-1 F*cked off rotator cuff

ad

So ya my rotator cuff completely torn been this way for about a month in a half or so and i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place because I can't afford surgery and I can't even take Corticosteroids for inflammation and rotator rehab workouts won't put a dent in it at this stage ....i've still been working out just cant do bench press or dumbbell presses..... has anyone ever had a complete tear an is there anything to do about it without surgery or Corticosteroids.....I know most are gonna say stop working out an let it heal but everything I've researched doesn't seem to be that simple being what it is even if it does seem to be better in a 6months or a year from now it's never gonna be completely healed and lifting anything over 25lbs in a press could flare it right back up again and just so everyone knows I wasn't going ape shit in the gym for this to happen was benching 225 like I always do even warmed up before hand was on the 6th rep or so and the strength in my left arm gave away sent the whole bar shifting over to my left so it was either let the bar fall on me or use all my strength in my left arm to hold it by the time my spotter got it off me the damage was done.....only takes one slip up my friends even if its weight u lift every day don't take the lift for granted and make sure ur spotter is paying fuckin attention and not watching the got damn gym tv....smh

I just had my fourth shoulder surgery on June 18. If those muscles are completely torn they will stay that way until they are surgically repaired. If you wait any significant amount of time to have it repaired then that group of muscles will atrophy to nothing. Then the repair causes the surgeon to have to "stretch" those muscles back to their origin and stitch them so they can heal. This is a much longer and painful recovery. Some hospitals and doctors will help with payment arrangements to let you have the surgery. You just have to ask around about that. Lift smart and be very careful.

Ok I am not a doctor but I will tell you my experience. I torn one of the muscles when I was 19 never worked right around 21? I started doing cycles with deca and working out. At some point it got better not sure when but when I stopped cycling a few years later it never hurt again. Life happened got to busy for working out for a few years then I tore a muscle in my other shoulder after 3 years of not sleeping, and screwing with a doctor getting BS injections, doing there exercises. It didn't help for shit, At this point I could now lift a very light amount of weight so I was like fuck it Im going all in got some deca got some test ran 400-750 12 weeks 10 on deca my shoulder is about 90% now. This is why I am here now I also gained over 20lbs of muscle back in this time. I figure I will be better soon! This was a small tear looking at the mri the first one was bad and still does not bother me I say AAS is what fixed it. But Deca will mask the pain a lot so do not go heavy I slowly worked my weight up in the cycle and never tried to max out even at 12 reps I could do 2 or 4 more

If one of the muscles in the rotator cuff is completely torn, there isn't anything outside of surgery that will correct the problem. Rest, going light weight, doing this, doing that won't help. Yes, you will probably feel better and the symptoms will subside, but it will NOT eliminate the deeper issue....That being a complete tear.

A complete tear is just as what it sounds like, a muscle torn into two pieces. Think of it as a piece of string being cut with a pair of scissors. This string will not miraculously become one piece of string again simply by doing nothing. It needs to be tied back together. The same with a muslce, it needs to be surgically pieced back together.

I would try to do everything you can to avoid symptoms, whether that be not doing pressing exercises, icing the shoulder, or taking NSAIDS. Rotator cuff exercises won't do anything for the torn muscle, but it can strengthen the other rotator cuff muscles to help stabilize the shoulder.

I had a rotator cuff problem at one time.I don't think it was torn, but it was very painful.I couldn't sleep on that side and my shoulder would pop when I lifted my arm.I read an article in a magazine that was about shoulder injuries. It stated that a majority of upper body exercises work your front and outer deltoids. The stronger front and outer deltoids pull the shoulder forward misaligning the rotator cuff. Then the shoulder problems start. The article said to stop shoulder press exercises and concentrate on exercises that work the rear deltoids.I did things like, sitting in the pec deck backwards to work my rears and put my arms out to my sides and do backward circles.I worked my rears every workout and did the backward circles everyday. After about a month, the pain was gone.I don't know if this will help you,but it's worth a shot, seeing as you can't afford surgery.

I had the exact same issue Scooby. I started working my rear delts on the pec deck and no more pain. I think I got to strong too fast on my first tren cycle.

I've had 3 shoulders surgeries so far and still need another, the best advice I can give is work around it as best as you can, if It hurts QUIT! It'll only inflame it more if you try and push through it. I quit almost every type of pressing moving for nearly 3 months and stuck to isolation type movements. Always always warm up properly too. I slowly began introducing pressing movements again into my routine but very light weight. Don't let your ego cause you pain if your only using a 30 pound db who cares. I stay away from any kind of flat presses anymore since they seem to cause the most amount of stress on your shoulders. And if you do begin pressing again I would use a styrofoam pad and not go below 90 degrees
