+ 15 FDA's "reasonable variation", and expired meds wtf
ad
86% of meds expired up to 40 years are still fine given that the "reasonable variation" is 90% to 110%, according to FDA. WOT?!
Given that Americans currently spend more than $300 billion annually on prescription medications, extending drug expiration dates could yield enormous health care expenditure savings.

I and a nurse friend years ago who told me that over the counter medications are good for at least a year past their expiration date! In all probability, they retain their potency far beyond that! Pharma companies short date these products to boost sales and enhance revenues!
Very interesting read brother, thanks for sharing!
Clinical situations may arise in which expired drugs might be considered owing to lack of viable alternatives2 or financial concerns.
This does not sound promising at all lol, heading for trouble? But deff an interesting read, I guess I'm gonna stop throwing out some old meds. I'd like to see a study on peds expiration date now lol
Kind of a key phrase in the article.
No drug talk In the forums! Read the rules!
Oh hey....BFG, sorry didn't see it was you.
ha ha. You're friggin crazy bro......lol......
NO HOMO.......
RustyhookerProperly stored and airtight extends chems life. Oxidation will break it down. I still can't see more than 5 years past exp date without losses in potency.
Yep...tis true...protecting from light, heat and oxidation preserves well manufactured compounds....have to tell ya story in pm...
RustyhookerSure!
Another thing folks do without thinking is storing their meds and vitamins near the stove. Next to the fridge and catching hear from both angles.
I had some old soma muscle relaxers from over 10yrs ago. Yep them fuckers still worked like a charm:) made me remember what a real muscle relaxer is supposed to feel like
holy shit, i got prescribed this like two weeks ago for my quad and i told the doc i have some other muscle relaxer at home should i just use this? Hes like na, this stuff soma wont knock you out like the stuff you already have ( the stuff i had at home is weak). never taken soma before, popped two of them, then all of a sudden about 30 mins later im fucked up it just hit me like a brick wall, my girl goes out to walmart and calls me like 20 mins later, i had passed out lol, she says i start talking about librarys and how packed they are haha, then she gets home and i start going off about graphics on xbox 360. I was so caught off guard, i had no idea this shit was gonna have me all messed up. Needless to say the next time i only took one.
Yep that shit is string I'm prescribed them for my neck ithink mine are 450mg ones an that happened when I first started taking them, now i dont take them much but when I do i take a quarter lol
LMAO, .........kinds an attitude shift.
From: I'm a man and don't need stinkin directions, .........to,........... Shit, that stuff kicked my ass.
Great read. Big pharma won't be happy about this and will probably come out with 6 different supposed studies to contradict this. Just another example of how corrupt these people are.
I read this quite a while back, expiration dates are merely a "suggestion." I have used expired meds before, my mother had some valiums from 1980 and I popped them 9 years later and they still knocked me on my ass. They were the yellow ones that were cut out in the middle with a big V. They might have been older. I never trust expirations unless its food.
bigmurphThis is crazy 11 of the 14 drugs tested are controlled substances. So your telling me that 11 bottles of schedule 3 and 2 drugs were just sitting in a pharmacy for almost 40 years without any one realizing that.
Then the methaquelone they tested for those who don't know what that is its qualudes were supposed to be dosed at 200mgs and they tested at 240mgs 40 yrs later.
This is a great article its completely f ing crazy.
I still want to know what 40 yr old pharmacy had 11 controlled substances just lying around on the shelves for this long.
+1 great read
Hahahaha....DI's from the DEA letting some shit slide, huh???? Nice, bro...good read on article...
bigmurphIsn't it a crazy situation when this pharmacy came forward and released that they still had ludes I bet some rich old timers would have paid alot of money for that bottle
Yep...i'm sure several pharmacies have a lot of drugs that should have been destroyed...it's hard for ANY old timer to trash quualudes....lol
Hmm interesting read I don't see big pharma liking this so much it would cut into their enormous profits and yeah why would this get negged??
Good read. Hopefully something will be done about this but big pharmaceutical companies wont give in easily. +1. And whoever negged this is a moron
Thanks for the downvotes, bitches.
now I don't feel welcome in my own house.
LMFAO......................... here, have a +3 from an old friend
One thing we couldnt do in the MOD forum was upvote/downvote each other, we could fight and give each other plenty of shit though!
Bro Fist.
Lol
Seems there a couple of guys going around and -2 to alot of us also.... Down vote someone they at least have the balls to say so.......smh...... They have big balls negging the boss or just stupid one.....
We call that pussy negging.......
If the negs are bullshit, and we can tell that someone is fucking around, then we can change the negs to pluses and let mods know what we are dealing with...mods can determine who is pussy neggin....
Yea that's right, but seems it might have been a glitch. I have seen alot of other's the same.
.If not the mods will weed there ass out, it's just a matter of time bro..
That's why I say it's up to us as member's as well to do out part and try to keep other member's and the site safe to. There alot more members than mods so they need our help as well.
Thanks bro.
Probably was the big pharma companies.
Hahaha...
LMFAO!
ha ha bro you crazy. lol
