Doctors and blood tests
ad
I have my first on-cycle blood test tomorrow. I plan on being fully honest with my doctor, no reason not to. How have yall brought it up? Obviously there's legal and ethical issues for a dr so how do we all get bloods done and not get dropped?

Guess it’s too late now, but if other people come across this while having the same dilemma, here’s another thing to think about. Life insurance. If you already have it, or If not and you plan on getting married and or having kids you’ll want it. Probably not something you’re thinking about now if you’re still young but the time will come when you have a family that depends on you your income. If you get it they’re not paying out a dime if you did die. They will comb over your medical records, your social media and anything else they can to find some inconsistency in your application. You checked the box for no illicit drugs, then there’s you admiring to your doctor that you’re taking steroids in your medical records. And your claim will be denied and your family won’t have a leg to stand on to fight it.
Definitely a case by case basis, doctor may be cool but it’s still going in the medical record. If you have a heart attack the insurance company may deny, that’s the good thing about having a script even from a clinic. In all fairness, if you go in for a checkup and the doc has your bloodwork, you’re 49yo standing 6’1”, 230lbs, 14%bf with 19” arms, and your doc doesn’t think you’re on something with a test level of 2,500, elevated hematocrit, and RBC, you probably need a new doctor.
I told my dr. Full disclosure, felt like I needed to. All is well after she's going to monitor and help me keep myself safe. I appreciate the comments
From my experience whether you decide to tell your Doctor or not depends on where you live in the world, and the impact it will have on the care you can get if things go wrong. In the UK most people tell their Doc as our healthcare is free, we don't need Insurance or anything like that. It often helps with diagnosis on certain things too if they know you are injecting AAS. Over in the States its quite a bit different because you have to pay for your care and usually need Insurance, often the insurance won't cover you if you say you are on gear too it seems. So most guys I have spoken to don't tell their Doctor.
I don’t think I’d be honest. That shit goes in your medical records and stays there forever.
Most of us don’t use doctors for bloodwork. There’s some sites online where you can order the lab work without a doctor and then you bring that to a labcorp or quest and they do it. Then you get the results online from the place you ordered the labs from. Privatemdlabs was what i used to use, not sure if they’re still around. Post here for folks to look at for interpretation and only involve doctors if there’s a serious issue.
You just want to make sure nothing is going haywire inside you due to the gear you’re running. And it’s also good to verify the test your taking is legit by pulling total and free test levels.
While info is medically confidential, it's best to gauge their receptiveness with other discussions / topics.
Also more frequent blood tests can be purchased from vendors or other online clinics that focus with athletes and competitors.
When I brought it up I realized doctors deal by and far with 90% patients that are uninterested in their health, overweight and unhealthy habits. Showing a legitimate interest in your own health and performance with the right doctor should bring a desire for them to accept your personal choices and help ensure you remain healthy.
It's similar discussions with Grey market glps, sure you aren't on script but you have a desire to better yourself and goals and a dr should appreciate that and support it at least from the other side that smokes, drinks and eats two large pizzas a day.
I'm just honest, and do more regular blood work outside my primary care. If I run into an issue with my Dr I'll find another more receptive Dr.
Make some friends with local gym goers that look like they may be taking gear and find out what doctors they use in your area. If you don't have that then next best is to find a hormone replacement doctor or a sports medicine doctor who will be more knowledgeable and understanding of your needs.
Doctors are dime a dozen. Be honest and if they don’t want to assist you, then find another doctor. My doctor already had other patients that were taking AAS so he didn’t mind. So I simply go to him while on cruise and run private bloods on blast. On cruise I run extensive labs. On blast I do less total labs to keep it cheap.
