when you figure they got a CPU at home too. $150 a month so they can get on fagbook and brag about how they just killed it in the gym even though they did 1 set and spent the rest of the workout sitting on the bench (usually the one I have been patiently waiting for) updating their status and replying to msgs.
