+ 2 Flash Glucose Monitoring System (GMS)
ad
"Know how activities and food impact your glucose levels..."
"real-time glucose alarms and readings every minute that let you know when your glucose is too high or too low..."
They've started coming out with these new glucose monitoring systems (for diabetic use) where you wear a patch and an app on your phone tells you what your glucose level is real-time. I wonder if anyone has tried using one of these to program their diet more precisely, i.e, time their meals better, or when using HGH or if there'd be any benefit to those who are not diabetic.
An example of such a product is here: https://www.freestyle.abbott/us-en/products/freestyle-libre-2.html
Obviously, it requires a prescription but...

Hello, I've been using the freestyle libre 3 system for a year and I have to say it's great, no more pinching fingers, having constant control has helped me a lot to gain weight, I've always been slim. And by eating right and properly adjusted insulin delivery, I gained 8 kg. Food is simply the A&O whether diabetic or not. My health insurance pays for everything ;)
Lifted-presence92I’m assuming it would be rather hard to acquire without having diabetes but talk about being spot on when bulking and running a taboo peptide! Seems very interesting.
I don't know... sources seem resourceful.
there are always ideas, but the sensors are made by Abbott and there are even delivery problems at the moment.
How does the sensor feel when wearing it? Does it interfere with exercise, sleep, etc. Someone gave me the L2 to try, that's the one concern I have: comfort.
True but there are dozens of companies out there jumping on the bandwagon... after this post I ran across a site that was using it for weight loss and not diabetes. Their app was tailored to encouraging weight management as well.
So I use the Fl3, it's very small and I wear it on the outside of my upper arm. Every now and then you hit a little nerve when you sit down. is a short pain. From wearing it, it hardly bothers you, not even when doing sports. The only thing is sweat, the patch can come loose because of it. I got myself an extra patch, transparent, which is also used for fresh tattoos "Opsite flexfix" from Smith&nephew and also stick it over it. The sensor then lasts for 14 days and also records the curves and the long-term value. either as an app or as a reader from Abbott, great thing.
I have a good friend who’s a type 1 diabetic. He’s a happy bunny with it, sings it’s praises regularly and I haven’t heard any complaints about comfort from him.
Has to be better than poking your fingers all the time.
Pretty much exactly what he said.
yes totally annoying something like that, I have 15 years behind me ..
I looked at this system a while back when my HBA1c came back high on a couple of occasions on bloods, thought it would be a good way of monitoring it rather than finger pricking but seem to remember it was quite expensive at the time.
As a result, I lowered my Hba1c value from 8.4 to 6.8, you simply check your blood sugar more often and I was able to gain weight as a result, all in all a good thing. I get it paid for by health insurance and always a year's prescription
Thats impressive you were able to do that - thats back down into Pre-diabetic isn't it? So how are you able to gain weight as a result of lowering BS then, how does that work? Were you able to fit in more protein as a result of eating less sugar?
Thank you, no, from 6.5 Hba1c you are prediabetic. My metabolism was complete chaos. Has something to do with my past. Through my own research, I had new insulin prescribed and the libre3. By lowering the Hba1c value, my metabolism improved again because I used proteins and calories again and not just excreted them. If the sugar is too high, it is excreted through the kidneys and the body basically eats itself. I eat almost everything except light products. and thanks to the precise BZ control and appropriate insulin delivery via the pen. My metabolism has really improved and I'm feeling much better since things have been going uphill again.
I never knew the kidneys did that if blood sugar gets too high, so your urine becomes more or less glucose?
Yes exactly, if the glucose level is too high, it is excreted through the kidneys and believe me, it is light and cloudy like sugar water. My bz was over 600 so high, then I got 2 liters of saline to flush the kidneys in the hospital.
Pretty close to. Think the line is considered pre diabetic at 6.5 so a hell of an improvement.
thank you Sir!
Lifted-presence92You ain’t lying about that lol.
